As the silly young kids we were, we all had dreams of becoming a superhero or even an astronaut. Later on in life, as time went by we became more knowledgeable and our answers became more serious. Being a doctor has always been a dream but becoming a pediatrician is a goal. Becoming a pediatrician is a rewarding job because pediatricians get the chance to work with children and young adults. Pediatricians get the feeling that you are doing good in the world by helping others rather than just helping yourself. Having this feeling will make an impact on one's ego and make one feel good about themselves. Being a pediatrician will show people that they are hardworking and committed to long term goals. These are long hours a week and in order to be committed to being a pediatrician one must be able to adjust your work hours to where it suits one's work schedule. The hours of work for a pediatrician are good enough to where one can manage to balance both their doctor life and regular outside life. When we were younger, most of us wanted to be a princess or an astronaut. Now that we’re older, we’re starting to consider more serious options. A sports medicine physician isn’t your run of the mill career choice, but I’m not known for running with the crowd. I am confident, hard working and able to stay calm under pressure. Sports medicine physicians diagnose and treat patients of all ages related to physical health. To become a sports medicine physician, you need many years of post secondary education and they make a relatively good salary. With most careers, there are advantages and disadvantages. Pediatrician need lots of schooling, training, and practice before they get out there on their own. Just think about it would you want someone working on your kids with no practice or training? Classes that they need are biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, pre med, medicine, cardiology, surgery, orthopedics, and pediatric. The training needed is things such as three - years residency and any other training that will help them. Another thing they have to have to be a pediatrician is they have to have good personal qualities such as communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and lots of patience. They need practice on these skills almost as much as they do to get the career they are wanting.
Although more than ten years can pass prior to the moment one first calls oneself a pediatrician, the hard work and dedication pays off when one saves the first life a helpless child.
