“They should be cooking or cleaning my house, that’s their job.” This is what a stereotypical male may say to his wife or female companion, thinking he is superior to her. Women have been discriminated against since the earliest of time. Men who think that are superior or more of a priority than women put so many expectations and stereotypes on women these days in the 21st century. However in reality, we live in 2017 and stereotypes and expectations do not mean a thing, because women contribute to so many of the positive events in today's society. According to the article “More Women Than Men Say They are Solely Responsible For Financial Decisions According to New Regions Bank Study”, “44% of women said they are solely responsible for making financial decisions for their household, compared to 35% of men.” This goes to show that women are just as capable of completing tasks as men are, and in this case they are more qualified and more capable, but society refuses to notice these minor decisions that amount to a significant outcome in one's life whether it be positive or negative. Also in the same article the author states, “Today more than 40% of the Regions private wealth advisors are women.” This also goes to show that women are extremely important and deserve to be respected and treated as good as men in society because dealing with an individual's life savings on a day to day basis is not an easy task and someone could easily mess up the money and then that would, in return, essentially ruin the person's life who trusted the advisor with their money. So this goes to show that women can withstand and uphold a strong responsibility just like men in today's grueling stereotypical society. Women are discriminated against in the worst ways, even dealing with the factor of a paycheck, whether or not possibly a single mother could have enough money to support her kid/s through everything because women get paid less than men for the exact same job. It’s just because they are females and that's why they get payed less. That theory is crazy because most women are solely responsible for dealing with the finances of their households, they could make or break their family, so if men thought they were superior, then why wouldn't they deal with the finances? This is because they know that women are better at this than they are although some people still refuse to see this theory through. Lastly, women have chose to ignore all the “what ifs” and defy all the stereotypes and boundaries set up to push them back down, and are making a rise up in today's workforces, this goes to show anyone and everyone who doesn't think that a woman is capable of doing anything more than cleaning a house is completely wrong and should rethink their ways. Also, this gives motivation to any young girls out there, it shows them that they can defy the odds and do whatever they set their mind or heart to and never to let anyone tell them no.
