“I would like to thank everyone involved in this conference, and the organizers in particular, for inviting me to deliver this talk. I am very obviously an outsider and wish to come to this group to talk about something that is central to all work that you people are doing.”
Ladies and gentlemen, may I start my speech by welcoming the guests. Today, we are surrounded by most of the friends and family that have been important to us during our lives. Some have traveled thousands of miles, just to be here today. We welcome you all and thank you sincerely for sharing this special day with us.
The reason for this report was to explain the steps that were taken to create and implement this action plan and the outcomes. My three actions were established to help carry out my vision of bringing together the two sides by creating equality and harmony. First I wanted to create a better understanding of Aboriginal history, culture and their people within my family and friendship groups. I tackled this by talking not only in-person but also over social media about the past struggles of Aboriginal people and reduce the stigma and misconceptions that surround Aboriginal people. The second action was to restore trust between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians by involving friends and family in public and activities and events that are related to learning more about what gaps need closing and coming together. My third action plan was to eradicate racism and as a way to contribute to this cause long term, I signed up to be a Constitutional Recognition Campaigner through ANTAR. As this campaign is about changing the Australian constitution to include Aboriginal people and also to remove sections that have to power to stop Aboriginal people from voting and sections that give the Australian governmen...
Darwin Smith, chief executive officer (CEO) of Kimberly-Clark from 1971 until his retirement in 1991 has been identified by Jim Collins in his number 1 best seller Good to Great as “a Level 5 leader—an individual who blends extreme personal humility with intense professional will” (p. 38) . Collins (2011) goes on to explain that the focus of Level 5 leaders is not on themselves or their egos, but rather on the building great companies. Darwin Smith earned his Level 5 designitaion by taking a company that during the twenty-year period (1951 – 1971) prior to his assuming the reins of Kimberly-Clark had under-performed the market by some
Bujari Gamarruwa (greetings); I would like to respectfully acknowledge the Elders, past and present, and extend my recognition to the future ancestors of the Gadigal people of Eora Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the place which is now known as Sydney region. I am honoured to reside in the Traditional Gadigal land that continues to pay respect to Indigenous Australians, their unique culture and contributions. I would also like to dedicate my willingness to act as an active participant in reconciliation process through my teaching pedagogy as well as a proactive member of this society.
I hope that you can see my education and future are advancing as we speak. This doesn’t mean I haven’t had a few bumps in the road, because I have. Actually, some of the bumps have unfortunately been financial aid. But, I am growing. It is a day to day continual experience of growth and it’s exciting for me to see where it takes me. Again, thank you for this opportunity and all the work you do as an organization.
Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you again for being here today, for the wonderful gifts, for your good wishes and most of all for your friendship now and in the future. Here's to a wonderful evening.
Today is our first day of being the leaders, doers, and problem solvers of the future. Those who persevere, who give it their all and approach each day with optimism will ultimately meet success and happiness. Of course, there will be many a failure on that windy road of life, but with dedication, we can do anything and make any dream come true. But, as we grow older and encounter success, we must not forget those who have had it rough, whose lives may have hit some potholes on the way, and we must take care of those who need a helping hand. As each of us leaves our mark on the world, be generous and be happy, and always remember the good times, good friends, and lessons learned at Marefat.
And I am thankful to the brutal city for the space which outlines your limber beauty. To the man from Ghana who also loves the poetry of the stars. To the ancestors who do not forget us in the concrete and paper illusion. To the blackbirds who are exactly blackbirds. And to you sweetheart as we make our incredible

First of all, I'd like to welcome all the parents, relatives and friends, on behalf of the senior class. It has been a long, hard road to graduation and I know your presence here is greatly appreciated. My job as salutatorian is to reminisce on our past here at County High, a past that reads like a script of a soap opera.
To all those that spoke on behalf of the many passionate Somalis in the city whose beautiful stories are never
A community leader expands their collective experience, skills and energy to drive positive social change and enable their communities to thrive. Throughout elementary school and high school, I engaged in school clubs and special classes, volunteered in my community, took on leading roles for fundraising and acquired many jobs. I have become a leader in my community because of references from jobs or activities, connections with other leaders and by achieving high academic grades and excelling in sports, I have chosen to share my abilities with others and proceed to make a change.
Hi, my name is Pat and I would like to start today by thanking the seniors of 2012 for choosing me to speak today. It is truly my honor.
Valedictorian Speech Good evening fellow graduates, teachers, family members, friends, and distinguished guests. It is a tremendous honor to be the valedictorian of our graduating class. My job is to somehow be the voice of the entire graduating class, and take five minutes to say a few words on behalf of all 539 of us. Like most valedictorians, writing this speech was not an easy task for me. Not because I did not have anything to say, but because I was overwhelmed by how much I wanted to share with you all on this day. Tonight, we have one common purpose, to celebrate. We are here to congratulate, to look towards what the future holds for us, to wish each other well, and to, most importantly look back on our time spent here. So, I would like to start by saying 'well done' to my fellow graduates, who have all worked hard during the past several years to reach this milestone. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the graduating class for selecting me to speak here tonight. Ever since the news broke, many people, some who've I've never really met before, have come up to me and have wished me well. Perhaps this speech would be incomplete if I don’t say something to the teachers. On the behalf of my entire class, I would like to thank all my teachers: thank you. Thank you for teaching us, for leading us, for building us up as adults. I know that we have not given back to you the respect you deserve. I know that we have not told you how much we appreciate you taking time out of your schedules to help us. And I know that we have not said thank you for giving us a wonderful education. So, I hope that as I say thanks, you can forget our shortcomings and remember us for who we are and not from the mistakes we have made. ...
