Hearing the rhythmic voice of Mister Chivo automatically took me back to those family Sunday mornings. The smell of fresh homemade tortillas traveled up to my room, waking me up before my alarm. “Deja de hablar,” my mom would scream as we tried to have a family meal and even though she was yelling, that was music to my ears. Growing up I was an only child for about four years, so everything I came across was knowledge my brain just had to absorb. My ears were a major factor of what shaped me as a person, not for their physical attributes, but for sounds they let me hear. As a child, all I heard around the house was spanish words being thrown around. They always say Spanish words have a way to ease the soul and that is exactly what it did to me. My soul was pounded with passion and it caused me to only be repeat what I was hearing. This triggered me to only know Spanish, and not have a clue what someone was saying in English. I would have to say that they were a major aspect into shaping me into the person I am today. I learned how to be the leader of a pack, how to influence those below me. I had the ability to have others mimic my actions, which lead me to wanting to become a leader. Using the power of my voice and firm stability, I guided my siblings into a better path. I gained confidence and positive recognition for being able to influence their decisions in succeeding at life. If it was not my for siblings, I do not think my confidence would be as high as it is today. They are a pure reflection of me and they show me my positive and negative attributes.I have become like a chameleon, changing myself to fit into my everyday environment.
