St. Vincent Island, Florida is a veritable paradise. Located in the northwest Gulf waters of the state, is is nearby, but feels far removed from everyday life. The beach here is remote and private, but well worth a visit. If your idea of paradise consists of taking in some beautiful scenery and enjoying the surrounding natural wildlife, you will want to check out this beach that has much to offer its visitors.

Location
St. Vincent Island is located in the northwestern Florida Gulf coast. It is the westernmost of the four barrier islands in this area. The other islands of this group include Cape St. George Island, St. George Island, and Dog Island. St. Vincent is part of Franklin County and is situated slightly offshore of the mainland. It is also near the Panhandle town of Apalachicola and the mouth of the Apalachicola River.

Beach
The main public beach on St. Vincent Island is Tahiti Beach. This beach is so named because its beautiful landscape is reminiscent of the same-named island in the South Seas. This beach is located on the far east end of the island and can only be accessed by boat. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge. When you are on the island, it is essential to take some time to visit this magnificent place. The purpose of this refuge is to preserve the plant and animal communities of the island in as natural a state as possible. There are ten separate habitat types including tidal marsh, freshwater lakes and streams, dunes with live oak and mixed hardwood understories, scrub oaks, pure stands of cabbage palm, and four distinctively different slash pine communities with unique understory species.
