Joshua George Ms.Milliner 10/5/16 I want to go to st.francis because they have a good geology program and that's is what i want to major in college. They also have a good basketball team and i would like to play basketball. I want to major in geology because its one subject that i'm good at and i never lost interest doing it. Another to why i want to go to St.Francis is because of the location it's very close to home and i could always take a train there with no problem. I'm a C student so far and i'm trying to work on getting it to a A i've been struggling because my I put all my effort into developing my basketball skills rather than put it into my school work.It was tough for me last year because i didnt understand the work so that lead to me failing test and getting 0s for missing class work. The First marking period my average was way below what I usually would get. Now i'm more determined and trying to work to my full potential so i won't have to go down that same route i went junior year i lost all my privileges that year i wasn't able to do nothing until my grades went up. …show more content…
The reason why i kept falling is because i'm bow legged i'm bow legged and my dad didn't know. My dad is the type of person to get mad at you if you do things how he told you even if you had a faster more efficient way he would still get mad. A notice every time I got a question wrong or didn't do something the way my dad did it i got yelled at I was called various amounts of names. That lowered my confidence and my grades took a toll. I didn't want to do anything anymore i was scared to do anything. I got over it and I realized it's okey to be wrong because that's how you
Do your best to be successful. Even if you don't get all A's or don't have those excellent grades you used to have, it's okay. Make sure you're putting in as much effort as you can and feeling good about yourself. If you want to do better, look into tutors, talking to your teachers, or look at Youtube videos about that topic. 11.
St. Francis of Assisi was born in Umbria, in 1811. Growing up, Francis enjoyed a very rich easy life because of his father’s wealth. Francis was loved by everyone. He was constantly happy, and a born leader. Whenever Francis was picky, people didn’t mind. If he was sick, people took care of him. Even from a young age, Francis was in love with French culture. He loved the songs of France, the romance of France, and especially the church. Francis had a different idea of life than his father.
It all started when I was in eighth grade. My decision was Cardinal Hayes. Cardinal Hayes was the school my brother was attending and my brother had told me so much interesting things about Cardinal Hayes. My brother told me about their trophy room and how successful the school was. He also told me how much fun they had there. My friend was telling me about Fordham Prep, but I had payed him no mind. If my friend wasn’t there I would not currently be in Fordham Prep. After I stopped being stubborn and started to listening to my friend about my friend about Fordham Prep I noticed that it wasn’t bad, but actually good.
Last Semester GPA was a 2.8. I know that is an acceptable grade point average. I will work hard this semester to do better. The grade point average makes me upset, makes not want to continue school.I will be lenient given the circumstances I made myself face. I have many reasons on why I received the grade point average that I did.I have not grown much since arriving on campus. What kept me on track in some of my classes was writing everything down on my agenda or calendar. Also I studied when it was convenient. I also completed my assignments on time and done them when ask to. What I did not do was studied when I needed to, ask for help when I needed it, have access to necessary materials, and have a work schedule to get everything done.
Francis of Assisi lived about eight hundred years ago. He was born in the city of Assisi, Italy, in 1182. He was the son of Piero of Bernadone, who was a wealthy merchant. He received a education and seemed to follow his father's footsteps as a wealthy merchant. In 1201 he took part in an attack on Perugia, was taken hostage, and remained a captive there for a year. After his release, Francis joined the army but couldn't complete his time because he got sick. This period of time would change his life forever. During his sickness, Francis would spend hours meditating on the Lord in an old church, and he felt God drawing near to him. Some people come to Jesus with a memorable experience, but others come to Christ through a process. Francis' conversion wasn't an overnight experience, but it was definitely real.
I have learned a lot about high school from upper clasmen and my teachers. Now that I have learned that you need to keep your GPA up starting from your freshman year, I am going to strive for all A’s in all my classes because I want to be number one of the Roanoke Valley Early College Class of 2019. Also I want to go to East Carolina University and I need higher than a 2.5 GPA I should try to strive for the best. Even though 2.5 is the lowest GPA that East Carolina University will accept the seniors and teachers of Roanoke Valley Early College taught me to aim higher than a 2.5 GPA.
St. Francis de Sales was conceived on August 21, 1567, near Geneva, Switzerland. From an early age, he knew he was intended to be a priest. He kept this fact from his family, though, because his father wanted him to seek after a profession in law and politics. Francis attended the University of Paris in 1580, and later went ahead to receive his doctorate in law at the University of Padua. Amid this time, he never lost his passion for God. He studied theology and practiced mental prayers. Francis additionally partook in fencing and horse-back riding to satisfy his father. One day while he was riding, God sent him a message. Francis tumbled off his horse three times, and each time the sword flew out of the scabbard, causing both items
In my many years in school I have managed to stumble into a number of seemingly unsurmountable predicaments. I remember one in particular being in my AP United States History class. It was one the hardest classes I was taking and within weeks of the school’s opening I had an F in that class. I had become accustomed to my nonchalant approach to my academics and hardly ever worked too hard for a class. I managed to skate on by getting usually As or Bs but this class was different. I struggled with the workload and the amount of content I had to learn and remember. To matters worse my ability to participate in extracurricular activities was put into jeopardy. It was to catch up on the numerous assignments I had missed yet it seemed like every
When it comes to school, I have always been an “A” only student. I am slightly obsessed with my grades, and I have never had a “B” in my life. Originally, this pressure was put on by my parents, but now I am self-driven and I do not allow myself to have anything lower than an “A-”. Achieving no lower than an “A-” consists of lots of hard work and time management. Unlike many other students, I have always been one to complete my homework as soon as possible. Other students procrastinate and either don’t do their homework until late at night, or even the day
Overall, I am most proud of how my grammar, and my knowledge about math isn’t good but that I still be able to survived with an A before the final, and I hope that final will not bring me grade down a lot. Being selectived to be in this AVID class, I feel that I am really special and that I will try to work hard not only for my future career, but also for the impression of teachers, and that I will for sure recommended taking AVID to any of the freshmen that is coming from middle school next year. My main goal for the next semester is that since I didn’t any type of activity this first semester, I will try to participate in at least one of the activities at school in the next semester as one of my goal, and my second goal is that I hoped that my grades will stays the same, or even higher in the second semester of

The habit that I have is DOING MY HOMEWORK AND MY WORK IN CLASS TO BE VERY SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE.
Throughout my four years of high school I maintained a B average and had some great comments from some teachers. I feel like I really do not have a difficult subject I just become very lazy and do not try. Freshman year at my past high school I was really on top of my grades. As I moved to Lemoore and broke my arm I got very lazy my sophomore year. Junior year was a decent year I could have done way better. Now that my senior is here I ended my first semester with a 3.86. I am very happy with my grades and I have noticed I can not be lazy once I am in college.
Since a young age I became to realize that playing the school game would get me to achieve one of my biggest goals which is to attend a four year college. I learned that being a smart quiet non trouble student would get me to accomplish this dream. During middle school I would work really hard to always having straight A’s on my report cards. It seemed really easy during middle school since I didn’t have difficult courses. But this changed once I entered High School. I had to give more effort and spend more hours of doing homework every night. I was also determined to take the most rigorous classes available. Frequently I had to sacrifice my free time in order to do homework. Throughout this I was able to demonstrate to myself that I am capable
Throughout my four years of high school I have tried to maintain a B average and I get comments from teachers on whatever I have to do better. My most difficult subject was any history class. My sophomore year the class I struggled with the most was my history class and I ended with a D in that class other than that I was an average student. My sophomore year was not a really good year for me. My junior year I did way better in all my classes and the classes I did bad the year before I made them up by staying after school and making up credits at Jamison. I am much more satisfied with my grades this year than my past years. My grades have teached me that I am going to need to study a little more harder in my college years.
Another major part of my determination in 6th grade is having A average in all my subjects. This inspires and brings determination to be to have an A+ grade and get more privileges not only in school and home. Because of my determination for a good grade through 6th grade, I try to keep up with all the work even if I am absent, dismissed, or present. I feel if I get an A or A+ average, I am equal to my peers in AP even though I missed the first month.
