Did you have any food obsessions as a kid, and eat the same thing continually ?
Ordinarily, the one meal I am willing to kill over is spaghetti. The one person who comes to mind when I think about spaghetti is my grandmother. Her sauce is as thick as her history and the many layers to the dish represent the transitions she has had all throughout her life. Spaghetti is my go-to meal for heartaches, stress, and happiness. I can't just eat anyone's spaghetti or any type of spaghetti. First, it has to be my Mammaw's (grandmother) spaghetti because she adds the perfect amount of sugar and love into her infamous sauce.
She's extremely talented in the kitchen and it's because of her background. My grandmother dropped out of school in the 4th grade. She has a learning disorder and couldn't keep up with the class. She lived in a rural area, therefore a proper education was not one of

When something sticks to your bones, your full and satisfied after eating it. Not all spaghetti dishes give you this fulfilling feeling. To achieve this feeling, it begins with the meatballs because it's the heaviest component in the dish. she uses fresh thinly sliced onions, bell pepper, and a couple pinches of cayenne pepper. The meatballs marinate overnight and the solid circles go into the breadcrumb. My family likes spicy food a lot, so I have to drink about a river of water during this meal to calm my stomach.
By the same token, the fact that spaghetti is kid-friendly maybe another reason why I'm obsessed with it. I like the twirling the pasta up with the fork, or if you're weird like my sister than with a spoon, and getting the fork with the spaghetti up high in the air to bob for it like a fish on a baited fishing hook. Spaghetti is a finger food, well that idea might only apply to me. You have not lived life if you haven't picked up a few noodles with your hand and shoved it into your

As a child I remember that I wanted many things I saw on T.V. like Carl's Jr, Lucky Charms, Mcdonald's, Gushers, ect… When eating these food products, as you get older it affects your health. A good advice we can take from Wendell Berry is “Eat responsibly.”
Sauces are the hands that cradle the dish, serving to compliment the elements and bring harmony to flavor. Historically, sauces were the nutritional accompaniment to starches and also put salt back into food that had leached during the cooking process (Encyclopedia of Food and Culture 2003). Antonin Carême was the first to coin the term, mother sauces, which are the foundation for other sauces called derivatives (Cuisine Foundations 2008, p. 227). Sauces have evolved in design and can be a creative signature on a classic dish. When considering the benefit of sauces you are destined for cravings of Italian cuisine! Rao’s, the beloved East Harlem neighborhood restaurant is famous for its social clout and mastery of marinara.
Another one of her chores is to help with picking up after herself. You might say this is silly. Is this really even a chore? Yes! This will help teach her to contribute. Every little bit helps, especially in the fast paced world that we live in today. I am a working mom/wife that is also in school. I do not have time to pick up after everyone like I used to; when I did not have any children and was not going to school. So everyone contributing helps a great deal. Ms. Smiley states that, “good work is not the work we assign chi...
I have recently read “Spaghetti” by Cynthia Rylant. It is a story about a little boy named Gabriel who seems to be very lonely. Then he finds a little kitten that he names Spaghetti, and his loneliness disappears! I think the big idea of the story is that sometimes, little things can change the way you see things. I saw this when Gabriel wanted to live outside, but he then didn’t after he found the kitten, when he was thinking about a bunch of things but then he heard the purring and stopped thinking to go look for it and when he was about to go look for the kitten’s owner but then he heard the kitten’s purring and wanted to keep him.
Both 1984 and The Handmaid’s Tale are dystopian novels, however, these books are a lot more complex than mere portrayals of dystopia, it can be argued that they are explorations of dystopia rather than mere portrayals. In order to explore dystopia, many themes must be considered, such as; feminism, love and repression. Nonetheless, it is apparent that human characteristics are the driving point of the two novels, predominantly, the depiction of human resilience. In an imperfect world, it is important to have certain qualities which, if plentiful, it can mean success, whereas if it lacks, it can mean failure, this characteristic is resilience. The protagonists in each novel, Winston in 1984 and Offred in The Handmaid’s Tale face situations which leave them both in disarray, and both even consider suicide. The authors tentatively highlight human resilience, its limits and most importantly its strengths into the two novels.
“‘They score! Henderson has scored for Canada!’” Foster Hewitt wordlessly described” (Pelletier) when Paul Henderson scored the series-winning goal. This allowed Canada to win the 1972 Summit Series, a moment that no one would ever forget since it all happened during the climax of the Cold War. Prior to this, the Soviets had won the previous three Olympic gold metals since Canada could not use its NHL players. Thus, this provided Canada with the chance to play hockey against the USSR using its best players. This raised the question: if Canada were able to send its best players, would it still be enough to beat the Soviets? Everyone in Canada was certain that the Soviets would not win a single game, but little did they know they underestimated the extent of the Soviets abilities. Tied in the last few minutes of game eight, Canada had to score or they would lose the series. However, when Paul Henderson scored the game-winning goal, never before had a single sporting event meant so much to Canadians. Therefore, Paul Henderson’s goal is a defining moment for Canada in the twentieth century becauseit provided Canada with the opportunity to evolve hockey, proved that Canada and our democratic society were superior to the USSR and their communist society, and brought citizens together to unify Canada as a nation.
The Hunger Games was a critically acclaimed movie when it came out; however, some critics would argue that the movie can be sometimes too violent for its intended audience. In this essay I would dissert Brian Bethune’s essay “Dystopia Now” in order to find its weaknesses and compare the movie Battle Royale with his essay.
“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view – until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.” Harper Lee identifies many charcters in the beginning of this book. She was very descriptive of all the characters in the beginning of the book. Each character was described from Scout’s point of view. Throughout the book, Lee lets the reader see some of the characters in their natural environments. They are still written through Scout’s eyes, but instead of passing by them on the sidewalk, Scout is in their home sitting with them, or hearing personal stories about them. Three of these characters that Scout points out specifically are Jem Finch, Aunt Alexandra, and Tom Robinson.
The Great Gatsby, is beautifully written, and uses symbols effectively, drawing the reader in, and piquing their interest from chapter one to chapter nine. The use of color is most common in the novel, with the use of of many colors the author is able to subtly get his point across. Fitzgerald also uses locations like the Valley of Ash. Objects are used as a way to create mystery and suspense. The symbols help the reader understand the novel better by adding details that make the story more interesting.
There’s a lot more to being Italian than the typical stereotypes that we have come to know from movies, television and books. From the Catholic mobsters who kill during the week but always make it to mass on Sunday, to the “how you doin” views of Joey from the television show “Friends”, people often forget the more important parts of being Italian. It is a culture like no other, full of history, art, and most importantly, their passion for food. Italian food, in my opinion, is the best in the world. Italians put so much into everything they make that the time and effort is tasted with every single bite. One of my favorite dishes would have to be fettuccini alfredo and it just happens to be a fairly easy, but extremely delicious, dish to make. Trust me, if I can make it, you can make it.
... (I never get tired of eating it). As a human I find food tasting better when I am hungry. In addition, I must admit I am a picky eater, which sometimes prevents my mom from cooking different types of food. Possibly the best thing about being an eater is that you avoid the difficulties of preparing the meal, especially when you are known to cause messes in the kitchen.
First of all, Italian food is absolutely amazing. Food is a large part of the Italian culture, and something that everyone recognizes the Italians for. (logos) Italians make a plethora of delicious foods, such as pizzas, breads, pastries, pastas, gelato, wines, coffees, meats, and cheeses. The list...
The only food that I avoid because of a bad experience is deep fried cheese curds, and many would find avoiding cheese curds odd because I grew up in Wisconsin where deep fried cheese curds are considered a relatively popular food. Coincidently, my first time eating cheese curds would be my last. I was very young, and I decided after I had already eaten a sizable lunch that it would be a good idea to eat as many cheese curds I could possibly fit in my stomach. I then went straight to the back seat of my father’s recently bought car. We ...
My favorite meal is the chicken fettuccini pasta. I chose this dish because I can never stop eating it. The meal is made up of warm tenderized chunks of chicken, delicate smooth creamy white sauce, and many varieties of sliced up vegetables. However, when I was a child vegetables has always been difficult to eat. It prevented me from enjoying my favorite meal because I would always have to take out the mixed vegetables in the meal. As a child I 've tried avoiding vegetables, but was found throughout the school cafeteria 's food, my mother 's cooking, or many fancy restaurants. There was nowhere to run. Over the years, my mother knew I was struggling to eat vegetables. She worked very hard by coming up with her own recipes in order for me to eat healthy. From mixing in the vegetables into the meals I usually eat or to trick me into eating meat but was actually vegetables. Soon later I came to realize how much effort she has put into the meals. All those hour and hard work my mother put it allowed me to enjoy my favorite meal again.
