Want to widen the mind and experience the world at the same time? Studying abroad does just that. It’s a life time opportunity for students “…to discover new strengths and abilities, conquer new challenges, and solve new problems” (“10 Reasons…”). There are many benefits to studying abroad.
While studying abroad, students are more apt towards personal growth. “People who return from study abroad programs often see it as an experience which matured them personally and intellectually” (“Study Abroad Student Guide”). For most, this is their first time out of the U.S. and even their home state. So, it’s understandable why it would help this area of life for them. It’s their first step of living on their own, so what better way to practice being on their own and test their limits buy going abroad. They’re taking on the world first hand and, “learning how to maneuver in a new city, with different customs and language, requires patience and creativity” (“Benefits of Study Abroad”). This helps the traveling students to become more independent. It also helps to broaden the mind, so “students who study abroad return home with an informed and much less biased perspective toward other cultures and people” (“10 Reasons…”). Going straight into a new and sometimes totally different culture can be a shock and a struggle, but it’s a great way to help with personal growth, because it forces you to make decisions and experience new things.

Going away to college is a great way for people to meet new friends and experience new things. Usually a setting unlike their home will help them with both of these experiences. While this may not be true for everyone, I believe everyone should try living in an area unlike his or her own. This is what develops a person intellectually and socially.
Use the time to help develop your people skills to help you in the future. College helps with your organizations skills, time management to prepare you for the future. In college, you learn that there is a lifetime of learning to experience and you getting prepared for the upcoming decisions in life. With the future jobs, you will have deadlines to meet with multiple things at once, but you will be able to handle with having had 4 class and several things due on the same day. In college, there are many organization that people are members of helps set their future careers. College gives people the experience of an atmosphere that is a step closer to the real world. The experience that the college offers to study aboard and explore other countries to learn cultures that you may know nothing about gives you a diverse learning experience. Many people do not get the opportunity to travel aboard without college because they can’t afford. College has set up a way for many to experience these things. The essay Is College Worth the Money? To say my goals for studying abroad were purely academic would be skewing the truth; studying Chinese took me to China. There is about 500 million people that speak French and about 7 million of those are Canadians. The credit that I would fulfill doing this abroad program, an advanced Western Tradition, fits perfectly in my schedule and will help me be one step closer to my early graduation. Most obviously, studying abroad will also benefit my education by giving me a wider-range of knowledge. I will get the chance to talk to numerous people of different backgrounds, hearing what they have done in their life and how they got where they are.

It was undoubtedly true for them as it was for me. Experiencing studying abroad by first hand has totally changed my life.
I want some new experiences abroad. But there are some deeper reasons as well.

Living in another country is a difficult experience for many people. A common feature of people living in a foreign country is finding them Gathered together in restaurants, discussing about their home and their experiences in the foreign country. Moreover, these groups are not all from the same home country. Often, the interests that landed them in a foreign country are enough to connect them in building the foundations of friendship, like studying same major. However, the only thing that you can see obvisely is fear. As a Saudi student in USA I can say we often have to deal with many administration issues that may even result to the cancellation of one’s citizenship. Like getting USA Green Card. There is a fear of living in another country that never goes regardless of the period that one has lived in a foreign country. However, the interests that landed them in a foreign country, including education and business. It’s the same even the student didn’t come from same place. in fact that they didn't came from the same mother country. This will presents the argument that people living in another country are subject to change depending in economic and political way in order for them to fit in the new country.
Therefore, this is able to encourage the ability to communicate and appreciate the depth and diversity of the world. Communication with two different countries, or three, or four, will further bring the world closer together, in hopes of closing the divide between some countries. By learning a second language, it can significantly broaden your native language as it gives you stronger vocabulary skills, improved literacy skills and a better understanding of the grammar and construction of your own native language. Furthermore, this can help you in other educational studies. Though it is possible to travel to another country without acquiring the native language, the experience you will have is greatly diminished as you will not see beyond the surface of their culture. Additionally, knowing the native language makes travelling easier, by being able to order meals in restaurants, ask and understand directions. Additionally, it makes it easier to find accommodation, it’s more enjoyable, informative and more satisfying. You are able to further understand and appreciate international literature, music and films, by being able to understand word plays, innuendoes, cultural references, metaphors and further improve your ability to speak the
Over the past decades our world has become more interdependent and new technologies have allowed us to work in close contacts with people all over the world. As relationships with countries grow, so does the need to speak a foreign language. We have an enhanced need for an enlightened citizenship that is both culturally and linguistically prepared to function in today’s world. The world is full of wonders and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, that we take advantage of. Traveling is the ultimate education and it never fails as a teacher. It teaches you things no class can about the world and yourself. Seeing a historical spot and being in the environment it is in teaches you what no text book can. Most people hear about what is happening in the world through the bias not understanding media. However, if you are a traveler the real world influences you in a way the media will never be able to. We understand how the world works with its many cultures and lifestyles. Being a part of and experiencing different cultures broadens your views of the world and changing’s what you think of the world. Having expanded knowledge and understanding about culture is not the only thing travelers have. Finding your true self and learning about who you are is the best thing about being a traveler. There is no better way to find yourself because when you travel you open yourself up to millions of opportunities. Without travel you may be completely unaware of your true persona. Your limits are tested and you are completely out of your comfort zone when traveling. Getting out of the comfort zone helps you grow as a person and see your potential. I have experienced many different cultures that have personally changed myself and my outlook of the world. Traveling has given me the greatest education I know more about the world, cultures, and myself. Being a traveler is a huge blessing in my life I am so glad I am able to travel and see the world. Nothing can take away the memories that traveling and being a traveler has brought me. Get out there and see this beautiful world for yourself and become a traveler, you will not regret
