Healthcare is a dynamic and complex field that requires its administrative professionals to be flexible and adaptive. Healthcare administrators not only have to be robustly trained in the various intricacies relative to providing patient care, but they also have to possess the interpersonal skills and business savvy required to manage healthcare organizations. As administrator of a healthcare, my job is to organize medical organization in order to achieve our mission; my team needs tactics to achieve our goal. As an administrator, my interest is business such as budgeting, scheduling, marketing and internal communication. But we face some challenges in our organization, and we gain also some more strengths to reach our goal.
Our first strength is we always try to meet the needs of our customers. For instance, we gather more research about Alzheimer diseases and other dementia diseases for my resident to have a better care. With help of the nurses and doctors, we will keep improving those diseases with care. Another meaningful strength is we want to be a complete health system. Reimbursement is one of the main ones. Most services we deliver are from this indemnification and it is not that easy to deliver care without this reimbursement. The care that many residents receive and where that care is received is sometimes based off third-party payers and not what is best for the residents themselves. To improve the long-term care system, it is important to make decisions based on what is best for the consumers and allowing consumers to decide themselves what is best for them. That is our job as administrators for making sure hospitals operate efficiently and provide quality medical care to patients. The government controls and regulates healthcare somewhat because healthcare organizations are in a position to take advantage of the elderly and sick so there are regulations that protects them. It seems as though healthcare facilities are being paid less for their services today. Some critical measures for the survival of a healthcare organization are to optimize performance and quality. Finding system-wide efficiencies and cost reduction healthcare will help. In order to get better and keep high quality and performance while still raising reimbursements, it is necessary and important to involve doctors with the ideas and plans for any management strategies.
Due to WellStar being a multi facility health system, its organizational design is constantly being reviewed for simpler and more efficient processes. WellStar’s two smallest hospitals, WellStar Paulding and WellStar Douglas, previously under went reconstruction with regards to their hierarchical structure in Patient Access Services (PAS). WellStar Paulding, the smallest facility of the five hospitals, renovated their managerial chain of command in PAS. WellStar Paulding’s patient volume is less than half in comparison to the 4 additional hospitals. As a result, their staff is smaller and only requires minimal supervision. There are much more benefits to the U.S. adopting a dorm of national health care system than to keep its current system, which has proved to be unnecessarily expensive, complicated, and overall inefficient.
In conclusion there needs to be an increase in government funding for long term care facilities to convey maximum ability to provide quality of care to elders and equal accessibility too homes and care. Ways that can produce this outcome are increases in staff funding for training and recruitment, as well as for equipment to help increase care. Government funding should also help elders decrease the cost of living in nursing homes and allow equal accessibility to homes and care in homes.
An issue that is widely discussed and debated concerning the United States’ economy is our health care system. In Canada, France and Great Britain, for example, the government funds health care through taxes. Driving their un-insured patients into bankruptcy." (p. B1) The most expensive health care system in the world is that of America. I will talk about the health insurance in U.S., the health care in other countries, Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill, and my solution to this problem.
