Steven Universe
I absolutely love Steven Universe. It is a great show for both teenagers and kids. I really enjoy this show because of the great characters and the many questions that are yet to be answered. This show has beautiful visuals and has a very 1970’s ‘look’ to it. This show is mainly aimed at kids but non the less very enjoyable for teenagers. To parents reading this, this show does look into the LGBT relationships and some parents don’t agree with it so this is something you want to know before letting your younger kids watch it, even though these things are shown a little bit. On Common Sense Media parents have voted that Steven Universe should be watched by kids 10+ I would say the same because of the LGBT references. For

From the pilot episode to the recently aired episode I have been drawn to it. This cartoons colour style is like all of our child hood explained in colour. In my opinion this show is kind of underrated and should be advertised a bit more although the pilot episode aired in 2013. Since then season 1 was released a year later. This is understandable because the creator, Natasha Allegri, was only doing this as a one-shot cartoon and wasn’t expecting people to like it so much. On common Sense Media people have voted that bee and puppy cat is suitable for people over 12-13. I would say this show is suitable for 11- year- olds, but there is one episode where a crab goes around and starts pointing at things and calling it …show more content…
This show was created by the same person who created Adventure time. So this means the style is very similar to adventure time. This show is mainly aimed at teens because the characters are people who they can relate to. This show has great humour to it and is very enjoyable to watch. As soon as I watch the first episode I couldn’t stop until I watched the most recent episode and right now I can’t wait till the next one comes out. The pilot episode was first released in 2009 and then the first season was released in 2012. These episodes last for about 5-10 minutes so you can binge watch them without getting into too much trouble because you have stayed up to late watch the entire series. On Common Sense Media people have rated this show to be 11+. I think that maybe it should be for kids around 12+ because of some things they say and do. In episode two there was a moon dragon riding on top of their spaceship and one of the characters called Beth was saying it was a “sassy moments”. And sometimes they would say “up yours” and then it would follow with a pixilated middle finger. Then again this show is mainly aimed at teenagers and teenage
The first time I heard the name, Neil deGrasse Tyson, was when my grandfather showed me an article Tyson had written. In the article, Tyson suggested 7 books a person should read so they can be more intelligent. Not knowing Tyson was an astrophysicist at the time, I skimmed over the material because I saw no validity in the argument. However, I did wonder why Tyson recommended the Bible as the number one book to read. I asked my grandfather, who coincidentally is also a astrophysicist, why I should read the Bible, but he could not think of a reason. After getting the chance to research Tyson, I have begun to understand his intelligence and able to answer my question. Moreover, Tyson is a scientist who defies social barriers because he wants to inspire the world in several specific ways.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend this book to early teens who are fans of drama and comedy because they could probably relate to most of the issues discussed to a certain extent. Girls my age, especially, would enjoy this book as they could relate to the issues discussed and they have probably already experienced similar
Music is played in the background, when something dramatic is happening. Although the family is a crazy mess, the audience feels comfortable when watching the show because they can predict what Frank will do next or who’s going to get in trouble or how things will happen. The show is rated MA for mature audiences, due to sex/nudity, violence/gore, a lot of profanity, alcohol/drugs and fighting/intense scenes. The show attracts a lot of viewers because as mentioned before, it’s something that isn’t usually seen in most people's lives on a daily basis as well as the wide range of ages with the characters on the
I think Dora and Friends does a great job at including other cultures into the show. Dora’s group of friends all come from different cultures. The show gets kids interested in learning another language. Dora and Friends represent strong friendships. They are never mean to one another and do not leave anyone behind. Dora and Friends teach each other how to be calm, and how to calm their selves down in order to deal with situations better. The show is appropriate for children. It does although have moments that are inappropriate but overall it is educational. Dora and Friends is beneficial for children to watch. I would rate this show a 4/5 the only downfall of this show is the lack of adult figures and Swiper. I love that they have a group of friends that has different cultures because it is showing children that not everyone looks the same or comes from the place and you can still be friends. I also enjoyed that the ending scene was boys and girls at a sleepover because typically that is not allowed and boy and girls are
When looking at the “Sesame Street TV review” found on Commonsensemedia.com, Sesame Street got 5 stars when it comes to quality. The review also says that it is appropriate for all ages (“Sesame Street TV Review”). If that wasn’t ...
Kids that age should not be using that kind of language, but, let's face it, in high school, teenagers are going to say bad things they shouldn't. Most books that contain bad language, are set for a higher grade level and shouldn't be available to elementary kids. In my opinion us high schoolers, and few middle schoolers, are mature enough to read books with that kind of language. Plus they have the option not to read those types of books if they find it offensive.
Today television shows are widely praised for their portrayal of different characters sexuality. On Modern Family a same-sex couple’s life is shown through their relations with their family and raising a child. There’s also shows aimed at young adults that are receiving attention for their depiction of gay or lesbian characters such as Glee and Pretty Little Liars. Even the Disney Channel has shown a same-sex couple on the show Good Luck Charlie (with some backlash claiming that since Disney is intended for children that they should seek merely to entertain and not to push an agenda). On the contrary to this argument is the idea, that same-sex couples are becoming more and more normal thus they should make it recognizable to children.
Just like movies and TV shows, video games have the same rating system based on age.
Haters say it’s for little kids, it isn’t because I’ve noticed that it is enjoyed by all ages, it makes every age group delighted, but mostly children. They also say it’s not interesting (boring) , I highly object to that opinion because the characters in Spongebob Squarepants are adventurous, funny and unique, unique because they all have their own personality that makes the show amazing and enjoyable.
Of course this movie is one of the best from Pixar Animation Studios, whose animation is outstanding. Rating: Monsters Inc. gets five stars from the incredible settings, the actually intriguing conflict, arresting climax, and joyful dénouement. Wonderfully the thought and imagination shine throughout the whole movie manifesting itself by the details put in, from the scratches on a building in the Monstropolis suburbs to the flowing, individual hairs on Sulley’s monster body. The movie is superb. It is inevitable for families to grab some chairs, and watch this great movie with Mike, Sulley, Randall, and Boo, because it’s that awesome. This movie is family and monster friendly alike.
Doc McStuffins is a show that consist of an African-American girl named Dottie who goes by Doc. Doc takes care of toys that are broken or not working properly. Doc McStuffins influences problem solving skills by making the kids wonder what wrong with the “sick” toy and how to “heal” or “cure” the toy. This is one of the few shows on Disney Junior that’s has an African-American family. This is great because it allows children of the same race to connect with the family. One of the downside, like Blue’s Clues, is the fact of the animated characters might cause children to struggle understand that there toys aren’t going to come to live with a stethoscope. Other than that I believe Doc McStuffins is an acceptable show for children. I also believe that the message of Doc McStuffins is we need to help the people around us and we are able to make a difference in someone life when you lend a hand. However, I believe that it could be improved by including new things to learn like colors, numbers,
There is no denying that CW’s Arrowverse is pretty amazing. What started off with Arrow soon spawned The Flash, then Legends of Tomorrow. After Legends of Tomorrow came crossovers with Supergirl, Constantine, and even an animated series, Vixen. This universe has had many successful moments including the introduction of the Flash, the Invasion crossover, Deathstroke, Flash vs. Arrow, and much, much more. However, this does not mean the universe is perfect. Other than Arrow season 4, there is one problem that sticks out to me whenever I think of the Arrowverse: there are absolutely no consequences.
The show offers a quirky protagonist in Sugar. She also has an offbeat family, which adds to the charm of this show. There are some smart story choices, such as the idea of the prom.
The official rating for this series is 8.6/10. The rating for maturity is 13+. I agree with both of the ratings. I agree with the high rating because pretty little liars is a good show if your into drama, and relationships. It's based off 5 girls that are in high school. So, most girls that are in high school love this show. Sense there are 5 girls, there's always something going on. If you get bored watching one of their 'lives' then you have 4 others to get into their drama. Each girl has a different personality of course. Everyone i know who watches the show has a favorite, and everyone's favorite character is different. My favorite is Hannah Marin. She is a blonde, and can act like one too. She reminds me of me because her interests. She
Not to mention, Adult Swim cartoons are the worst for a child. Those cartoons are strictly cartoons for adults, because they contain more mature content. With this in mind children will find a way to watch them anyway. Shows like Family Guy has extreme violence, profanity, and sexual references. In reality children will start fighting more aggressively, using profound words and phrases and make sexual references towards one another. The consequences are kids can pick up bad habits from watching cartoons that contain violent
