Christianity has become the largest religions worldwide today. “Christianity developed out of Judaism in the 1st century C.E” (2017, pg. 1). It originated in Palestine, a city located Asia, where Jesus Christ was born in 4 B.C.E. (Christianity, 2017). Christianity is founded by the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. It is believed that Jesus was the one who found the Church and chose Peter as the first leader (Christianity, 2017). Peter was an apostle and many of the other apostles believed that Peter was not higher or more deserving than the others. (Christianity, 2017) The people who practice Christianity are considered Christians. Christianity believes in the God, Jesus Christ. Both Christianity and Judaism are monotheistic, meaning they believe in one God. However, they do not believe in the same God. …show more content…

It origins back to over four thousand years ago in the eastern region of Canaan (Judaism, 2017). The founder of Judaism is a man named Abraham who lived in Mesopotamia (Judaism, 2004). People who practice Judaism are considered Jews. Judaism believes in the God, Yahweh (Judaism, 2004). Judaism is believed to be the first religion to state “that there is one God who created the universe and continues to control it” (2004, pg. 2).

Beliefs/Basic Principles Christianity has a set of core beliefs that everyone must follow in order to be considered a Christian. (Still need to talk about afterlife, suffering of sins, ultimate reality and divine beings for both of Judaism and Christianity) Judaism solemnly believes in obeying the laws of the covenants. Abraham and his descendants were the ones to lay down laws in the covenant along with Yahweh. Judaism necessarily do not have a set of beliefs they follow, but they strongly believe in following the rules set by the covenants (Judaism, 2004).
