How will our future look like? We tend to fantasize about it but we never think about the effects of our choices in the present. We make decisions such as polluting our air by continuously using our cars in order to make life easier for ourselves. In the long run these decisions are being shown to be affecting our planet. In other words, we are destroying the world with our own hands but no one seems to care. Pollution affects our water, our land, and our air. These are the important basics that human beings need the most. Notably, there are different types of pollution that are affecting our natural resources. We need to take care of the ecosystem because we fully depend on it; Pollution should be stopped before we destroy the earth. Moreover, …show more content…
Nowadays, most of our activity on the daily basis is contributing to that issue. For sure, there is no way to completely stop it because we cannot control the development of technology. Nonetheless, we can help reduce the problem if we know how. I believe more people would help if they educated themselves about this subject. Most likely, you will have to sacrifice your living style. The problem is that we are dependent; for example you need your car for everything because your car will take you places faster than walking. What is wrong with driving your car? Well most of them contaminate the air; CO2 is poison for us. The best solutions, if you want to keep driving without harming the earth, is to buy a hybrid car; or just try not to use your vehicle at all. Motor vehicles do not benefit us because we do not use them right. Besides, a research in europe proved that if you use the car wisely you can reduce the amount of CO2 it releases (Evaluation of Bypass Influence on Reducing Air Pollution in Vilnius City). When you start your car just make sure you do it slowly, it will take less time and it helps the environment. You don 't have to stop using your car completely just try to avoid traffic, because is better to speed up since it lowers the amount of CO2 …show more content…
China is struggling to breath right now. The atmosphere looks terrible just by looking at pictures. The Environment is being destroyed by the big cities. According to the article, Atmospheric chemistry: China’s choking cocktail, the author, Markku Kulmala, admits that air pollution is the cause of 2 millions of deaths each year. Kulmala explains that the indoor and outdoor air is seriously contaminated that it contains a variety of gases. He points out that Urban air has many chemicals that it will not do any good to you. Now, china is looking to resolve this problem. This is possible to happen to any developed country because of their populations modern
One of China’s best successes has in turn been one of its biggest downfalls. One of the main problems is China’s greatest success which has been its phenomenal economic growth. This is one of the main drivers of the current environmental problems that the country faces. Factories dump pollutants into the air and water. It is difficult to see the Chinese government making the significant sacrifices required to improve their environment if it means slowing down their economic growth.
China’s economy is one very large indicator of its role in globalization. “In 2010 China became the world’s largest exporter” (CIA World Factbook). Without China many places such as the United States of America would be without billions of goods imported from China annually. An influx of companies moving their manufacturing to China has allowed people to flock to cities and find jobs. China’s economy has grown exponentially over the last few decades. In the last three years China’s economy has grown by nearly ten percent every year. Despite this influx of money to China it has also resulted in many drawbacks. For example, China’s environment has been obliterated. China burns more coal than every country in the world combined. Beijing has been so badly polluted that there are actually companies that sell cans of fresh air to people, and gas masks are a common sight. On January 12th 2013 Beijing’s air pollution reached a record setting 775 PPM. To put that into perspective, the scale for measuring pollution is 0-500 PPM. This set an all-time recorded high. In Los Angeles a high ...
When we think of air pollution we think of the refineries in our cities and the exhaust coming from our cars mostly. In reality there are many more pollutants that we don't think about every day. The six most common air pollutants are; “Carbon monoxide, Nitrogen oxides, Sulphur oxides, Particulate matter, Volatile organic compounds, and Ground-level ozone (nitrogen oxide and Volatile organic compounds reaction)”(David Suzuki Foundation). The fact is people are dying from air pollution and we are doing nothing to make it better, in fact air pollution is getting worse.
Pollution is affecting many individuals and life, as we know it. We need to do something about how it’s affecting our world. That’s why I urge the issue that more people should realize that pollution is an issue that needs to be prevented because of its negative consequences. Which are health affects, the total destruction of environments, and the death of animals and plants. More awareness must be brought up amongst the people and they must realize the long-term benefits it has for the world.
... This has resulted in increased pollution due to livestock releasing methane gas into the air. And due to demand for electrical goods from western countries, it has helped China to produce a capitalist economy. This has enabled China’s citizens to have a prosperous lifestyle, which has increased pollution due to the increase in energy use and waste production. Furthermore, although the Chinese government and its citizens are trying to tackle their environmental problems, it seems to be too little too late.
PURPOSE: To persuade my audience that we must take action now to control air pollution
Many cities are currently affected by air pollution and Hong Kong is one example. Hong Kong’s air pollution level often exceeds the recommended air pollution level put out by the World Health Organization, and Hong Kong’s pollution index was at “very high” meaning that it exceeded 101, for 34% of the time (Hunt, 2011). Another example, when Hong Kong excee...

How old is the average student when they start college? Typically they are 18 to 20 years of age now think of all the types of pressure that they experience such as school, work, boyfriend/girlfriend and possible living expenses add that to balancing time and most students are faced with chaos and a bunch of built up pressure. The main stressors I’d like to focus on today are picking a major to turn into a life long career, independence and lastly time management. Many college students are faced with deciding which major they would like to pursue after graduating high school, but for a select few they finish off with a two year academic transfer degree and have no clue what they’d like to major in as their dream job. In the beginning of what one job we want to do when we grow up for boys it’s often a police officer
Every day when looking out a window, people see a beautiful earth. The earth is intriguing, but hinges on a delicate balance. Many natural resources keep the grass green and the sky blue. Man has made quite an impression on our world, and has transformed the earth's resources into tools to make life easy. However, mans' manipulation on earth has become detrimental to the health of our planet and the safety of mankind. Through the use and production of resources such as oil and energy, man is gradually poisoning the earth. Pollution has become such a dilemma in society; there is no real control or a feasible solution to society's recklessness. Without complete change, our system will collapse. The earth will eventually retaliate with disaster, or corporate control of our economy will cause hysteria and depression. Evaluation of the consequences and repercussion of worldwide pollution, may give people a better idea of what the future holds.
Speaker Credibility: Has anyone seen the Documentary film called “An Inconvenient Truth”? I was amazed at how the earth was rapidly changing for the worse. This is why I choose this topic, to learn more about climate changes and inform everyone here about the climate change.
There is an estimate of 1.3 million cars in the world, in the United States alone the ration from person to cars is 1.3. That 's almost 255 million cars in the roads every single day. Just imagine, “Burning one gallon of gas creates 20 pounds of carbon dioxide, and the average car emits about six tons of carbon dioxide every year”(Global Warming And Your Car).Imagine how many tons of Carbon dioxide are emitted into the air by everyone in the world. The carbon that gets emitted into the air doesn 't just affect the climate it also affects us by polluting the very air that we breath. Air pollution causes around 3.3 million deaths worldwide every year. One of the biggest places with contamination is China, the main reason for that is because of all of the factories that they have and all the carbon dioxide that gets let out.People and their decisions are the main reason for climate change, they only think about the present and never about the
Hello everyone! Today I will be speaking about global warming but before I begin, how many of you believe that global warming exists and that the human population is the primary cause of global warming? I ask this because there are people who believe that global warming does not exist or that it’s “a hoax created by China”. But that’s not true and global warming is in fact one of the biggest problems facing the world today. There is a significant amount of negative effects for the environment and for all living beings due to global warming. And maybe some of you are not be interested in global warming, but the truth is, global warming is a big part of our world and it affects each and every one of us.
We all belong to the same world and all of us have the same responsibilities towards the world and its environment. This fact might be hard to digest, but if we continue to pollute the Earth at the current rate, all of the world’s ocean waters will become one-hundred-thirty percent acidic. This means that the ocean will be unable to sustain most of its marine life and only a few creatures will be able to survive in the water. A big population of people think that they do not or have few responsibilities towards the environment. People think that the governor of a country should take steps to help the environment. They leave it to scientists since they have the technology to prevent pollution, or that is what most people think. There are more responsibilities to the world each individual has than most of realize. The amount of negligence and ignorance of humans towards the Earth is taking a heavy toll.
