St. Patrick was born in Roman Britain in 387 A.D. As a boy of around fourteen, St. Patrick was captured by a raiding party, which took him back to Ireland as a slave. Because of his abundant time in the hills and fields of Ireland as a sheep herd, St. Patrick became lonely. Turning to God in prayer, he developed a robust relationship with God; vigorously praying for God to deliver him back to his homeland. Just like the Israelites in the desert wandering, God provided for St. Patrick and brought him back to his homeland after twenty years in Ireland. Numerous years after his return, St. Patrick had a vision from God, which instructed him to become a priest. Studying passionately yet purposefully, St. Patrick finished Seminarian School and was ordained as a priest by St. Germanous the Bishop of Auxerre. Years later St. Patrick was ordained a Bishop and was inspired to travel back to Ireland to spread the Gospel. He arrived in
Patrick is a phenomenal role model because he is humble, gentle, loving, and devoted to God. During his time in Ireland St. Patrick turned pagans to Christ. St. Patrick could have chosen the path of Jonah, deciding the sinners of Ireland were not worthy of Gods forgiveness. Instead, he performed the miracle which was converting all of Ireland. Thorough all his accomplishments and work as a missionary, The Catholic Church deemed him worth of sainthood.
St. Patrick has amazing virtues which should be at the core of all successful and loving people. He is humble, kind, loving, and merciful. Yet another reason why I chose St. Patrick is because he is the patron saint of Ireland. Being Irish myself, my family and I have always found St. Patrick to be one of our favorite saints. Finally, St. Patrick has qualities that I can relate to. I have always found that being humble, kind, and loving is important. As well as following God and accomplishing whatever task he has set out for me. Without question, St. Patrick is the saint which I relate to

In this essay I have only shown three, but there are so many more and the traits of a hero are not only restricted to people who save lives, chase bad guys, or change the world. He overcame constant pressures with his determination, led a whole team with his outstanding leadership, and never gave up thanks to his passion. He is a hero to many, no cape, or superpowers needed. So now it’s up to you, is he, or is he not, a
Highly recognized by people, saints are famous around the world by people of all different backgrounds. Many different Christian-based religions have or use saints as a purpose to get people to pray more often than they would usually, or have them to be used as “communion saints”. There are over 10,000 saints, many with different backgrounds, histories, and meanings. Some of them are patron saints, which shield or protect a certain person, place, or thing. Saints can mean a lot of different things to people, with some of the most famous ones being Joan of Arc, Saint Agnes, Saint Peter, Saint Patrick, and more, But one of them, Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, is easily overlooked and stands for a greater message even through her hard times.

Santiago is a hero because he displays kindness, bravery and wisdom; also, he is considered a hero because he displays many characteristics of an archetypal hero. Santiago displays kindness, bravery, wisdom, receiving supernatural help, proving himself and receiving his apotheosis. Santiago is a hero in many ways. If it wasn’t for all of these characteristics, then Santiago would have never discovered his personal legend or his treasure. Santiago is a hero.

In his youth, St. Boniface encountered many priests or clerics who traveled from town to town. Through these spiritual conversations, it became evident to St. Boniface that he wanted to pursue a life with God. Eventually, after continuos begging and his fathers fatal sickness, he was sent to the care of the Monastery of Examchester. (Appleton) It is here, that St. Boniface expressed to the Abbot at the time, that he wanted to live a monastic life. The father of the monastery, after council, granted him his wish. Here is where the saint began to prove his love for God, and could begin his journey of the Christian life. After exceeding all expectations and surpassing the knowledge of his teachers, he moved to a neighboring monastery, called Nursling, whereby he studied under the influence of Abbot Winbert.(St. Boniface Church) Here he gained vast knowledge of scriptures and the spiritual exposition of the Bible. Here, he gained such a reputation that men and women from far and wide traveled to study scriptures under his guidance. At the age of 30 he was humbly ordained a priest and yet another branch of his life was fulfilled.
True role models are those who possess the qualities that we would want to have in the near future and those who interest us in a way that make us want to be a better person. They teach us more about ourselves and encourage us to make better choices. A role model is not just someone who is successful, but someone who has had similar experiences that we have had. In the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee demonstrates that Atticus Finch is a true role model. Over the course of the novel, Atticus stands up for his beliefs, respects everyone despite who they are and behaves as a true father. Atticus is truly the ideal role model.
Throughout the course of history there has been many remarkable people that have created an impact on the world. But what is hero? Robert F. Kennedy once said, “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or lots of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a ripple of hope.” Meaning a true hero is someone who can stand up for an idea, or can help eliminate the unfair treatment in which the rights of a person are ignored; and everytime gives people the faith that everything is going to be okay after all. John Lennon is a good example of a hero based on Robert F. Kennedy's description of a hero. John lennon is a hero because he peacefully fought against war through his fame and music, promoting peace and inspiring many people.
Francis of Assisi lived about eight hundred years ago. He was born in the city of Assisi, Italy, in 1182. He was the son of Piero of Bernadone, who was a wealthy merchant. He received a education and seemed to follow his father's footsteps as a wealthy merchant. In 1201 he took part in an attack on Perugia, was taken hostage, and remained a captive there for a year. After his release, Francis joined the army but couldn't complete his time because he got sick. This period of time would change his life forever. During his sickness, Francis would spend hours meditating on the Lord in an old church, and he felt God drawing near to him. Some people come to Jesus with a memorable experience, but others come to Christ through a process. Francis' conversion wasn't an overnight experience, but it was definitely real.
There are certain types of people that go out of their way to keep others happy. They influence and help others when they need it. While in this unique period of time, it can seem quite uncommon to see someone try to make a difference in their community. Most adolescents are much too absorbed in video games, cell phones, or other technology that comes into their lives to look at the bigger picture around them. This “bigger picture” consists of the community they live in, the school, church, and friends that mostly influence who they are if they so choose.
Heroes are brave people who overcome their own pride and insecurities to face the complex conditions presented to them. They put themselves on the front line to defend a moral cause. Dr. Martin King Jr. is an example of a hero because of his bravery for speaking out against racism during a time when this was considered very dangerous. He kept fighting because he believed it was something that had to be done for the good of his race and the entire country. He con...
In 1491 Ignatius of Loyola was born into a noble Basque family in Guipuzcoa Spain. (Pollen, St. Ignatius) He later decided to become a soldier in the Spanish army and was fighting in the battle of Pamplona; the French were invading the Spanish castle there. (Muthleb) In the battle his leg was crushed by an enemy cannonball. (Caraman, 25-26) The French soldiers were so impressed by his courage that instead of taking him prisoner they took him to recover. (Muthleb) During his recovery he came extremely close to death. At one particular point ...
