The Soundtrack of my life
The world of music is full of songs from variety of genres that include pop, rock and roll, country, and has a way of effecting us. It’s found in almost every part of the earth, as a way of making the world more derive, and helps a way to relieve stress from our daily lives in this world. But, no matter what genre someone listens to, everyone has the favorite songs they like to play in the car or on their phones. As Billy Joel once said ‘’I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by, no matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music’’. I consider many songs from different artists related to Gun N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, Green Day, and Daniel

Powter to name a few. These songs define me as a human being, tells about the many hardships that showed its head every now and then that l have to learn to get through it. Despite this, the events shaped me in my later years and defined many quantities of myself, such as my personality. One of my greatest qualities is my hard working attitude and the song that best captures that is ‘’ it’s my life ‘’ by Bon Jovi. The song ‘’ it’s my life ‘’ by Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, and Max Martin from their greatest hits album is one of my many favorite that l like to listen to on the computer or in the car, because the lyrics are saying l have one life to live in this world to the fullest by my way. While l do not completely agree with the whole song, the lyric ‘’ it my life and it’s now or never, l am not going to live forever ‘’ suggests someone should take control of his or her life before too much important things slip through the cracks. When l first heard the song, l was at Joe’s place that was sitting on top of a hill, living every close to nature and l drove down in my Ponetic Am car. After arriving at this home, Joe greeted me and we walked to the garage at came with the house, showed me the right way to paint the wooden flower beds in this backyard, and asked if l wanted music playing while l paint for him. I thought ‘’ what the heck ’’, so about half way through listening to the speakers in the garage pumping out music, l heard the song and ask him if l could take it home to rip it to the computer. After that, the song has become one of my favorite artists and learned that we have one life in this world, from childhood to adulthood. But there is another song by Daniel Powter about the bad days in our life and the reason l do not take myself too seriously. The song, in tiled ‘’ you had a bad day’’ defines my fun loving side of my personality, where l like to joke around.
No matter how bad my day could end up, it is helpful to keep moving forward in life. If someone goes through life taking himself or herself too seriously, they cannot get the most out of daily life. After a childhood event, the fear of expressing myself has loomed on me, but l must not let this bring me down. Life is not always full of sunshine and happiness, sometimes clouds of gloom start to cover up the sun from view. I don’t know much about Daniel Powter, mostly because this is the only song l listen to that he wrote. Despite this, the tone is the opposite of what the title suggests, as it is uplifting to listen to. While the song is cheerful, there is another song that is related to my past life troubles that l buried for my own good and is mostly left …show more content…
behind. The song’’ Boulevard of Broken Dreams’’ written by American punk rock band green day in the ‘’American idiot’’ album released in the year 2004. It was the most successful song they made and sold over two million copies in 2010. I know little about Green Day, since l first learned about it this year after my elven grade was over. While parts of the song do not reflect my personality, the tone of the music tells of my many lows l had to deal with and almost was crawling through my past life. This gloominess stemmed from an event in my childhood that me in a despised-like state, which cause me to be almost as quiet as a church mouse. I did not try to make friends during that time or express myself much. The mood of the song suggest someone that is suffering from feeling bad and has experienced some heartbreak, so he or she is giving up on living life to the fullest. Thankfully, these feelings have mostly been put in the past for my own good to move forward in life, as going backwards will affect my future in a bad way. But, there is another song with a brighter tone that is one of my favorites by Guns N Roses showcasing my relaxed side of my personality. I have many favorite rock and roll songs by variety of artists, although ‘’Paradise City’’ by Guns N Roses best relates to my humorous side. I say this because, the lyric ‘’ take me down to paradise city, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty’’, means he or she wants to relax and enjoy the day at hand. I personally like to relax when l have no chores, homework, and other things at need to be taken care of. When there is free time to burn, l like to ride the bike or playing fetch with Delilah, which is mixed breed dog. Playing outside is how i relieve some stress of the daily dealings with life and playing video games when the day winds down. If i overload myself with stressful things that included jobs, chores, paperwork, and many other things or life would not be as fruitful. Sometimes it pays to slow down, enjoy life with friends and the little things, and then the big things will take care of themselves. Gun N Roses song ‘’paradise city’’ has been my longtime favorite in my life since l heard it on the video game on Xbox 360 called ‘’Burnout Paradise’’ released around the year two thousand and eight. Finally, there is one more song in my five sound soundtrack about my life that along with the other favorites define my personally as a human and shows the up or downs in my life. Lastly, the song ‘’sweet child of mine’’ by the same artist that is also one of my top favorite songs on my five song soundtrack because it reminds me of a simpler time during my childhood and was released in the year eighteen eighty seven.
Back then, l had a more carefree life with less responsible to deal with, but l must not let the past catch up to me. But I cannot change the past, as it is set in stone, but l can affect the future by doing something about it now. I miss the simple life once in awhile, but there is no need for me to stay in the past. Gun N Roses ‘’sweet child of mine’’ tone is someone having fun and enjoying what life has to offer, relating to my carefree side of my personality. Now that i'm eighteen, life has more responsibly as an adult in this world and to be successful, I must learn to navigate the road of life without major accidents and my soundtrack shows my
experiences. These five songs best tell of my many troubles i had to deal with, the shaping of my personality in life, and the reason they relate to me. So far, life has started to turn around for the better and my past events has defined me today. Everyone in this world has experiences, that depending on how he or she deals with the problem, affects the future in different ways. As Victor Hugo once stated ‘’ Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent’’. Sometime, life can be very hard, both emotional and physical, but the key is to keep going and to not give up. Life is like a roller-coaster of gains and falls in a theme park. There is times where someone may hit a brick wall and fall into a depressed-like state, but it’s possible to break free of the grip thought music. I’m a person that does not take himself too seriously in life and tries to live my life to the fullest. If l let time slip by in life, there would be many chances that would go over my head. My soundtrack is a reflection of my past, personality, the hurdles i had to jump over and how i live, and what makes me as a human being. Works Cited Music Quotes - BrainyQuote
The title of the song shines surprisingly clear, though it creates a feeling of being unpleasant and obnoxious for the listeners. The man in this song either feels rejected or disappointed at the world as it seems to be so cruel and also beautiful. Obviously, the world itself always has an equal balance of good and bad and you can never have both. Even though the man got his girl but he feels they are falling apart.
Which was no strange feeling to me since I turned to music to cope with whatever ailed me, because no matter what, a song, some headphones, and volume turned way too loud was always there. Returning to the supple age of ten, was a disconnect, mainly between the receptors in my brain that determine whether or not I get enough of the happy chemicals, but between what I am, and what I thought I was. I thought I was a kid like everyone else, I would be sad for no reason often, but moving many times, and having to be on my own for a large portion of my early to late teens, I thought it was how life was for most people in my situation. My situation was dreary at best, people bullied me extensively in middle school to high school, in the first string of serious relationships I had they all left because of some arbitrary meaning of what being happy should have been; coming to a peak on Valentines day of 2012, the first time I attempted suicide. Suicide is the focus of the song, how abandonment can lead to hopelessness and desperation to the point of the ultimate act of despair, death. “I guess I finally had the courage to go away. The promises we made were made hollowly. Sometimes you'd reassure me we'd be okay. But you'd always leave” (A Lot Like Birds. Kuroi Ledge. Equal Vision Records, 2013.
If one were to look back into the world’s history, one would find that an important and consistent element is the world of music. Music has presented itself in various forms throughout its spread and through our identification of its magical realm, people have been fortunate enough to come across a means of relation. Whether it is blues and reggae or rap and pop rock, there is music out there for everyone. Music can serve as a stabilizer for some, a relaxant to others, and to many a form of inspiration.
For many of us, one of the most accurate and effective ways to express the feelings that really matter to us is through music. We don’t only grow to attached to songs that are catchy, but also those with lyrics that we can relate to. It is not uncommon to feel like sometimes, artists can convey the way we feel better than we could ourselves. The storybook-like lines you read at the start of this page are a collection of lyrics
It is true that music has a compact link to our emotions. Music assists people to overcome the bad situations in their life, just like it did for Sonny, the barmaid, or some other people in the Harlem. Music has a tremendous effect on people’s minds because it makes them feel relaxed and comfortable, especially with the soft classical music. It helps distressed people stay smooth and peaceful. In fact, music is a remarkable way to ease stress.
Music is one of the most fantastical forms of entertainment. Its history stretches all the way from the primitive polyrhythmic drums in Africa to our modern day pop music we listen to on our phones. It has the ability to amaze us, to capture our attention and leave us in awe. It soothes the hearts of billions, and it is so deeply rooted in my life that it has touched my heart as well. Everyday I walk to the beat of the song stuck in my head and hum along to the melody. For me, to listen to music be lifted into the air by the hands of your imagination and float around for a while. You forget about your worries, your troubles and find peace within the sound. Every chapter in my life is attached with a song. Every time I listen to a certain song, thoughts of my past come flooding back
I am going to go out on a limb here, I think all the great films have a soundtrack that is memorable. If you think of your favorite movie it is more likely than not that the film will have a very catchy accompanying score. Now, not all of these soundtracks are as well known as their movie counterparts, however, there are many that are synonymous with the movie and in many cases are better remembered than the actual plot of the films they are attached ot. This list is dedicated to those soundtracks, the musical scores that elevated their films and allowed them to withstand the test of time.
Throughout my life, music has always been a major influence. It has the power to change my mood when I'm feeling down, but the thing I find most intriguing about music is that it doesn't always end up improving your mood: like all forms of art, it imitates life, which is not always portrayed in a positive light. The musicians that I admire most have the versatility to induce several different emotional responses in the same piece. This quality is present in most of the wide variety of music I listen to, from Russian composer Dmiti Shostakovich, to Chicago jazz band Tortoise, to California pop/rock sextet Mr. Bungle.
The lyrics the songs had changed the way I managed my temper. Instead of losing my temper in school, I learned to embrace it by listening to their songs. The members inspired me to want to learn the guitar, piano, and drums. I currently only play the piano and guitar. The drums are soon to come someday. In the 9th grade, to strengthen my skills, I decided to join the school band. Hesitating on the decision, I knew it was for the best. After joining, I was one semester behind; frustrated by the thought, I understood my situation. Driven to work intensely I got caught up. I’d spend the entire block completing what Mr. Leeth handed me. By the time it was for me to leave, I was completely brain dead. I still had one extra block and track practice to attend. In the following first few weeks I was already playing with multiple mallets, four to be exact. The entire Treble Clef was like the back of my hand. When the upcoming year came, I was asked to join the Pit in marching band by Mr. Leeth himself. I refused, knowing it was a mistake I was making. I regret that decision even to this day. Too worried what others would think, or if I'll get made fun of I didn’t join. In order to improve my skills, I’ve decided to join 1st block band. Mr. Leeth even suggested the same
“This next song is about music. It’s about my life, it’s about your life. It’s about anybody who’s ever had a bad day and then put on their favourite song and you crank it up all th...
Evaluation The task I was given was to produce a music video using original footage. I chose a ready-made song of my choice. I chose the song I Bet My Life – Imagine Dragons. When choosing this song I felt I could plan a video to catch the audience’s eye.
All throughout life we encounter certain affairs that can instantly change our whole domineer. These experiences we undertake can cast a ‘black cloud’ above our heads, leaving us in a dreary state. Only you can tell yourself: what will work exactly to get yourself out of that shadowy position. The reason I chose this poem is: I can relate to having ‘black days’ and having to find my own ‘peace’ and ‘balance.’ To me, this poem is more than a man just getting through one bad day; it’s about him teaching us that there is light even through the darkest days. Similar to him, I had to find my own peace of mind or ‘balance’ that would help me get through my tuff times. Even though his was through music and mine was through writing, all that matters is what technique works best for you to get though those days.
Driving home after a long, difficult day, I turned on some music, searching for relief. The CD in the player consisted of all my favorite songs: “Pee Wee Long Way( Chasing)’,” “Lil Boosie (Long Journey),”Lil snupe “(Nobody),” and many others. My number one favorite song, “(Chasing),” was the first to play. Singing along to the lyrics, my mood was immediately better. This song reminded me of what was important in my life, my dreams and money. I then realized what these songs had in common; they all reflected my feelings on life: don’t give up on your dreams and don’t worry about every little thing life throws at you, keep chasing your dream until you reach the top.
Music, a form of art, made up of unique and special sounds containing elements of pitch and rhythm can powerfully soothe one’s soul. Firstly, there are different types of music, and each has its own features. These sounds and features are what I admire in music because to me it creates a new form of communication to one’s consciousness. It stimulates our mind and gives it a sense of harmony and peace through the hardships that life poses for us. As a kid, I would always listen to music from any genre, deciding which genre would complement me the most as I grew older. In middle school, I remember going on the computer and finding a website/program where I could make my own beats. From that day on, I spent countless of hours each day making sure the tune sounded proper and pleasurable for my ears. At first, it wasn’t good, but eventua...
The first song, “Human” by Christina Perri, was first introduced to me by a friend of mine. The first time I heard it, this song really stuck to me. I felt like this song was completely relatable. It shows the vulnerability of humans and how deeply society and the people around us affect who we are. There are several lines in this song that stood out for me such as, “Your words in my head, knives in my heart. You build me up and then I fall apart. 'Cause I 'm only human”, “I can turn it on. Be a good machine. I can hold the weight of worlds. If that 's what you need. Be your everything.” These lines were really meaningful to me because I can definitely relate to it. As a teenager soon to be an adult, I am constantly wondering who I really am. Often times I tend to find myself just doing things people tell me to do, like a machine, in hopes of finding myself. I used to think that if I did what people told me to do, then slowly I might find myself. Instead it was the opposite, as I continued to do so, I start losing who I really am. As I continued to feed into what other people tell me, I started becoming someone that was not me, but something that society views me
