It all started with Dr. Steve Harvey. Dr. Steve was a tall African American male with shiney teeth and a mustache with no hair. He was usually a humorous kinda guy always easy to talk to. He was on his usual run of the day, greeting people and always saying hello to anyone he saw. The next day Steve was headed to his usual job, Family Feud. He was driving down is his beautiful mini van. All of a sudden Steve was hit by a massive semi truck head on, he was instantly knocked out. Steve woke up on a little twin size bed in the hospital. His hands were gone. The doctor told him that he had to amputate his hands because there was severe nerve damage. He had no idea what was going on. The doctor explained to Steve what had happened. Steve had no family, no money, and nowhere to live. He had to do something or he would never accomplish anything. Then Steve remembered, he read this book about a place in the mountains where they could heal you even make you more powerful than you were. Only certain people know about this place. It was top secret. He knew that this was a huge risk to take but if it was true his life would be changed. He decided to take the risk. Steve new the idea of where he was going but he didn’t exactly know. He did research and read books and eventually after 6 hard weeks he had found his destination. He had to go to Hong Kong China. So Steve set off on his journey of a new life. Steve had to use just about all of his money to buy a plane ticket but in the end he thought it would be worth it. Eventually Steve made it to Hong Kong, and now the search begins. He didn’t really have the money to rent a car so he had so walk. His destination was at the top of Mount Hinge. He took a small trail all the way up to the top 2,000 meters above the ground. He finally made it. When he knocked on their glorious mansion no one answered. The two brothers began their travels and go to many places. They woke up in a different town and Joey was asking Josh if they had eaten breakfast. Without a quick response Josh soon got up and so did Joey and a walked a few miles to eat breakfast. They traveled long distances from week to week usually in a farmer’s truck. They often got rides from kind farmers who were willing or did not mind giving them a ride.
The story starts with Steve in his cell. He is very scared. He only cries at night so the other prisoners can’t hear him. There is a mirror in his room with names of other prisoners scratched into it. He looks into it and calls himself “Monster” . This is the name the prosecutor gave him and the others involved in the crime. He flashes back to when he was ten. He and his friend are throwing rocks and breaking windows then running from the owners. He is with strangers all the time now. He eats, sleeps and even has to go to the bathroom in front of them. He sees a guy make a knife out of a toothbrush. The day his trial starts a guy gets hit with a tray at breakfast. There is blood everywhere. He misses his family very much even his younger brother. His family comes to see him on visiting day and get to see him in court. His mother always looks sad in the courtroom.
The rising action of the story was when he would find friends and they would help him to realize certain things about himself. The biker that he met helped him get started on stars. One of the maids that he met on his trip had shown him kindness and through this, she taught him that u can always have a fresh start or second chance at life as long as you try hard enough. And the artist that he met at the ocean helped him learn that u shouldn’t always judge a book by its cover, there might be more to someone than you think.
Peak had to face climbing Mount Everest, his selfish father, and other people trying to get rid of him to finally know who is really his friends and family, and that friends are those who are caring and helpful without being so to gain something. Peak figures out his step-father cares and loves him more than his real father. Peak choose to help a friend rather than of getting famous, and that his obstacles especially Mount Everest, brought out people’s real intentions. Without friendship and love you couldn’t overcome obstacles. You would not know who to trust. You need friendship and love to help and be helped by people, and you need friends and family to have happy times with, and to overcome bad times with.

Buzzing around my ears are conversations in an unfamiliar language that intrigues me. It then struck me that after twenty hours of a seemingly perpetual plane ride that I finally arrived in The United States of America, a country full of new opportunities. It was this moment that I realized how diverse and big this world is. This is the story of my new life in America.
This story taught me that anything is possible as long as you don’t give up and you believe in yourself. The theme of this book is similar to the lesson that it taught me: never give up on those you love and believe in your abilities to make the impossible possible.
