Milk does not do a Body Good
When I was young, my mom encouraged me to drink milk. She told me drink milk will help me to grow taller so I’d better do it every morning, although I hated milk. Milk is still a main part of our health program and meal plan. We always been told that milk is good for human’s health and makes our bones grow stronger. It contains variable nutrition including calcium, vitamin, proteins which are needed for body growth. But recent research shows that cow’s milk does not that helpful for human body, oppositely, it is “poison” for human health.

It states “Milk is actually only one of many sources of calcium – dark leafy green vegetables and some types of leafy green vegetables and some types of leagues are among the other sources.” It is a healthier way to get calcium by eating green vegetables than drinking milk due to green vegetables do not contain fats so they will not cause other health problem. One reason we should not serve chocolate milk is there is too much sugar. For example, Chloe Baker, from the Australian Investigative Reporter, says, “That one carton of milk has 30 grams of added sugar, white milk to start has 12 grams of sugar already, that is more than soda!” Many people think that chocolate milk is healthy but, it really is not healthy at all. Also, “When kids drink just
This article goes into depth on the different components that make up breast milk’s nutrient content. The article also goes over the different types of milks that a mother produces when feeding her infant. It also brings up that every mother’s milk is different because breast milk will change itself based on an infant’s nutritional needs. Both authors work at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research for Human Milk and Lactation which means both authors have a strong knowledge about breast milk. All sources they
Let me begin with this. Public breastfeeding is NOT exhibitionism. It is simply the act of feeding a baby. Nonetheless, women are still facing widespread discrimination in public for doing so.
Since the beginning of time, people have been drinking milk. Even today you will find a gallon of milk in almost every refrigerator in America. Milk is, and has always been, a staple of our diet. Because it contains essential proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and vitamins, milk is considered one of nature's perfect foods. Unfortunately, throughout the last century milk has been subjected to many forms of modern processing practices, which deprive milk from many of its natural qualities and benefits. Therefore many essential vitamins and enzymes are lost. Processing milk has altered one of nature’s perfect foods and changed it into something nature did not intend. Because of the abundant health benefits in raw milk, this report will explain why it should be made legal for consumers to buy throughout the United States.
Osteoporosis has become a significant public heath issue in the Western world due to increased morbidity and mortality. Optimization of calcium is important in delaying and possibly preventing osteoporosis. Calcium is known to be the most critical nutritional factor in achieving optimal peak bone mass. Dietary dairy intake is an essential source of calcium necessary for sufficient bone density. While studies illustrate the value of dairy intake as a source of calcium and thus bone health, contention on this topic has followed. Discordant viewpoints argue no effect of dairy consumption on bone strength and negative impacts of excess protein leading to metabolic acidosis which impacts bone mass. This review will focus on the benefits of dairy intake for managing adequate calcium levels necessary for bone growth and strength as a preventive measure in combating osteoporosis.
The idea of pasteurizing milk bagan in the 1920s, and later became an aspect of everyday life in the 1950s. Milk that has undergone this process is normally prefered since it is sterilized, therefore lowering the chance of human illness. However, it’s not the 1950s anymore, and the idea of pasteurizing milk has lost its luster for the people that now prefer raw milk. Unlike the milk that most Americans consume, raw milk has not been pasteurized, or quickly heated to a high temperature to kill harmful bacteria. In raw milk, these bacterias haven’t been removed, leaving people at risk. E. Coli, salmonella, and listeria are only some of the bacteria that raw milk carries, all of which can cause sickness, or even death. Common affects of consuming raw milk are diarrhea, stomach cramping, and vomiting, but it's the rare ones: kidney failure, paralysis, and death that causes raw milk to be illegal in half of the states and illegal to carry over state lines in its final form. Nevertheless, people still actively seek out and consume raw milk because they believe its nutritional values to be greater. Controversies surround this topic on whether organic food

Recently, there has been a federal law change that says schools must provide a drink, whether it is milk or juice, and a larger portion of fruits or vegetables for after-school programs as well as before and during school hours. Milk and juice provide greater nutrient intakes as well as vitamins (4). Milk, in particular, provides a significant amount of calcium and helps build strong bones and teeth. Likewise, larger portions of vegetables and fruits give children vitamins, minerals and fiber that will keep them energized throughout the day (4).
Long-term benefits1 of breastfeeding for a child’s cognitive health may result from the fact that maternal milk is a rich source of fatty acids and other bioactive components essential for the brain development of infants. Breast milk is ideally the perfect food for infants. The carbohydrate in breast milk is lactose which enhances calcium absorption and is easy for the infant to digest. The content of calcium in breast milk is ideal for infant bone growth. It also helps protect the infant from infection by preventing the binding of pathogens. The lipids in breast milk is the infant’s main source of energy. It contains the most abundant fatty acid in the brain called DHA, which is also present in the retina of the eye. Studies show that DHA during development can increase cognitive function. Part of one of the reasons infants who are breastfed have a higher intelligence. The protein lactoferrin in breast milk helps absorb iron into the infant’s bloodstream, keeps intestinal bacteria from getting enough iron to grow out of control, and kills certain bacteria. Breast milk contains certain nutrients that helps protec...
Breastfeeding is the most protective, nutritional, and natural way to provide nourishment to infants. Human milk contains several nutrients including: vitamins, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and minerals. These nutrients are imperative for an infant’s developmental growth. Human milk also reduces the risk of developing morbidities, especially within premature infants. Premature infants, who are more prone to infection due their immune systems, benefit from human milk. Compared to artificial formulas, human milk provides antibodies and other beneficial nutrients to help with the development of the infant.

Calcium is essential to normal functioning in a healthy individual; this only leaves the question of where to get it. There are many sources available to meet daily requirements, two of which are dairy products and supplemental vitamins. Both of these options have qualities that make them appealing, so choosing might be difficult or even come to a middle ground. Some of the considerations to be made are: what calcium is, the types of calcium in each source, how much should be ingested daily, the body’s ability to absorb and tolerate calcium from the chosen source, and the interactions that might occur with other medicines and required daily nutrients. In both cases a decent nutritional diet still needs to be incorporated. It may seem like a simple choice between a couple of pills a day or 3-4 glasses of milk, but there is quite a bit more
