The day was August 16, 2015. About 6:00 pm. My cousin and I were on our way to the state fair in Sedalia. We were both so excited because we had never taken a road trip just the two of us. We had about a 2 hour drive ahead of us. That gave us enough time to catch up on our latest gossip and rock out to our favorite songs. As we pull into the gravel parking lot, the smell of farm animals and carnival food hit us. Our excitement grew. Walking into the gates I was greeted with the familiar smell of funnel cake. The further we walked the more it smelt like pig poop though. We had come to the fair for mostly one reason, the truck and tractor pulls but since we had gotten there a bit early we decided to walk around the fair. Two days before I had …show more content…
The way they fit, how they looked, everything was perfect. Being we knew that there was going to be some very attractive people, we both decided to look cute and i wore my brand new boots. It was extremely hot this day, let me tell you. It felt as if i was sweating so much that you could see my makeup running down my face. Don’t worry it wasn’t. Every year that i've went, the fair was crowded as can be but for some reason this day was extremely crowded. Kids everywhere, people yelling, laughing. Best feeling in the world. Do you know the feeling of true happiness when you’re with someone who you can be yourself with and everything just feels perfect? That was this day. Ever since we had both kind of grown up and started new lives, i cherish every moment i get with my cousin. Me and her had the type of bond you would have with your best friend except we got to be family. As the day went on the weather got perfect it seemed. The sun had pretty much set and we had finally stopped sweating profusely. My cousin and I went into the stands and got the perfect seats front row. We could see everything. Our excitement grew even more. Finally when it rounded 7 o’clock the first tractor had gotten all set up to
Within the few minutes of meeting, my cousins and I were treating each other as if we had lived together for years. We were sharing crazy memories and laughing like old friends. Just in the car ride to my grandmother’s house, we shared secrets among ourselves and sang our hearts out to our favorite tunes. Once we arrived, I met my grandparents for the very first time in person, and they embraced me as if I was their own daughter.
My family and I recently visited the State Fair of Texas. It is the biggest
Every step it got bigger. I was building up excitement the whole way there! I can see it very clearly now. I was about two hours before the game started so they didn’t let us in yet. Outside, there were booths and trucks that had a lot of fan gear and football equipment.
The case of the Indiana state fair was a clear example of what happens when an organization does not have a crisis management team, plan, strategy, or crisis organizational learning experiences. As we observed, so many individuals from separate departments did not effectively communicate with one another. It sort of reminds me of the whole Titanic disaster, only smaller in nature. Where there were so many signs, and opportunities to prevent the crises from effecting them directly. Unfortunately there were too many missed opportunities, and eventually it was a race against time, and time won!
Of course, there are the classic reasons for going to the Fair: the dozens of rides and attractions along the mile-long midway; the incredible variety of food and drink available; the many hands-on livestock exhibits; the opportunity to make hundreds of little goldfish paranoid by hurling plastic projectiles into their bowls; and, of course, the wide variety of special events. If you've been to the Fair before and are reading this article anyway, you may as well keep reading to see what's new.
...re problems with the buildings such as fire, and more storms. However, those events didn’t stop the people from coming and seeing what the fair had to offer. It took several big events to get mass crowds of people, such as a ball at the midway and fireworks on the Fourth of July. In one day the fair had 751,026 people in attendance, from people who paid at the gate and others who had passes . The problems that occurred during the building of the fair did not hurt attendance, and the fair was a success, changing America along the way.
During, the whole rodeo season I looked forward to going to the State Finals. I didn't attend the finals as a participant, but as a spectator. As President of the "Saddle Bronc Fan Club" for my friend Cole, there was no way I would miss this experience. We both had been looking forward to this day for a long time.
Nathaniel Hawthorne utilizes symbolism throughout his short story Young Goodman Brown to impact and clarify the theme of good people sometimes doing bad things. Hawthorne uses a variety of light and dark imagery, names, and people to illustrate irony and different translations. Young Goodman Brown is a story about a man who comes to terms with the reality that people are imperfect and flawed and then dies a bitter death from the enlightenment of his journey through the woods. Images of darkness, symbolic representations of names and people and the journey through the woods all attribute to Hawthorne's theme of good people sometimes doing bad things.
Valley Fair offers me a day of no worries. Once I walk into the park, all my worries drift away. Whenever my family goes to Valley Fair, I let myself forget all my worries and fears for a day. I do not care what my future holds, but care only about what I am doing at that point in time. Valley Fair is my haven!
It was in July, and we wanted to go camping. I asked my dad if we could go up to our family's cabin in Elk Springs, which is near Montrose. He agreed, so Chase, Tyler and I, all sixteen years old, packed our stuff and were ready to go camping. With excitement, we jumped into Chase's truck, and took off to the woods.
The atmosphere of the crowd was amazing.
then a few steps to go. To the back there was a balcony curving around the room and then under that there were all the merchandising stalls. We wandered into the mosh pit; we were only a few metres away from the stage. The sand is a sand. There was a hum of voices as more people filed in.
This interview helped me gain an excellent idea about a real interview situation. I took this opportunity seriously as I knew that this might be the only situation where I could judge myself before facing a real interview. Therefore I prepared myself to be as professional as possible. I believe I was right on selecting my dress, as my team member Nathan Copey said,
My favorite musical moment during the event was when the band explained the meaning of a few songs performed. Each song announced had a different meaning and a different reason for it being written. For example, the one song was written after the Cleveland Cavaliers won the championship game and how they felt. This was interesting to hear because if you’ve grown up in Ohio for your whole life, you understand what that game meant to everyone. To hear how a song/ why a song was created was a unique experience, especially when for once you are able to relate to it. Honestly, it made the songs more interesting, since you were able to feel the passion for that song along with them!
Wednesday, October 13, 2013 is a date I will never forget. On that day, time stopped for a moment. I was sixteen and only had my license for a month. I was so excited about having so much freedom, that I was driving every day, with no hesitation. I was invincible,or so I thought. This day changed my thinking completely. What started out as a normal day, quickly turned into one that was very different from any other. I had just gotten out of cheer practice and was on my way home. On the way, I realized that I needed gas, so I decided to go through South Carolina, since they have the lowest gas prices. It was not out of the way, so to say. It was just another rout home. It was not the first time I had taken this way, but, it was definitely the last.
