Stop Logging Before it Destroys the World
The sound of trees falling in the distance, national forests being cut down by humans; these are things that animals living in the forest have to deal with every day in the forest. Logging takes away animals homes and turns beautiful land into torn up trashy land. Logging is bad for the environment and should be banned from national forest. The logging companies claim they care about our forest but all they really care about is the money. The national forest should not be a source of income for our nation.
Logging the National Forest is very unhealthy for our environment; it pollutes the air, water, and tears up the land. The chain-saws, skidders, logging trucks, burning slash, and all the other logging tools put millions of pollutants into the clean crisp air. The skidders and logging trucks tear up the land making ruts and eroding the land causing water pollution and killing fish.
Discharges of sediments and other pollutants from operations throughout the North Coast region into the region’s rivers and streams have adversely affected the health of fish species endangered or threatened with extinction. Future pollution discharges pursuant to the waiver for logging will adversely affect Coho Salmon and other endangered or threatened species in the future.

Cutting the trees also reduces our oxygen supply. The beauty of the land is defaced with logging and should be stopped for environmental concerns.
Now let’s look at the wildlife effects from logging. Endangered species such as the Mexican Spotted Owls need a dense forest for its natural habitat. Logging will de...

...t the large diameter trees called old growth trees. The reason they only want these is because they get more money from the lumber industry than the pulp wood industry. Pulp wood is the small
diameter trees used to make paper. If all the old growth trees are cut down there will only be small tress which is bad for the environment. Making a profit off of public land is just like stealing money from the public and should be punished by law.
Logging is useless these days for any aspect in which we use tree properties for. In construction we now have steel beams, aluminum siding, and other types of materials which are not wood based. We can now recycle all the paper or make it out of some other type of plant such as corn stocks. With all the damage that is done to the environment from logging there is no reason better to stop logging before it destroys our world.
These are very difficult questions for me personally to answer because I live in the Pacific Northwest, and I have seen the beauty of the old growth forests first-hand.
Approximately ninety percent of the forests in the Pacific Northwest have already been harvested. In order to protect the current owl population. remaining forests would have to be preserved, but this would have a serious impact. negative economic effect. Such a decision would affect jobs, regional economy.
Logging was the process of cutting down numerous amounts of trees to use wood in a capitalist way or to clear land for agricultural purposes. Two main techniques were used by the settlers to clear away these large forests. One technique was called girdling. Girdling is the process of cutting a strip of bark off of the circumference of the tree which eventually killed it. Another technique used for deforestation is the "cut and burn" method. This method was the process of cutting down many of the trees and burning the rest of the brush and plants to clear land.
John Muir once said, “Where one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.” His understanding of the connection of nature to the world would be helpful regarding today’s ethical issue of clearcutting happening in Tongass National Forest. Firstly, this practice involves completely clearing an area of trees, regardless of the shape and usability. Then, the remaining scrub and brush are just burned off which leaves smoky haze for several days. Tongues Nation Forest is considered the “crown jewel” of America’s forest because it is the home to 800 years old trees, black and brown bears, wolves, bald eagles, Sitka black-tailed deer, moose, humpback, whales, orcas, sea otters, Steller sea lions. However, Sealaska, the largest private land owner in the Southeast Alaska wants to invade the forest through clear cut logging.Clearcutting or clearfelling can have serious environmental impacts. Taking wood from rainforests and old-growth forests is detrimental to the environment and society. However, it is possible for us to have sustainable wood if we make an effort.
Environmental issues affect every life on this planet from the smallest parasite to the human race. There are many resources that humans and animal needs to survive; some of the most obvious resources come from the forests. Forests make up a large percentage of the globe. The forests have global implications not just on life but on the quality of it. Trees improve the quality of the air that species breath, determine rainfall and replenish the atmosphere. The wood from the forests are used everyday form many useful resources. Moreover, thinning the forests increases the amount of available light, nutrients and water for the remaining trees. Deforestation (forest thinning) is one of the most critical issues of environmental problems that are occurring today.
On average millions of hectares of forests are destroyed each year resulting in severe consequences that will affect not only our lifestyle, but also all the animals with which we share our planet. Many species of animals and plants will become extinct and if we continue with the destruction of our forests, earth will be unable to sustain life.
Professional nursing practice has been developing for several centuries. Nursing as a profession can be traced back to the early Christian era. Since then the perception of nursing practice has changed significantly. “Nursing is caring, commitment, and dedication to meeting the functional health needs of all people” (Craven & Hirnle, 2009, p. 32). First of all I want to find out if the nursing is actually a profession. So let’s explore the definition of the profession and if nursing has got all the components to it. Dr John Southwick in 1997 defined the profession as
Nursing has been a quality profession for millions, perhaps billions, of years. Having the knowledge of a nurse is basically having a super power. Nursing is a career that someone must chose because they truly love it. Nursing is the defense, advancement, and optimization of health and abilities. Prevention of illness, facilitation of healing, diagnosis and treatment for individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations is everything nurses stand for. Nurses in the end do the same job of caring for everyone, but there are different categories for this profession.
II.Audience connection/credibility: It is very important for us to understand that trees do so much for our environment and we need to stop destroying the trees because trees provide a home for many creatures, they are the lungs of our world. Trees have medicinal benefits, that are very useful to the human race. Trees are very beneficial to the world and it is unethical to keep destroying the trees.
Timber and especially hardwoods like mahogany and ebony are being felled at an alarming rate to satisfy the needs of the swiftly developing world. Another problem for the forest areas of the world is the type of agriculture used by some peasant farmers known as "slash & burn". This method of farming involves the burning of trees to add to the initial supply of nutrients in the soil. Over time this supply slowly wares down and so the farmer once again moves onto another plot of trees to slash and burn.
One reason that the Rainforest is being cut down is for logging, according to Source 3 logging accounts for 10% of rainforest deforestation. The timber from logging is often used for paper, tables and and sometimes fuel. The rainforest has remained untouched for many years before companies came for wood, because of this there are large amounts of unspoilt plants and
centuries. Today with an increasing population the amount of wood available has declined seriously in recent decades. People have been harvesting wood to cultivate land, burn, and for the use of raw materials for industry (Urquhart 2014). The estimated amount of deforestation taking place is twenty million hectares per year (Urquhart 2014). Climate change and global warming are just a few of the problems associated with the degradation of our forests.
One of the most evident problems associated to the environment is the issue of the logging of trees, mainly in undisturbed places such as the Amazon basin. Trees are considered the lungs of the Earth. They recycle all the polluting carbon in the air and return oxygen back into our atmosphere, creating a stable cycle of carbon in our atmosphere. However, the impeccable rates which trees are being cut down in our forests have grown to ever increasing and alarming rates. Trees that are made way for farming are burnt up releasing deadly amounts of carbon and thus leading to the problem of global warming. As its names suggest the world is slowly warming up and without any notice the environment which God has gave us will be slowly eradicated. The daily lives which humans carry on about every day are also a factor influencing on our environment and global warming. By driving cars that have a thirst for petrol we are releasing carbon dioxide and furthermore impacting on the world?s climate. In Australia environmental impact has always been evident. Land clearing especially in places such as Queensland has caused land to lay dry and lifeless where all forms of life is destroyed. By clearing land we are not only affecting our climate but are also destroying animal habitat and the usage of the land. Senseless actions by commuters in Australia, emitting tons and tons of lethal gases vulnerable to the atmosphere are starting to take its toll on our climate. We are seeing a harsher climate and at the same time less rain. If we want to preserve our world we must take a stance on this issue and take action for what is right, not carrying on the actions that will lead to a desolate, destroyed Earth.
To overcome this problem person has to get awareness regarding what deforestation is and what are the effects of it if we continue to practice it on the same scale. Actually, trees are the only source to filter the harmful gasses which are present in the atmosphere and can balance the harmful effects of those
