Should you live your life day to day or take advantage of every moment and make something of yourself? Most people are stuck in a mindset that prevents them from becoming the person that they want to be. This mindset can revolve around happiness and interests in what you want to do. There is a passion out there for everyone, it is just the fact people are too afraid of stepping out of their comfort zone to pursue their passion. My response to their fear is that we only have one life and we don’t get second chances. That statement might sound blunt, but we need to adjust to the mindset that we need go out and enjoy the world until it is too late. No obstacle/problem should hold you back they were placed in your way for a reason, and that reason …show more content…
There isn’t time to sorrow over your problems and Steve Jobs displays that in his speech. Before I begin stating my arguments for why I agree with Steve Jobs I want to bring it to the attention of all people that life is precious. Life is precious because you make it that way. Your decisions and actions make your life different than everyone else’s. If we all thought and acted the same way our society wouldn’t progress and we wouldn’t be unique individuals. If you want to become unique “there is no reason to not follow your heart”. Why would you want to be like everyone else? It is your life, live it how you want to live it. When the time comes you will look back and be proud of everything you …show more content…
Yes, I do many people might feel different about his philosophical ideas towards life. In his commencement address, he covers a lot of topics ranging from following your heart to facing death and embracing it. He begins his speech by describing his life as he grew older. His stories were about connecting the dots. Steve Jobs states that “So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever” and this quote is extremely valuable. In my opinion, I feel it is extremely valuable if you are connecting your “dots” like Steve Jobs did. No one knows what the future holds, so you have trust your heart and your instincts to help you succeed. Many people will disagree with my opinion only due to the fact that their heart is telling them to do something that won’t make a lot of money or it will make their loved ones feel disappointed in them. Everyone wants money and respect, but does that conflict with doing what you love? In my opinion it should not, but if you’re passionate about a career or anything you should pursue it. Steve Jobs later on in his speech discussed how he started Apple. He ran his company out of his parents’ garage. Steve Jobs was declined by many people because his idea of the personal computer was not popular at the time. He didn’t let that get to him. The failure at the beginning was motivation for him and he was

As a result from extreme hard work and perseverance followed by an unmatchable drive to succeed, Donald J. Trump has earned the right to be known as a multi-billionaire, real estate icon, and President of the United States of America. Reflecting on his life, he has faced many challenges and overcame them all. To understand how he rose to success and his journey to the top of the kingpin, it is important to recognize how he saw the american dream and pursued it. Today, many recognize him as the president but very few can fully grasp all that he has done in his life. From his start as a real estate mogul, to his impact on media, there are many questions as to how he became so recognizable today.
Three weeks ago, Trump’s title elevated from GOP candidate to president-elect. Following this revelation, protests erupted and injured countless civilians and law enforcers. Even high schoolers, trapped in the wrong place at the wrong time, have been tear gassed and endangered through the protests. Yet, these protests determine nothing: on January 20th, Donald Trump will still become president. While hatred continues to simmer below the surface, protesters slowly realize that their street performances cannot ensure a better future, only a violent present. As they become discredited about the state of their country, the democrat’s anger morphs into anxiety. With a president-elect, who, in the past three weeks, has altered his platform and changed
As kids are growing up, they hear from their parents constantly to find a good job. When parents are saying this, are they referring to the idea of finding a job that will keep their children financially stable or are they referring to them finding a job they’ll love waking up in the morning for? In Steve Jobs 2005 Commencement speech, he talks about the challenges he had to overcome to get where he is today. He believes that when you find something you’re truly passionate about then nothing will be able to stand in the way of your road to success. He stands for the idea of finding a job that you’ll love waking up in the morning for rather than just to gain money. Although Steve Jobs makes well-thought out accusations as to why everybody

Games. We all seem to enjoy them right?- I mean they bring jubilation to the participants. They are a great way of passing time and not to mention that they are immensely fun to play and if you win you end up with boasting rights. So, in general who WOULDN’T want to play games? The youngest generation is who.
Executive speechwriter Anthony Trendl once wrote “A commencement speech, simply, is an opportunity to share your experience, values and advice. The precise form is up to you. This affords the speaker a platform to say amazing, unlimited things.” Steve Jobs’ Commencement address to the graduates at Stanford University was delivered on June 12th, 2005. Jobs is well known for being the CEO of Apple Computer, Pixar Animation Studios, and the inspiration of many rising entrepreneurs. In his speech, Jobs makes it clear that his delivery will be outlined by three short, but important stories pertaining to his life experiences. Each story contains one or two main lessons intended to help these Stanford Graduates as they move on into a new world. Jobs’ over all speech structure, sense of wisdom and experience, topped by his widely recognized success, empowers his speech to be strongly convincing. However, with the happily ever after stories, promises in leaps of faith, and ideally controversial context with college graduates, the speech seems to be a bit less relatively persuasive .
Walt Disney World - touted as the most magical place on earth, but what do you pack for your very first Disney vacation?
I consider Steve Jobs’ commencement speech at Stanford University in 2005 to be one of the most effective speeches. He uses mechanics of speech to craft a well-rounded speech that is crowned by his use of rhetorical devices. Jobs gives relevant and fundamental knowledge of his life and experiences with his rhetorical approach. In his speech to the Stanford’s graduation class, he tells different stories of love, loss, discovery and difficulty he faced in his life to encourage new graduates as they continue to mature in life. He encourages students to pursue their dreams and not be discouraged by failures they might experience in life.
His personality and way of thinking played a role in his many un-ethical decisions. Steve was a man of great intellect, but he lacked heart, hurting countless people in his personal life and in the work place. He would attack anyone that got in the way of his goals. He was a rude and controlling man, and who lacked concern for the welfare of others. “One thing Jobs himself avoided doing was "helping neighbors in need." There is no public record of him giving a dime to charity, and on several occasions he was ostentatious in his refusal to do so” (Ferguson 2015). Is this proper ethics? “Workplace bullying also is very bad for business. Researcher Emily Bassman found that "employee abuse can have major bottom-line consequences" for employers. An employer may suffer direct costs, indirect costs, and opportunity costs as a result of abusive work environments”. (Yamada 2000) Poor ethical choices effect the profitability of a company. Steve was a genius for what he contributed to the technology industry, but he was not very ethical. He gained the world, but where was his
In 2005, Steve Jobs’ gave a commencement speech to the University of Stanford. His speech is a very motivational and inspiring to everyone that has listened to it. He talks about three stories that happened in his life and allowed him to be where he is today. Connecting the dots, love and lost, and death. He puts his life events into perspective and allows you to see how everything came together for him. Never giving up on what you believe in and doing what you love every day.
Summer has come to an end and school back in full swing. One is ready to crush the challenges facing a 5th grader. The last bell for recess sounds. Young boys race outside to enjoy the sun’s warmth. Name calling and horse-playing around immediately begins as they plan their weekend fun. Challenging each other to execute silly acts or daring one another to flirt with the girls across the playground. One yells out if you don’t jump from the top you are a sissy. Then one hears ask Julie out first. Recess is almost over when another one yells out he won’t…he’s a gay sissy. Silence has now blanketed the playground and one could hear a pin drop. Saved by the bell it was time to line up and head back to class. The final bell of the day
