It is often said that necessity is the mother of invention and technology is driven by need. Hence it is the technology that brings about an invention. Engineers nurture technology, thus it is an engineer’s role to bring about a sustainable technological change. Machines and mechanisation that bring about this technological advancement have always fascinated me. I first got to know about a machine, my bicycle, when I was in my 7th grade. I became interested in the mechanism of the bicycle once when the chain slipped over the sprocket. The efforts I made in putting that in place and also replacing the worn out friction pads of brakes piqued my interest in machines.
I scored 91.23% in my 10th grade exams and then opted for a vocational subject, Mechanical Maintenance. As a part of the curriculum, I was exposed to the crude lathe machines and the milling machines. I began doing small jobs on these machines as well as fitting jobs on bench vices from the age of 16. My 12th grade exams put me among the top 10 students in my college. I scored 90% in the exams and scored 192/200 in Mechanical Maintenance. The AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Exam) of 2009, put me among the top 3 percent of the 100, 0000 students who took the exam. The four years of my under graduate education provided a thorough exposure to the various specialties available in Mechanical Engineering, thus stimulating my interest in advanced research.
I faced a temporary setback during the second year of my engineering, when I was unable to clear a practical test for the subject I.C. ENGINE. I considered this as an opportunity to study that subject once again, this time more thoroughly. I cleared that practical in my next attempt and in the next two years of engine...

...dged entrepreneur and at the same time keep contributing to the field of operations research and industrial automation. My immediate objective is to work towards a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering. I am aware of the kind of dedication, perseverance and resolve I need to have for a fruitful career as a industrial engineer. I believe my background has not only qualified me technically, but also given me the right mind-set for such a career. An assistantship besides providing financial support would give me valuable research experience and will place me in good stead in my career. I wish to aver that I will make maximum use of all the opportunities bestowed upon me and shall pursue my goals with whole hearted dedication and can live to the high standards set by the Texas A&M University. I sincerely hope that my application for admission is favourably received.
