Statement of Purpose
I would like to introduce myself as an enthusiastic learner of excellence and with that endeavor in mind I am approaching formally for the doctoral study to the department of Textile and Apparel Management under the College of Human Environmental Science of University of Missouri.
Regarding my professional experience, I have been teaching on Textile and Apparel in university level since January 2008 and I am now working as a Senior Lecturer at Southeast University, Bangladesh. Prior to teaching, I was engaged as an executive engineer from March 2006 to December 2007 in the Manufacturing department of BEXIMCO Textile Division which is the largest apparel manufacturing and export oriented industry of Bangladesh.

Manufacturing Processes, Operations Research, Industrial Management, retail performance were the other subjects which enabled me to blend the required action whenever a problem was posed to me. The demand driven supply chain management was the most interesting part that piqued my interest during my master’s study. At the beginning of my professional job, I found uncertainties and lack of integration in product and information flow between upstream and downstream sides. Therefore, I was inspired to conduct my master’s study on Textile Management to get an insight on focal firm and how it synchronizes itself with its different tier customers and suppliers. My master’s study honed my sense of exploration & focused my concentration on management studies that finally culiminating in my decison to pursue doctoral study which would expand the horizon of my knowledge and experience. I conducted master’s thesis, titled as ‘Category Management: The Effective Way of Managing Retail Business’, under the expert guidance of Prof. Heikki Mattila, Tampere University of Technology, Finland. In this thesis, a perfect scenario through different stages starting from zero is brought out to show how retailers and suppliers can overcome the power game and collaborate with each other.
