Even though Anzaldua was a well-known feminist and writer, she did look up to other feminists and writers. In “Speaking in Tongues: A Letter to Third World Women Writers” Anzaldua quotes other colored women feminists to help to further convey her thoughts of why colored women do not have a voice.
