If you're like nearly half of the American population you drink soda on a daily basis. On average, a person will drink approximately 45 gallons of soda per year. In only one gallon there are a whopping 128 fluid ounces! Have you ever wondered what happens when you drink a 12 fluid ounces can of your favorite kind of soda? All soda have massive amounts of sugar. When this sugar combines with the bacteria in your mouth, it forms acid. This acid attacks your teeth and can cause irreversible damage. "Sugar-free" soda contains its own acid that also attacks teeth, so it is not the safe option. Each attack lasts about 20 minutes and starts over with every sip of soda you take.
