In this universe, your soulmate’s first words they say to you show up on your wrist during your tenth birthday. A soulmate is a person who's matched with another. Of course, there is more than one soulmate per person. Usually, if you have two or more you have to choose, I’m lucky in my own way that I don’t have to choose. My mom stated she had to decide between two people and that it was easier than people think. Dad would always say, “Destiny always knows what’s best, but who you belong with isn’t written in the stars. You write it with the choices you make.” Dad also told me there’s a way to know how many soulmates you have or if you have any at all. I did not understand what he meant until Mom wrote it down for me. “You usually see a flash
of color when you meet them, or you see a flash on your 10th birthday when you get your words. Gold - 1 soulmate Silver - 2 soulmates Bronze - 3 soulmates White - 0 soulmates Purple - one of your 2 or 3 soulmates died Black - When death takes your ONLY soulmate.” Yet, Mom said you could have zero soulmates and be another's soulmate. I asked her, “Mom, isn’t it rare to have more than one?” She answered with “No, it’s rarer to have one.” I didn’t understand why at first, but later I realized what she meant. If you have one soulmate, there’s only one person meant for you. That means you're special in your own way. I like the thought of that but the universe deciding our future is something I wish it didn’t have power over. I want to decide who I end up with. Though I don’t want to make the decision that could destroy my life and everything I worked for.
The Lais of Marie de France is a compilation of short stories that delineate situations where love is just. Love is presented as a complex emotion and is portrayed as positive, while at other times, it is portrayed as negative. The author varies on whether or not love is favorable as is expressed by the outcomes of the characters in the story, such as lovers dying or being banished from the city. To demonstrate, the author weaves stories that exhibit binaries of love. Two distinct types of love are described: selfish and selfless. Love is selfish when a person leaves their current partner for another due to covetous reasons. Contrarily, selfless love occurs when a lover leaves to be in a superior relationship. The stark contrast between the types of love can be analyzed to derive a universal truth about love.
Her mascara smudged onto the fabric as a tear fell down her cheek onto the fluffy white pillow. Her headphones rested in her ear playing songs that held many memories of the recently broken up couple. The song that her and the short, blonde, and shy soccer player had slow danced to, played on her ipod. The memory of their slow dance at the valentine ball replayed in her mind as if she were still in the moment. She replayed how he asked her to the dance with a valentine gift- a box of conversation hearts. They met at the school to go to the dance and he gave her the red and yellow ticket. She was dressed in a pink and grey sweater and the gym was warm with all of the middle school students combined
The structure of this essay is based on animals and humans mate choice strategies and gender differences and similarities. These factors are intertwined with males and females reproduction success for choosing the right mate and bearing the parental cost involved in the offspring upbringing. (Trivers, 1972, 1985).Animal males from the evolutionary perspectives seek fertile, strong, females as a security for their offspring reproduction. These males’ strategize for their mate choice by advertising their masculinity as men ready for a mate. (Buss & Barnes, 1986; Buss, 1987).The female animals chooses mate base on their sense of security so they prefer males capable to protect and bear the cost of parenting with them.(Trivers,1972).In humans, females prefer wealthy men with high status as mate (Bjorklund & shackleford, 1999; Buss, 1992) whereas males prefer to date young attractive females who considers as fertile with the ability for genes reproduction.

It was at that time in my life where family and friends started stating their opinions. They said that my life would be nothing but heartache and I was never going to achieve nothing in life. Little did they know they would be my driving force and inspiration to pursue my dreams.
Someone told me that everybody has a Soulmate and that you’ll rarely end up together. I was told most people see their soulmate at least once in their lifetime. I’ve always wondered if it’s true. Do soulmates exist? If so do you ever meet them or are they just another person you’ll never encounter? Some say they have actually married their soulmates. I like to believe that if there is someone out there who could be identified as your “Soulmate” that when you meet them it's a warm feeling, a feeling that it feels like all the loneliness goes away.
Similar snapshots of this one moment will be mirrored throughout different families and times both past, present, and future. There are moments of absurdity that occur in any family. Sitting stacked upon each other on a plush and comfortable couch, my Mother, Sister and I depict such a moment. When gazing at this particular photograph, one feeling overwhelms me: love. Simply stating “love”, however feels over-rated and unspecific. Just saying “love” is akin to comparing a puddle on a sidewalk to the ocean, the depth of the ocean cannot be explored through a mere puddle. My affection for this picture lies in the evident familial bond and caring that is displayed. There is this understanding between
Many marriages attested to the consequences of splendid and poor marital choices. These marriages exhibited themselves as either “a marriage compared to bearing the cross. A union compared to a foretaste of heaven.” The author, Gary Thomas, focused on Matthew 6:33 as a good example of purposely striving for God’s best within marriage and finding a blessed marriage. Many people disregarded Matthew 6:33 when searching for a marriage partner and dated on the basis of love and attraction. However, this verse, when abided by, showed a respectable guide for objective dating. When someone first fell in love, they tended to lose reason due to infatuation. This purloined their reasoning abilities and proved dangerous in dating. Instead, Mr. Thomas suggested that overlooking their infatuation to evaluate their reasons in dating and marriage based on godliness, character, and purpose proved far better. As people sought for a closer relationship to God, they developed a proper perspective of marriage.
My mother and father differ in their skills, and characteristics they use towards me. I will forever be grateful for the aspects they both have instilled into me. Although my parents may be different, and do not agree on everything, they both love me unconditionally. Living in separate households, with parents who are like yin and yang has been a roller coaster of emotions. Together their different techniques have molded me into the man I have
Love is also a big part of wellness, especially self love and the relationships that occur because of love. It is important to understand why a person is in a relationship with someone, what they want from a partner, and what they give as well. As stated earlier, having healthy relationships is a part of overall wellness, and being in a bad and/or abusive situation can once again hinder one’s overall health. My relationship with my mother became very problematic a few years ago and I felt the effects in all facets of my health. I was feeling sad and lonely, would become physically ill, and even started losing motivation. Separating myself from this unhealthy relationship was difficult but in the end I felt benefits in all areas of my life. Thus, love and healthy, safe relationships are so important and analyzing past relationships through a lens of what a healthy one looks like has shown me the problems that I will need to avoid in the future.
“Love is universally accepted by many people and the concept of love within the English language refers to a variety of different approaches, states and attitudes, ranging from pleasure to interpersonal attraction.” (Kendrick 123) My characterization of love encourages the intimate emotion I partake for my family. The distinct connection that we fashioned and the invaluable moments that we consolidated. In the perceptive of a mother, my children are my supremacy and the greatest blessing of my lifecycle. They’re my inspiration and motivation to continue progressing and becoming the best at what I do. With that in mind, Love relics your outlooks and approaches the linkage they become associated with. Consequently, this condition can fluctuate over a period of a specific time. Additionally, depending on your situation, your perspective on love can be an altering affect, creating a stable or inconsistent assessment. Furthermore, causing your love to intensify, decline, or even cease. Love in its essence, stands justly powerful and the beauty of it advances,
Soulmate, family, and friends’ support are some of the most salient things in one’s life. The love they give us generates hope to live. Without them the world would be as tedious as climbing up mountain Everest. “There is only one happiness in life, to love and to be loved” ( Sand) and “the best thing to hold on in life is each other” ( Hepburn). When we engage ourselves in love, we tend to stick to our soulmates and forget about our families not caring about how they are doing. Love doesn’t mean sticking to one’s soulmate and there can’t be two people in one brain. What defines love is that you have someone to count on. True love is defined by happiness, happiness which is not brought by oneness but by separating.
Love is a weird feeling. It’s been said that love has nothing to do with your heart, it 's all chemical reactions inside of your brain. Infatuation, attraction, crush is such powerful feelings that people do think that they are in love. Also, it is blind to the other person’s weaknesses and exaggerates his or her strengths. Similarly, infatuation often fades within a short time. However, true love is so real and so strong, strong enough that if it came down to it you would even die for your partner. Love as much more than a feeling. It is based on a well-rounded knowledge of a person’s strengths and weaknesses. Not so in the case of China and Jeremy, in T. Coraghessan Boyle “The Love of my Life.” Before we talk about them
When growing up in this day, with many of our fellow men and women trying to get a taste of the good life. They will try to obtain happiness in very different ways with how they treat each other. The choices I have made have given me great opportunities to create a better and more fulfilling life for me. The reason I believe that choices affect our lives so greatly is because most of us our given a fair chance in todays world. An example from my life is being able to get over family problems with my dad. I made a life choice not to have contact with him because of the man I saw when I was a child. The troubles in my family will help me be a strong and more independent person throughout my life. Having independence will help me continue to grow into a hopefully more successful adult. Making the choice in not having contact with my father was a difficult decision. It was hard to keep a relationship with my real brother because he still keeps in touch with my dad. My older brother may look down on my choice, but I believe that I made a better choice. In the future I may have regretted in not speaking to my father, but for right now I think it is better to cut all communication with him. Being able to make a hard choices in cutting communicati...
