Education and learning are integral to not only endeavor to excel but also our quest for spiritual solace. In the aftermath of some recent financial events ethics are going to play a bigger role and leaders throughout the world will be tested by the choices they make. In my perspective, a successful leader has to firmly establish an environment for creating value not only for his immediate team but for the community through clarity of vision and facilitation of ethical decision making. Thus in today’s times, it’s absolutely necessary that business education sows the seeds of moral integrity, spiritual wisdom and chaste conduct in the future leaders. An international degree in business from a school with strong emphasis on innovation, research and sustainability thus becomes necessity for aspirants of global business leadership. It is this perspective which has drawn me towards Sheffield University School of Management. I can strongly correlate the vision and mission of the school with some of the guiding principles of my life and career. Belonging from a small township, my formative years saw me struggling for quality education and opportunities for personal growth. To help my father meet the ends for the family’s basic requirements, I, at a very young age, got involved in his clothes store and got an exposure to ‘customer dealing’ as a virtue in its rudimentary form. I made intense efforts to excel in whatever academic opportunities came along. I studied community development as part of my under-graduate degree in Agriculture, with developmental, economics and financial management as an integral part of my course which drew me towards a career in Banking & Finance. My competitive streak helped me obtain multiple offers from diff... ... middle of paper ... ...rsity in various oratory competitions. I have represented my undergraduate college in chess and football. I have also completed 200 hours of community service as part of college chapter of National Service Scheme of India. As a reward for these I won college level awards for three years and was selected as Student Representative in governing body of RAU Pusa, The Senate during my tenure in the university. During my professional career, I have been actively involved in staff welfare activities and team outings. I believe that my experiences align beautifully with School’s mission of educating global leaders. School emphasizes on fashioning leaders who contribute to the welfare and development of the global community. My background, education, work experience and competencies when garnered make me an exquisite fit in dynamic and research driven environment of School.
However, I have had the privilege to be a part of my school’s Model United Nations team, where I/in which I collaborate with and discuss our world’s most pressing issues with other students. The opportunity to attend Governor’s Honors Program is a chance to further my skills both in working individually and collaborating with students in a subject area that I am likely to pursue a career in. I believe that Governor’s Honors Program gives students opportunities to learn and grow that cannot be attained in a regular school classroom; and these opportunities will give me knowledge and skills necessary to achieve my goals. I hope to attend this program because it will benefit me in a variety of ways and make a lasting impact on my academic decisions, from preparing me to attend a high level university, to providing me with insight and experience in this particular subject area, therefore aiding me to pursue a career in this field of
Volunteerism has always been the most important element of my overall involvement; my first, long-term goal reflects this. Since I entered high school, I have pursued many opportunities that exploit my desire to volunteer. I thoroughly enjoy giving my time and talents to those in need as well as the character and communication skill development with which volunteerism provides me. The skills that I have earned through my work with and for others relate directly to those required to be a successful leader. Like volunteerism, leadership, the subject of my second goal, is also something I hold close to my heart. I am fond of leadership because of my experience with the empowering feeling that being a leader provides. Such opportunities to lead have pushed me to become a proponent of the development of leadership skills among youth through additional volunteerism with...
This means that I know who I strive to become, but reflection, mistakes, and reexamination still await me. I have grown a great deal throughout my years at this University. It appears that I fit well into Chickering’s model of development. My freshman and sophomore years were full of choices that shaped my development. The Leadership Certificate Program and my Service-Immersion to India (both conveniently placed in the middle of my college experience) led me to both reflect and grow as an individual and global citizen. The beginning of my junior year and my role as RA further cemented my concept of self by calling me to outwardly portray and uphold my moral identity. As the semester continues, I have become more confident in my own identity and often find myself actively developing my own purpose. My time at the University of Portland has undoubtedly shaped who I am and who I will become. It is certain that when I no longer physically attend this University, the Holy Cross mission will live out of me in how I speak, act, and live as I make a difference in the lives of
Firstly, there are many business leadership challenges and suitable solutions that could be applied in the post-GFC world. Globalization is the first one to involve in. According to Voegtlin, Patzer, and Scherer (2012), the negative side outcome of globalization lead to a corrosion of corporate legitimacy, a loss of public trust in directors and partnerships, and to the deterioration of social capital. To solve this, CSR has become a motivated method on the organizational program performing the companies’ conflict to keep legitimacy as a necessary resource of business conduct (Palazzo, Scherer and Suchman, cited in Voegtlin, Patzer, and Scherer, 2012, p.3). It is absolutely assert that management education is the second one to participate in the crisis. As global citizens, whatever happens to one happens to us all; as such, we should avoid isolating ourselves. Aware of the many paths to choose from in this field, including non-profits and think tanks, I will seek to pursue work for an international organization like United Nations to help it gain more access of knowledge from the most prestige minds in the world. At Tennessee Tech University, my undergraduate program should be described as rewarding and fruitful. Working at the International Education Office at TTU for the past two years has helped me develop the notion of respect for other cultures and traditions more since we receive multinational students and scholars quarterly. Furthermore, many of the international students I have met have become my friends for

Even though my story might not be the most sensational, I am happy to tell it if it means that even one student will be motivated by it. Diversity and individual contributions should be cherished collectively. A better world does not start with what you know, but how you face every obstacle. A can do attitude can make all the difference in the world. Competitions are not won with doubt, but with humility and drive.
I have chosen the five-year double-degree program in Laurier which aims to educate students in both areas of commerce and computer science. I am confident that my chosen program will help me in my future career plans and fulfill my desire to learn more knowledge. Personally, I have always dreamed to become a successful business woman who would promote local businesses to grow and expand to the international market. This is because I have been inspired by a video which talks about child poverty in the United Kingdom. It was extremely heartbreaking and in my opinion, the only method to effectively reduce and eliminate poverty would be positive economic growth and business expansion. Moreover, I am extremely interested in business because it also
In my life as a student I believe that success, as an engineer in this day and age, requires technical competence and a combination of leadership, communication, and management. I am fortunate that I have gained much of these skills when I was elected and duly appointed as one of the Student's Representative Council (SRC) members in my high school. Being a leader, I have learned and trained myself the importance to have a good discipline, communication and managing skills. With that good foundation at high school I hope to reach academic excellence, leadership and a deeper understanding of the world in which I live when I experience university life through dedication, maximum effort, and hard work and eventually participating and contributing towards university’s strategic plan of global excellence education. Therefore, with the commitment that I put on the university I hope it will cultivate the university diverse and inclusive community.
I am expecting my Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry from Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA) in just a few months, and hopefully the following information will allow me to go one step further in pursuing admission into the M.S. program in Biostatistics at the University of XXXXX. My career goal is to be a data analyst in health research and policy; where I will be able to apply my knowledge in statistics and pharmacy to make my contribution to the health care industry, and where I can support myself by doing what I actually love.
If there is a single theme, a leitmotif that resonates vibrantly and conspicuously through-out my life, it is my enduring passion for greater and greater achievements in academics. My undergraduate studies at Surya World College of engineering and technology affiliated to Punjab Technical University, India, were pivotal in introducing me to the various facets of Computer Science ranging from Object oriented programming to database management and varying subjects like Human Resource management and various programming languages. I always had a very keen interest in subjects related slightly to management, subjects like Business Intelligence and Digital Media, Human System Interaction as well as Mobile business and Technology have always attracted me. The syllabi in under graduation, afforded me the rigors of intellectual practice, even while giving me the latitude to discover their intricacies and practical applications of each and every topic that I encountered.
Education has always been a primary concern for my parents, who taught me that if I need to succeed in life, I have to be educated. Following their guide, I have always valued and tried to get the most of any educational opportunity I have had. Having grown up in a business family, I have always been interested in focusing my career in the business field. My Mother and Father own their own company, and they are constantly talking about business, which has inspired me to follow their path. When my parents retire, they want me to carry on their legacy. For this reason, I have decided to pursue my studies in the field of Business and Leadership at Marylhurst University. I want to pursue a well-rounded education at this established university where I also can have life experiences in the outside world, which will ultimately help me to become a successful leader in our family business.
Demonstration and dedication to one’s community comes with its values. It is because of actions taken in which the individual becomes the leader of their actions, the captains of their souls. While in school, many astounding credentials have left myself impressed by my own authority, blinded by the distance I have traveled amongst the world as only a mere, selfless figure in a world filled by wonder and opportunity.
Besides academics, fine arts and sports in school, I have attained leading roles in different groups. This year, I am the Spirit Leader of Student Council encouraging monthly goals and themes and assisting in school events. From creating a student council with a group of peers three years ago we have had success in many events and have found new ways to spread spirit, gather important information and assist with financial groups. Recently, I stepped up to be the leader of the fundraising committee for our ...
