In My past years of writing, I was really good at just writing down ideas and then combining them at the end to all make sense. If we were doing a book essay I was good at reading the book and then interpreting what I read and what I remember.I have more weakness than strengths as a writer. For example, when I would be writing an essay I would have no idea when to stop and when to use a comma or a semicolon. I would use them in my essay but I would have no clue on they mean in an essay. Another weakness of mine was that I did not use any transition words or phrases and If I did I did not even notice it. My knowledge of the transition words was terrible I did even know what they were or how to use them in my essays.

The art of writing is a complex and difficult process. Proper writing requires careful planning, revision, and proofreading. Throughout the past semester, the quality of my writing has evolved significantly. At first, I struggled with the separation of different types of paragraphs, and I found writing them laborious. Constant practice, however, has eliminated many of my original difficulties, and helped to inspire confidence in my skills. As a collegiate writer, my strength lies in my clear understanding of the fundamentals of writing, while my primary weakness is proofreading my own work.
Over my career of schooling my writing has changed dramatically at times and very little at others. Through my years of schooling people have determined my main weaknesses and strengths that I should work on with my writing. My biggest weakness is writing introductions and conclusions they must be so complicated and require so much thought to be defined as good. I excel at writing body paragraphs and explaining all the facts that back up your main ideas though.
These strengths and weaknesses were mainly discovered through the papers that we have written. I have many strengths when I’m writing papers and at the same time, I have many weaknesses. In my papers, I have noticed that one of my biggest strengths is how articulate I am. The papers that have been written by myself show that I structured sentences to present ideas in different ways. It is not straightforward and boring when ideas are presented. I like to keep the reader hooked on my paper. In order to keep up with this strength, I like to read articles. The articles I read are typically the ones that present new ideas or start arguments. This is one of my strengths that I am very proud
Change is interwoven in the learning process and therefore is inevitable. It is beyond amazing to reflect on ourselves and see how much we change in just six months. I do not know what is more remarkable—the change itself or knowing that that change represents an expansion in our knowledge, a growth in our abilities, and an improvement in our writing. However, one thing I am sure of is that it feels good to see that, excuse the cliché, hard work does pay off.
Another one of my strengths as a writer and a student is my determination to complete every assignment to the best of my ability. I have never been the type of student that does not get her work done, whether it be an essay for English or a workbook page for Geometry. I work diligently in all my classes and aim to learn as much as I can from every assignment. Since English is not my best subject, I work twice as hard to improve every day and bring out the best writer in me. My determination is what drove me to enhance my weaknesses and polish my strengths.
One strength I had was the organization of the essay. My sentences I wrote were not all over the place each paragraph talks about one topic. One weakness I had with writing this essay was my writing style. I noticed that in this essay my writing style was a bit choppy. I should have read my essay out loud to see if it had a good flow between my ideas.
It has took me 19 years to realize every writer has strengths and weakness. Entering your freshman year English 1101 class, I had the basic fundamentals of writing. I was very strong in following the writing process: 1.Brainstorming, 2.Rough draft, 3.First draft, 4.Final draft. However despite knowing the writing process I still had trouble following through with the writing process.
One strength I saw myself, as having when I enter college is being able to understand and critical think about a essay/article that I have read. However, after taking English 101, I have now learned that this is a strength of mine as well as a weakness.
Writing deficiencies, I have plenty. My biggest problem is figuring out how to write what I am thinking. I have never been proficient at this task. It looks good to me when I read it, but when I turn the paper over to someone else; they do not find the point I was trying to convey. Typically, I have to verbally express the meaning of the paper to them. This is the area in which I would like to excel in this class.
My first writing weakness was deciding what to write about. I had to read the essay topic over and over again to understand what it was asking for. I would worry that I wouldn’t understand the topic correctly. While writing the essay I was scared to get out of topic and write about something else I wasn’t supposed to write about. Another thing that would happen to me was that suddenly my mind would go blank and wouldn’t be able to think about what else I could write about. The essay I liked writing the most this semester was the second essay. I enjoyed making my own planet and how my alien had a quest with all the commercials I saw on the TV. The hardest essay I wrote this semester was the fourth and last essay. I got confused when I was writing the body paragraphs. This writing weakness impacted my life by showing me that I have trouble thinking about how I could write my essays. I think I should start reading books and maybe I could get a few ideas out of those books.
One of my strengths that I have as a writer is I like telling story so I always come up with a story because when I write I always have a planned story in my mind and I just put it down words on paper. Also before write I plan what I am going to write. This way of writing is very effective because usually I gather research and write down the important points and my own explanations. In fall quarter, I had a research paper instead of a midterm exam. My strengths as a writer helped me very much in my research paper and I got A grade in that
As a student, I feel that I have many writing weaknesses. I know that on my own, and because teachers have told me so. Some of the complications I face with writing is not using enough body paragraphs, forgetting a thesis statement, lack of word choice, punctuation errors, and etc. I am unaware at times of my mistakes, but I always try to correct them.
The only thing I care about; the only thing I hope to get from this course, is some improvement in my ability to write what I think -- explain ideas and feelings to other people. I don't give a damn about anything else, and so far I haven't been disappointed. At the beginning of the course I was informed that we were going to be discussing exposition, which isn't so much a kind of writing as a purpose or attitude behind it. This purpose is to explore, unfold, or develop an idea or issue. And the sense I've gotten from our discussion is that the attitude is one of intellectual honesty, of dedication to learning something and reporting what's there , instead of protecting preconceived notions or projecting agendas or otherwise following some kind of "safe" path. "Themewriting" is what we've been calling everything which does the latter.
This class has helped me realize my strengths and weaknesses in literature. This has allowed me to grow and realize that I am a work in progress. I am confident that by the end of this class my big issues in writing will be improved. Each assignment in this class is helping grow and is making me into the writer I know I can be.
Gabriela Zamora Professor: R. Stringer Friday class 09/06/2014 Writing consists of strengths and weaknesses; it requires perfect grammar, spelling, enhanced vocabulary and good punctuation. In my point of view, I have never considered myself a good writer. One of my weaknesses in writing is always tackling the prompt, due to it is hard for me to begin an essay. My grammar and punctuation has also been another problem in my writing because I always tend to use the wrong transition word or punctuation.
