I live in a family of four: my mother, my father, and my brother, Tanner. My brother is twenty-three years old, and works in my dad’s office, which is a State Farm Agency. Even though we do not always get along, my brother and I love each other and I look up to him, sometimes. He did not care about school as much as I did, and seeing him regret that sometimes helps me think about my future and college more. He went to Laverne University, not really sure what he wanted to be but knew it was something involving business, and he graduated last winter with a bachelor’s degree in business. He is looking for possible jobs and careers, but for now he is the office manager of my dad’s office and getting experience dealing with customers and using certain …show more content…
I have never really had much confidence in most of the things I do, although I have gotten better at it. It usually does not affect me that much, since I do not think I can never succeed, but I expect me to not do so well, but hope that I still somehow manage to do well. Even though I do not have much confidence, I still try to put my best effort in my work. I am very determined to do my work and achieve my goals, and I strive to get good grades. Having low confidence and still being determined and doing my best might sound conflicting and confusing, because it is. However it can be simply rephrased as even though I expect to not do well, I still try my best anyway, and let the outcome be the outcome. So in a way, those strengths and weaknesses cancel eachother out. Another weakness I have is anxiety and stress. I stress and worry a lot, and even though I try to not let it get to me, it usually does. Most often I panic, which does not lead me to a better state, and I get overwhelmed more easily than others. Along with regular stress, I have social anxiety. I am timid and slightly shy, and I do not like large groups of people I do not know, which is why I have not gone to the student store unless I was accompanying a friend that was purchasing something. I think my greatest strength is that I can quickly learn or understand subjects and topics quickly. Although I may learn something quickly, I most …show more content…
I will most likely not make it this year, so I have another year to practice for junior year. I plan on taking AP Physics either junior and senior year, since I plan on majoring in Aerospace. Another goal I have is to start my own club, since I think it will be a fun experience and it is good for college applications. For long term goals, I have several possibilities and paths depending on certain factors and events that occur. My main plan is to go to Caltech university and once I graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, and take the two engineering exams, I can work at JPL as an Aerospace engineer. Since the acceptance rate is eight percent, and the overall cost for four years is over three hundred and sixty thousand dollars, I have a backup plan. Because my dad fought in the gulf war, I am able to attend any UC school for free. My family just learned this recently, and it sound way better than $360,000, although with Caltech you can get a job at JPL right away. Another possibility is Cal Poly Pomona, because it is also a good school for engineering. After I graduate whichever college I end up going to, I plan on getting an apartment in the local area so I can still be around my parents. If my parents ever let me leave them, a goal I have is to live in another country, preferable Japan. If my parents still want me to stay local, I can get a house big enough for me to have a
I believe that everyone has their own strength and weaknesses, but not everyone is able to figure out their strengths and weaknesses correctly. Knowing our own strengths and weaknesses is essential because it can help to achieve success in anything we choose to do. For me, my weakness is the time management, communication skills and weak in preparing effective Curriculum Vitae (CV) Below will be further explaining all my personal weaknesses and the ways to overcome it.
The weakness I portray are very difficult for me to think of. I know that I have quite a few but to change them is something that I have not full conquered yet. A weakness I know I have is sentence structure. I am not very good at putting sentences together and making them strong and well developed. Another weakness that is obvious is word choice. I don't always know the exact wording to use in different parts of a paper, this makes it hard to understand sometimes not very well written.
Do you remember what it felt like to be a teen and wonder what your future would become? That is right where I am at. As a freshman in high school, I have begun thinking about what my future in life will be. Which school, what career path, and where? All of these options are very overwhelming. At the moment, I would like to follow the path of engineering, manufacturing, and technology, and pursue college degrees in computer science and mechanical engineering. In order to achieve my dream, I can use background career knowledge, ACT test requirements, and habits designed to help you get to where you want to go.
Professional development for educators is an important step in learning new ways to educate, implement new practices and administering the best possible outcomes for children 's wellbeing. Depending on the child’s circumstances it is also important to search for other means of opinion. In this case accommodating the child’s family and the community in which he or she lives in and advancing towards promoting worthwhile relationships. Relationship building encourages parents in working collaboratively with professionals to create environments of support and enthusiasm around the best interests of the child.
A personal development plan is put in place to allow all staff in the organisation to develop in the progress to then meet the agreed standards of care. The personal development plan is a action plan based on reflection, self awareness, goal setting, and any additional training that is need to reach your own personal goals and targets and within the time frame
For personal and professional growth, given my personality traits, I need to embrace my strengths and weaknesses. I must use my strengths to my advantage, to be more effective academically and in the workplace, but I also need to identify and try to overcome my weaknesses, especially professionally.
One strength I saw myself, as having when I enter college is being able to understand and critical think about a essay/article that I have read. However, after taking English 101, I have now learned that this is a strength of mine as well as a weakness.
NCLB and ESSA have many strengths as well as weaknesses that are prevalent at my school. First, our school has worked tirelessly to ensure that each grade level and subject are implementing state adopted standards for all of our students to ensure they are fully prepared for life beyond middle school (“The Education Trust”, 2015). Every lesson and unit plan must include the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and each activity should incorporate how that standard, in addition, to content knowledge standards are met. This renewed emphasis has changed the dynamics of student instruction and design of our courses. For example, our Math Explorations program utilizes problem-based learning and real world applications of math theorems.
To begin, I am going to write about my weaknesses and how they transitioned into strengths. First, I remember after each assignment in class was introduced I
A strength of convergent and active experimentation in regards to disciplinary perspective would be that I have leadership skills that will allow me to successfully keep my information organized and clear. Another strength would be my ability to give detailed information during lectures and be able to promptly answer any questions. A weakness would include strict policies and schedule. To ensure that I have successfully been productive for my students I would want to be as productive as possible during lectures. In order for students to maintain a good course grade they would benefit from having similar, if not the same, learning style as myself. In conclusion, I have developed my learning styles from divergent and concrete experiences to convergent
Personality can affect all different aspects of one’s life. There are links connecting personality to academic and occupational success and social relationships. Health can even be affected by personality because immunity can be altered by personality traits like sociability, optimism, and carelessness. Personality determines the way social interactions occur and when social relationships are determined by how the interactions occur personality can really affect the way one builds social relationships. Just like social relationships, academic and occupational success are affected by personality traits like carelessness, mastery, and agreeableness.
My strength that I find I have in my mental and emotional health is my ability to cope with the issue in my life either through seeking help with someone like a friend, my sister, or my mom or by figuring it out myself; I never like to bottle up my problems until the pressure gets the best of me. If I can’t seek the help of others and I feel overwhelmed then writing things down on paper helps me relieve the stress of my problems. One weakness in my mental and emotional health is that I do not always feel great about myself. I overthink the things I have done in the past and get mad at myself for some inconsequence, insignificant, embarrassing event. I have the weakness of not being able to let go of my past mistakes and I hold them over myself which sometimes makes me upset. I need to learn to let go of my past and to not get mad at myself over irrelevant things.
Everyone has their own definition of a strong person. A strong person to me is a person that can overcome the adversities in life positively. My friend Ivery, my dad, and my sister can be boldly described as a strong person in so many ways. In order to be characterized as a strong person you have to be stable-minded, courageous, and honest. Every strong person has their own character traits but there are some that stand out more than others. Some people may define people strong by their physical strengths. Others might say you are strong because you didn’t cry when you should have cried. Defining a strong person is based off of your perception of something. There are three people that demonstrate strong qualities as an individual.
My first strength is kindness. Since I am mostly around children, kindness allows them to like me and be comfortable around me. The last strength is listening, I listen to all of my friends if they need someone to talk to. Listening allows me to be their support system. Even though I have different strengths, there are also some challenges. Some of these challenges are similar to the life of St. Francis and St. Clare. Some of my challenges are deciding whether I picked the right choice and ability to handle change. There are many events in my life where I wasn’t sure if I made the right decision or not. For example, I recently switched my major and I wasn’t sure if I made the right choice and if my parents would agree with it. This is similar to St. Francis’s life because he kept changing what he wanted to do with his life and wanted his parents approval. Francis was still his father’s son, unconsciously pursuing what his father valued reputation, status and wealth (Sweeney, 2014, p.34). Francis wanted to this in order to make his father proud but as time went on he knew what he wanted to do even though his parents might not agree to it. Francis always questioned himself in the decisions that he made frequently ( Egler, October 2015). Another challenge is the ability to handle change. I have a difficult time trying to accept change because I usually like the way things are. I don’t like change when I have no control over
“The failure is the mother of success” this Chinese quote said that failure is not the end. Failure is where people learn from their mistake. People cannot be successful all the time. Indeed, there are many people who learned from their failures before being successful. Each failure that people had met is a helpful lesson and valuable experience to help them become a better person.
