Zoology is the branch of biology that studies the animal kingdom, including structure, embryology, evolution, classification, habits, and distribution of all animals and how they are in their ecosystem. They deal with living and extinct animals as well. One famous zoologist well all probably know very well is Steve Irwin known as "The Crocodile Hunter”. Irwin was from Essendon, Australia. He was well known for his Tv show "The Crocodile Hunter". Some of Steve’s professions were conservationist, actor, zoologist, voice acting, and naturalist. Steve became interested in animals when he was working at the zoo with his father. Steve's whole life he's been working with crocodiles and reptiles. He actually wrestled his first crocodile since the
Seaworld is a giant marine life theme park. The greatest attraction to these many theme park would be those killer whales. In fact, these killer whales are the face of the park. As gigant as these mammals are, seaworld is keeping them in some pretty tight quarters. Mr. Jett and Mr.Ventre says “Wild killer whales can swim a hundred miles daily as they socialize, forage, communicate, and breed. In stark contrast, with little horizontal or vertical space in their enclosures, captive orcas swim only limited distances, with most spending many hours surface resting.” The animals don't have the freedom they need. Also when taking the whales out of their natural habit the whales tend to be depressed and not as heath in that situation. They need their freedom in the big ocean blue. Bring them into the small living units, breeding whales in captivity all for the entertainment of humans. At young ages the calves are taken away from their mothers on to a new seaworld park. Mothers of the calves have even been seen denying their offspring.
When you think your average baseball player, what do you think of? The player usually has all of his arms, legs, and no physical disabilities. Anyone who plays baseball would think it is hard to imagine that a person born without a right arm is able to play the game and let only be able to be a pitcher. Jim Abbott faces all the odds and has ten-year career in the major leagues. Abbott had to faces many obstacles throughout life and his playing career. Jim Abbott grew up being picked on since he didn’t have a right arm. When Abbott was younger he would use a steel hook as right hand and other children were afraid of him. Also, they called him names like Mr. Hook.
One of the most well-known urban legends told is the story of Bigfoot. Much of the research has shown that there are several names assigned to the mammoth ape. According to Napier (1973), Bigfoot would be the creature found mostly in Northwest America, Sasquatch would be a creature named in British Colombia, the 49th parallel in the north-west states of America and Northern California, and the Abominable Snowman, or the Yeti would be the creature named in the Himalayas. Of course, “Wild Man” and “Savage” have also been names used to identify the creature. There’s been thousands of sightings across the world, but there have also been many misidentifications where those who think they have seen Bigfoot have really just seen an ordinary animal or person. Arment (2006) states an individual’s perception may color the eyewitness account. Such misidentifications include: hermits, fugitives, refugees, bears, gorillas, and simply people making up stories or rumors. In addition to sightings, there have been photos, videos, movies, and TV shows that strongly indicates the possibility of the existence of this creature. Though there is much evidence from sightings, myths, and recordings that Bigfoot exists, there is also much proof that it could all be a hoax. Incorrect sightings have led skeptics to argue over the existence of this being stating Bigfoot is really just a fable. So one has to ask oneself, does Bigfoot really exist or is it just another urban legend?

Australia Zoo is a 1500-acre zoo with over 500 staff located in the state of Queensland owned by Steve Irwin. It was first opened in 1970 by Steve’s parents under the name of ’Beerwah Reptile and Fauna Park‘(Australia Zoo, 2013). Today, Australia Zoo has become the biggest and the best wildlife conservation facility in Australia.
John muir was known as “the father of all national parks” and supported the national park idea. John was the one of the reasons yosemite is a national park. He also toured the forests with teddy roosevelt. He is one of the reason we have national parks. He figured out how the national park yosemite was created.
I think that President Theodore Roosevelt and preservationist John Muir had a nice trip here are some parts of the story "March 1903, help appeared. Muir received a letter from President Roosevelt himself, proposing a camping trip in Yosemite and asking Muir to be his guide. "I do not want anyone with me but you," Roosevelt wrote.

Learning from his mother and father, Steve developed a passion for wildlife and wildlife conservation. One of Steve’s jobs at the zoo, while he was growing up, was handling the crocodiles, and at the age of nine, he wrestled his first one. When Steve grew up, he decided that he would share his passion for animals with the world; he filmed a wildlife documentary television series on Animal Planet called The Crocodile Hunter. His show exhibited himself wrestling crocodiles as well as displaying different wildlife in their natural habitats. This show was a big success and many viewers were influenced by Steve’s passion for animals and helping wildlife. Whenever you saw Steve on TV or in real life he was always wearing an Australian khaki safari outfit which showed his true passion for his job; this proved to his viewers how genuine he was about his passion for animals, it was not a gimmick. While filming the show, Steve took over his family business and became the owner of the Australia Zoo. While running this Zoo with his wife, Teri, he shared his passion for wildlife conservation with his two children, Bindi and Robert. Steve Irwin’s passion for showing the world different types of wildlife eventually leads him to his death. Steve was filming a segment for his show on September 4, 2006, where he was snorkeling off the Australian coast when a stingray pierced Irwin in the heart and killed him. Although Steve has passed away, his passion and love for animals has been continued on by his family and many of the viewers of his
When the average person thinks about zoology, they usually think about a zoo and or animals. As said in General Zoology, many questions come with this topic. “What is life? In what ways are the various kinds of animals alike or unlike in structure, internal processes, and modes of life? How do animals carry on their activities? How are the many kinds related to one another? In what ways does man resemble and differ from other living things? The answers to many of these questions are provided by the science of zoology.” (General Zoology, page 3). While zoology does involve animals, the general study of zoology is far more complicated then one would imagine. Zoology is a branch of biology that studies the classification, origins, habitats and behaviors of organisms. Someone who studies zoology is a zoologist, and has the tasks of learning about new species and their habitats. It is a job that if mastered, can be one of the most fulfilling and knowledgeable careers someone can obtain.
According to Linnaeus, the main aim of classification is to explain the evolutionary process of living things and the way they are related to each other. Carl indicated that there are five botanical kingdoms (Pierce, 2007). The five kingdoms are further subdivided into other diverse and exclusive groups. The following is the hierarchical sequence of classification: the kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, and the species. Systematics or taxonomy is the art of classifying living things according to their similarity in characteristics.
In Biology it branches out to many different topics. It is known to be the study if life, and structure or bases. Decomposition is a main topic that interests me from biology, and includes different stages of Decomposition in animals and plants.
Ecology is the study of plants and animals and the certain environment that they live in plus what they do that is what I will be covering the following.
Because environments have numerous components and contain so much important info about our natural world, a really specific field of study was developed called environment ecology. While the actual research of ecosystems has actually been going on for much longer, the term for the research study of whole, living systems was developed in 1942. An individual studying ecosystems is an environment ecologist.
Ecology: the subdivision of biology that focuses on the interactions among living organisms and the interactions between organisms and their environment.
