The world around us involves cheating to get or look good. Athletes and teens are doing the same thing, injecting and swallowing a drug that is part of their everyday lifestyle. Lost in a world of drugs that won't put them in the Hall of Fame but in the Hall of Shame. Influence by pressure and appearance to do well is a way described as putting your reality upside down. Steroids have become an athletic advantage to those becoming the best. Steroids first used in the early 1990’s were used by players as an everyday supplement, providing a boost in their game. This has evolved into a daily habit for players and teen accessing a life destroying choices just to be the best for once. For steroids have developments in the scandal with “13 Major League Baseball players, including Alex Rodriguez- the highest paid player in professional baseball” (Woerner). Showing PED’s will destroy the things you love the most, but only “effective in the short term” (Woerner). Meaning that the little amount you took won’t last you a lifetime. We face the issue that players are not motivated to try hard, have an alternative option that puts a reoccurring substance in their body. Young adolescents should focus more on getting bodies into shape and ready for the sport they are pursuing. While upcoming stars should be making a name for them showing that without drugs can play my best and be the best too. But performance enhancing drugs have played a major role in sports, especially baseball. The usage of the drug has players performing over the top of others who work equally and mentally as hard. Enacting the new system will catch the players who are cheating in game of baseball with a blood test that checks if a player is enhancing their performance in the... ... middle of paper ... ... the drug but have made a big controversy about not using the drug at all. Causing a big dramatic scene that just makes the problem even worse for the person involved in the situation, though problems can’t always be solved to a certain extent.
