The use of this form of punishment of spanking has been used for the longest time. Many parents have this form of punishment towards their children to help control their child in some cases. Like in the article “Spanking” by John A Addleman he adds to this argument of how there are many parents who strongly follow this form of punishment for their children. He added that there are parents who also believe that this form of corporal punishment is not abuse “ data regarding attitudes about spanking, have found that most parents believe that corporal punishment is a non abusive manner is an acceptable form of discipline” (Addleman 1). Many may ask what kind of corporal punishment exactly is acceptable to use towards your child. The form of punishment

I enjoyed reading Disciplined Hearts by Theresa O'Nell because i find that many people today do not know a lot about the Native American culture and what they have been through. Their cultures history is not talked about as much the African American or Hispanic's are. Most Americans know about the hardships that the African American and Hispanics had to overcome to assimilate to the level that they are today. I think O'Nell is trying to talk about the history of the Native American culture because, she believes that the reason that their culture is not well-known because of the fact that they have chosen to keep living like their ancestors and not assimilate to the American culture.

Anthony Farrington’s essay, “Kissing” effectively shows the author’s view on kissing through experience and advice from book references. Farrington does this by discussing his experience with kissing six women: Lulu, Deanne, Jenny, Robin, April, and Carolyn. Each person, he shares a kiss with he describes differently. Farrington uses side text boxes with information and advice about kissing from books, such as The Book of Kisses. He also sets up questions/answers about kissing and steps to kissing within these side text boxes. By using these techniques, Farrington creates a work of nonfiction that shows what kissing is and how to kiss from his own opinion and others opinions.
Proponents of spanking bans have a tendency to label spanking as corporal punishment. They then categorize it along with many abusive activities. Psychologist Kerby Alvy explains corporal punishment as, “pinching, pulling ears and hair, shaking, slapping, smacking, spanking, swatting, hitting, kicking, punching, paddling, using switches, hair brushes, belts and ironing cords, and having children kneel on gravel or ...
Spanking is permitted in many U.S. States but it does very by state. I would inform the parents that in the state of South Carolina, it is legal to spank your child for punishment if for sole purpose of restraining or correcting, and the force has is reasonable in manner and moderate in degree. (Kidjacked Spanking Laws, 2014) I have always felt that spanking doesn't work. It can temporarily stop the unwanted behavior, but the most effective forms of discipline are those that teach children how to control their behavior. Spanking could teach your child to be afraid of you when they have done something wrong, but it does not teach the child the real consequences of their behavior.
Spanking, a fictitious form of child abuse, is an appropriate action toward unruly children. It is a popular practice used to instill discipline and values in children, and is more effective than talking to or yelling at the child or placing the child in “time out” sessions. In the long run, spanking causes no damage to the child’s mental or physical health. Instead, it creates a basis for good behavior.
Rape Fantasies by Margaret Atwood "Rape Fantasies" was written by Margaret Atwood in 1977. Basically, this short story is about the narrator, named Estelle, recalling a conversation between several women during their lunch hour. It starts with one of Estelle's co-workers, asking the question 'How about it, girls, do you have rape fantasies? ' (pg 72) The story goes on with each woman telling their supposed 'rape fantasy' to one another.
...re the parents and I think that the decision should be left up to us on how “we” should discipline our children. “The key to effective child discipline is the implementation of immediate, powerful, and consistent consequences. A spanking can serve as a meaningful negative consequence in cases of undesirable behavior, but it tends to be most useful – and necessary – when a child is under 3 ½ years of age. Generally speaking, it’s our view that corporal punishment should be applied only in cases of willful disobedience or defiance of authority.”
Many people don’t know exactly what child abuse is. Child abuse is physical maltreatment or sexual molestation of a child. Child abuse consists of three categories, physical, emotional, sexual and neglect. Some Americans even view spanking unacceptable act and others see it as an appropriate form of discipline. Well, spanking varies on a thin line. If you leave a mark and/ or aggravated and take it out on the child, that is considered abuse. When you spank after the child misbehaves and doesn’t leave a mark it isn’t abuse. Some facts about child abuse are that approximately 5 children die every day because of child abuse, most children become victims of abuse and neglect at 18 months or younger, and 14 percent of all men and 36 percent of all women in prison were abused as children. Children of all sorts of ages and races that get abused every day; some children have disorders and long term effects and sometimes these children die. Then some of these children will never feel safe in their lifetime because they know the one who abuse them are somewhere out there.
Spanking is a disciplinary act that has been used by parents for years now. It does not seem like a big deal at the time, but spanking does have long term effects that can affect the child even when he or she is a adult. Spanking whether it is appropriate for parents or any guardian of a child should be allowed to spank their child or not. There is a lot of controversy because parents say kids need to be disciplined when they are behaving badly. Others say parents shouldn 't spank their child because they long-term outcome is worse and they are not teaching the child a lesson. Some parents agree with these specialist and don 't spank their child but use other ways of discipline that doesn 't involve hurting
George Herbert throughout his poem “The Collar” puts his thoughts, feelings and complaints on paper on freedom restrictions. He resolves to break free from the binds fastening him to the life he fights to be free from. In various ways, countless things hold down and confine us from doing certain things daily. All the way through history people fought for the rights that tied them down for what they believed in. Herbert explains in his poem that one requires some restrictions even if we cannot understand the motive behind it.
Just as some believe that physical punishments are wrong, there are many who believe this old fashioned way is the only way. It is vital that the spanking be administered within proper guidelines. These guidelines include: not spanking too hard, not abusing the child, and not being too aggressive. It is important to remember that there is a difference between disciplining and abuse. Parents make sure the child understands what they did wrong, but also make sure to not punish them in a way that is going to seriously hurt them. Most of the time spanking is used for preschoolers or younger children. It is most effective when used as a deterrent to undesirable behavior. Most people are spanking in this age because taking away privileges and grounding do not do much good at this age. Diane McNulty, a women from Colorado Springs, used spanking as her way of discipline and found that it was very useful and that her children seemed like new people after every time they got disciplined. When disciplining a child with spanking, it is important to know that with age, less and less spanking should be used as a method of punishment
