STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
When I look at the world where there are always some new technological developments for our environmental and energy needs, my interest goes on tomorrow’s technology, hybrid engines, powerful and efficient IC engines and alternate energy sources. As a child I was very much interested in motor racing and had a very good collection of all the automobile magazines and used to attend all the auto shows held in and around my city, which helped me in being up to date in the world of automobile.
It all started when I was 6 years and my dad gifted me a remote control toy car for my birthday. I loved the car so much and I was very keen in knowing how it works and how it moves. I had it with me for a long time but then it was time for me to know how it works so I had to open it up and as I opened it, I found how a small motor was powering the entire car and how its energy is used to move it. It was then I fell in love with automobiles and my love for cars has always been the same.
As I was determined in doing a degree in automotive field, I ended up taking mechanical engineering course for my under graduation. My college, Aurora’s engineering college affiliated to JNTU Hyderabad, gave me a good knowledge of the mechanical field. Four years of under graduation in mechanical engineering introduced me to several topics ranging from basic electrical and electronic machines, basic thermodynamics to advanced courses like machine designs, applied thermodynamics, machine tools, automobile engineering etc. All these subjects have enriched good knowledge but my interests are in automotive engineering.

Ever since I was a child, I have had a great interest for the automotive industry. From car trivia to novel innovations, my innate passion for the automotive industry has always made me research the minutest detail of every vehicle that interested me. Since elementary school I would draw sketches of cars which incorporated technology which were unheard of at that time; novel devices such as electrochromic windshields, HUD displays, and wind turbines which would constantly re-generate electricity for the car. While growing up, my hobbies largely consisted of constructing countless Lego and Meccano sets, and repairing my mom’s 19 year-old car. In middle school, math and science were my favorite subjects: applying science and mathematics to solve real-world problems has fascinated me and I have also taken further steps to reach my goals. By the age of thirteen I devised a scaled model of a heliostat power plant, which successfully powered a light bulb. Ever since I began studying science and mathematics at all levels of educations I have always had an interest in the production of useful materials. In the growing turmoil of today; a world full of global warming and diminishing resources, questions often arise in my mind such as, "can we make a more efficient, more durable and a renewable resource that will overshadow fossil fuels? and have less of an impact on our environment?" Up to now, I have not found a solution to these questions and answering these questions is a personal aspiration of mine which I aim to fulfil by achieving a degree in Chemical engineering and eventually I will contribute to the field in my own unique way. The debate surrounding sustainable energy fascinates me, having recently learned from personal research I have understood what an authoritative role chemists and chemical engineers play in the industry at the present time and how, by working as a team, they contribute to an improved future for the whole world. However, one of the main reasons that has single-mindedly driven me this far to want to study chemical engineering is a book I have read, “Beyond the Molecular Frontier: Challenges for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering” While reading this book, I had solidified my understandings of what chemical engineering is all about. Also, one of the main processes mentioned was polymerisation and is something I already study in A-level chemistry, it is something that not only interests me, but is a personal career aspiration of mine. I found my true calling at the age of 12 on a field trip to a milk factory. It seemed like the Disneyland of science with huge machineries, conveyer belts running all around, and instruments working about in their own rhythm with sheer intricacies and perfection. As a kid, I was eager to understand the mechanics behind this magical rhythm. The desire of gaining in-depth knowledge about Control System and Automation eventually led me to choose Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering as my undergraduate study.

I maintained a good academic profile during my undergraduate study, ranking among the top 6% of my graduating class. During my undergraduate study, it was the field of Transportation Engineering that caught my special interest and ever since I have strived to achieve my dream of becoming a Transportation Engineer. My interest for Transportation Engineering was sparked by courses such as Transportation Engineering and Highway Engineering in my third year. My interest in the field of Automobile goes back to my early years in high school which is when I decided to pursue a career in engineering. As a child I was always fascinated by the very concept of automobile. Further, my father’s constant involvement in the automotive industry as an insurance claims assessor further enhanced my interests in automobiles. He was the one responsible for showing me the correct path to pursue my career in automobile field. Hence, after having completed my primary education, I decided to delve straight into the world of mechanics and engineering and pursued a diploma in mechanical engineering followed by a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Since there were very few options in India & there was no direct path to get into automobile field.
From my perspective, excellent electronic engineers are a group of gifted and imaginative talents who bravely explore and innovate, change the world with passion and innovation. I have always dreamed of becoming one of them. For realizing this dream, I started from China 's Jilin University and then joined The University of Manchester for BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering to take more advanced professional courses. In UoM, I managed to gain GPA of 4.0. Yet, my pursuit of the dream does not end there, since I plan to apply for M.S. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Carnegie Mellon University, where I can receive the best education among the world.
