I conducted master’s thesis, titled as ‘Category Management: The Effective Way of Managing Retail Business’, under the expert guidance of Prof. Heikki Mattila, Tampere University of Technology, Finland. In this thesis, a perfect scenario through different stages starting from zero is brought out to show how retailers and suppliers can overcome the power game and collaborate with each other. It may be mentioned in here that a well reputed digital library of Europe named as Boras Academy Digital Archive (BADA) restores my master’s thesis which is accessible to everyone through this link: http://bada.hb.se/handle/2320/6727. My research interests in the areas of fashion supply chain and sustainability persuaded me to write articles and deals with relevant business and economics. I have so far ten publications; and among them five are in international peer-reviewed

Furthermore, students are trending to wear comfortable clothing to school, therefore the most common top are zip up hoodies, pullover hoodies, sweatshirts, and cardigans. Also, as our researches have shown that students prefer semi-fitted and traditional clothing, so we should design product that are comfortable and easy to mix and match. Therefore, more trended clothing properly is not a good choice. Moreover, in the interview with our AMM professors, we obtain some suggestions such as the units and wholesale price for each style, and the idea that basic styles sell better than fashion forwarded styles. However, there is one conflict. Dr. Sen told us hoodies do not sell well recently, which is opposite to our other interview, survey, and observations results. Therefore, we should find out what is the cause of this problem. Due to the fact that our targeted market are students, who usually have tight budget, our products should be affordable. The business environment is increasingly becoming competitive and challenging. In the recent past, manufacturers have found themselves facing the threat of dwindling profit margins due to unfortunate global events such as the 2007 global financial crisis and the on going Europe economic crisis. The fashion industry provides both creative and business-oriented positions, making the fashion world interesting. Fashion moves in cycles, and many, especially those who work within the industry, describe fashion as very fickle. When it comes to people one might work within the industry, fashion attracts eccentric, creative people who are often very difficult to work for and with, and those within the fashion world can be very brutal and backstabbing. Starting salaries can be very low, workspaces can be crowded and noisy, and schedules can be unpredictable and hours are often long and labor-intensive. Though, there is potential for large salaries, travel, and fun, there is can also be quiet, solitude, and security, largely depending on where one works in the field. If one works in the fashion ind...
Supply chain management has been defined as that process that involves the management of information, materials, and all the finances that are handled within and across the entire supply chain process (Christopher, 2016). The management is usually done through out the entire supply chain management from that moment when the suppliers are involved through all the manufacturing activities, different distribution activities, and the way that the products are served to the final product consumer (Turban, et al., 2002). The process also includes all the activities that different organizations offers to their customers as after sale services for purposes perfecting their services and products towards their highly valued customers (Christopher,
As a response of various environmental issues from the textile manufacturing industry, green or sustainable textile manufacturing has aroused in recent years. The idea and concept of sustainable textile manufacturing is involving ethical and sustainable considerations to the entire supply chain process, from textile production to apparel manufacturing to retailing. “According to the Ethical Fashion Forum (2011), ethical fashion “represents an approach to the design, sourcing and manufacture of clothing which maximizes benefits to people and communities while minimizing impact on the environment.” The ethical fashion industry follows an ethical production cycle which creates social and environmental value.” (Cervellon & Wernerfelt, 2012, p. 177) Consumers is the biggest contributor and the reason of success for the textile manufacturing industry, therefore, in order to promote the growth and future for sustainable textile manufacturing, the education and knowledge that consumers have on green fashion and a new mindset for business and manufacturing are crucial for the future of a better environment for

My second interest in Supply Chain Management arose from my assessment that it is a ‘rational’ specialty. I understood that its simplistic applications could find solutions for essential needs of humanity. I realized that Mechanical Engineering has an enormous reach from automobiles and manufacturing to medical equipment and nanotechnology. I studied an extremely stimulating curriculum diligently focusing on Basic Mechanical Engineering and Operations research which gave me a holistic overview of the engineering field. Hence, my penchant for the range and extent of science with Mechanical engineering as the cynosure grew.
The philosophy with which I approach my education are that all institutions of learning are somewhat like a factory assembly line, where students are molded and are expected to meet certain specific standards by the time they graduate. Education is significantly important for a positive future. Education allows people to reach their fullest potential and help others later on reach their fullest potential. In this paper in I will try to provide information on how I came about choosing my career choice in the fashion industry, from academic excellence, life-long learning, collaboration, openness, integrity, and service.
Sustainable fashion offers various benefits to both the consumer and the entire environment. For instance, it is noted that the entire process of sustainable fashion is worthy for the globe. In most cases, the fashion industry leaves behind a huge environmental imprint ranging from the pesticides in growing cotton to the landfill impact of clothes that wear out and the energy needed to manufacture every piece. Therefore, deciding on organic fibers or sustainable fabrics made from bamboo can also reduce the quantity of carbon emitted and chemicals brought into people`s lives. This shows how sustainable fashion if embraced can bring benefits to the consumer, the producer, and to the environment, which is very vital for future generations. Selecting clothes that contain the label “fair trade act,” during purchase emphasizes on sustainability in numerous ways. The first thing is that, it guarantees that the product was produced under safe working conditions. Further, it signifies that the person who produced it earned a fair wage since it is sweatshop free (Hethorn 123). The act of purchasing clothes considered as “fair trade” confirms that individuals and places mean more than the organization`s fundamental reason for its
