Summary:
Carrie is about a teenage girl named Carrie. She has telekinetic powers but no one knows this. She lives with her mother, Margaret White. Her mother is very religious. One day, Carrie gets her period in the shower, and her classmates laugh at her because she’s never had a period before. Afterward, Carrie confronts her mother about not telling her about periods. Carrie’s mother forces her to pray.
Later, Sue Snell, one of the girls who picked on Carrie in the showers, asks her boyfriend, Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom so she can feel included. He agrees to do so. Carrie accepts Tommy’s offer and they agree to go together. Chris Hargensen, the school’s mean girl, gets her father, (a lawyer), to try and sue the school because Chris was given severe punishment for teasing Carrie. He fails, and Chris decides to get revenge on Carrie at prom, with her boyfriend, Billy …show more content…

Chris and Billy then dump the blood on them. Carrie gets covered, and the bucket falls on Tommy’s head, and he dies. Not realizing, that Tommy has died, the students start to laugh at Carrie. Carrie, finally sick of the teasing and pranks, decides to use her power to destroy the school and the students. Carrie causes a fire that burns the school. Sue learns about the fire at school, and she assumes tommy has died, and she drives to the school, but her car crashes, and she meets a police officer. The officer informs her that the school has burned all the way down. People learn about the fire and they immediately know that Carrie did it. Carrie returns home and her mother stabs her “for her sins.” Carrie walks into town and sees Sue. Carrie later dies with Sue. The fire that Carrie started spreads into town and a lot of people die and lots of things are destroyed. The book ends with a letter that hints that another girl has
