Considering I’m not at all a television watcher, neither through traditional viewing methods nor online streaming, choosing a show to watch that would be entertaining as well as give me something quality to write about for this assignment seemed like an impossible challenge. However, as I thought more about this chapter and the topic of stereotypes, an interesting idea came to mind. When I was growing up, I recalled there was a show on Disney Channel titled “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody”. It was about these twin boys who lived in a Five-Star hotel. From my youth, I remember the show did quite a bit to break stereotypes with many different minority groups. One example I could remember quite clearly was an Asian girl named London, who was, for lack of a better word, dumb. I decided to re-watch the first episode of this show, and pay close attention to London’s character as well as how Asians are generally portrayed. …show more content…
