Sophomore year was an easy going year compared to my other years before and after. Sophomore year was a year where I thought of my dreams and future. Even though I haven’t participated in any school clubs, I still felt fulfilled. Sophomore year was a year filled with new challenges.
After quitting NJROTC my sophomore year, I had to take a health and gym class. It was both of these classes that I dreaded the most. In gym I am not a person who loves to participate, because it occasionally gets rough. I am not that athletic and disliked the fact that you had to participate to get points. Not only that, we would pay the same game for two weeks straight. I only looked forward to free time every Friday. On the other hand, unexpectedly, health class was easy. Most of the topics discussed I already knew about. The health teacher would spice up the class by having us perform skits and demonstrations. One time she brought in drunk glasses of different intensity and made use walk in a straight line. All you could see was students walking 10 inches from the actual line and some walking in curved lines. The students actually seemed like they were drunk. Another project we had to do was to perform a skit from different scenarios. Each team had to write a script and the best performance was chosen from all her classes. Even though my team’s skit didn’t win, it was still a fun experience.
After a presentation in the little theater for the career-tech programs , I was determined to join one. Once I got home my

It was the most time I ever put into one piece of poetry. I wrote it after a character from the game Final Fantasy XIII. The letter was to the character’s sister explaining her feelings to her sister. The poem was really sad behind the sophisticated words, but I am still satisfied with the poem. Even today, I still have not written a poem that could beat this one I
This poem reflects on how when you lose someone you truly care about it affects you mentally. When we lose someone who we're really close to, we tend to hold a grudge and start questioning our love for the world. We lose ourselves when we
Walter Kirn successfully unearths some of the worst aspects of senior year. However, these reasonings are not sound enough to condone the discontinuation of it. Any issues found are the fault of the student or the school administration, not the grade level itself. Senior year is worth holding on to for both the persistence of learning and for solidifying relationships. Kirn mentions with pleasure his choice to leave high school early. Nonetheless the four year high school experience should not be demoralized by those who wish to value it for the irreplaceable opportunity it is.
My sophomore year of high school was far from ordinary. I was working four days a week part time at a gym, while trying to balance an AP course load, while also, maintaining a student council committee chair seat, and starting a non-profit for domestic violence awareness. This list does not include all of the
My Senior year in High School has officially begun, only one more year at Corona High. I know that Senior year is supposed to be fun, but I believe every year is an opportunity to improve. I have already set my goals for this school year. I believe I can achieve a GPA of 4.0 or above. However, there are some personal goals that I need to complete first. I need to stop my terrible habit of procrastinating. Another goal of mine is to pass my AP tests so I can earn college credit. I also want to learn new things, so I started to learn the basics of Coding, now I need to finish this course. These are some things I look to accomplish this year.
Overall I feel this poem is the best poem (of the three) to give the
2015 was a real turning point in my high school career. I finally started working harder in school and started to enjoy it more. Although the enjoyment came right back down, it was still fun while it lasted. My writing however, has greatly changed. SAT #2 was where I really started having fun. “For Susan was a sinner. She smoked Crack Cocaine every day!” (SAT #2, Nowak) That was the SAT journal that made me realize that writing didn't have to be a chore. However the second half of the year was a little different. I think I started to grow lazy. My previously fine-tuned papers were now pretty much rants. “Pink is used anywhere from romantic nonsense to childish obsessions.” (Gatsby Color Analysis, Nowak) For my Gatsby analysis, my writing was all over the place and covered a wide range of topics. Unfortunately it made it sound pretty bad. I am starting to get better and regularly
Accidental Love Letter to My Favorite Poet The first poem I ever heard that made me feel something, like really feel something—goosebumps running down my arms, hair raising on the back of my neck, and even at times gut-wrenching horror—was a spoken word piece called “For Eli”. A small, timid, and anxious looking person had projected so much emotion out of their voice and forced it onto the unprepared crowd. The passion was palpable; it seemed to fill the room until there was no air left to breathe, so I salvaged what was left and held my breath.
Overall I think this poem was sad as it made me feel sorry for the
This poem has been my favorite poem ever since I first read it. I like how when you read it aloud it has a great rhythm to it and sounds very sing-songy. I believe that this is a wonderful poem with a meaningful message and I hope that one day I can experience this type of love for someone.
In my life, I have been fortunate enough to have been given multiple chances on numerous occasions to participate in events and activities that have brought me out of my comfort zone. While not all of them coerced me on the path towards my future, they were useful to understand what other people may be encounter on a regular basis. One of my first opportunities that began to shape my future was when I went to a STEM camp when I was 9 years old. At the summer camp, we learned about some of the different programs they have at Miami Valley Career Technology Center, and we did some basic introductory projects so that we could see what happens in each class. The variety of the projects and unique experiences of each individual project began to expand my view
As young girl with big dreams I imagined my senior year of high school to be one of the best years of my life. I imagined going to homecoming with all of my friends, being the captain of the varsity soccer and cheerleading teams, going to Friday night football games, going to Prom with my perfect date, and going on a senior trip with all of my best friends. I never imagined my senior year to be the way that it is. I am the new kid.
Sophomore year in high school is very important time period of my life, because it is appropriate age to start thinking about your future and set your goals. It is also the right time to experience different things to get more clear idea of what you want to do in the future. Goals have to be followed by specific plans and steps. This year, I am hoping to get more clear ideas on the career that I want to get in the future, which is stage management.
Being a senior to me means more that just one thing. It means my last ten football games, senior project and, graduating. It seems like yesterday that I was in eighth grade watching my brother play football on the same field I am now. Back then being a senior in high school seemed so far away that I never took the time to think about it or anything. Now that it’s here I wonder where the time went.
My personal opinion about this poem is that is just really amazing especially how he put it together it just fits, and it has so much meaning in each sentence of the poem and as I read it over and over again its really a good poem and he is quite lucky to have a found all this pieces just fit together so perfectly and I cannot wait to start reading more poems.
About a month in I started to like the class, as I thought it was easy but not only was it easy, it was fun. Since I was the only one who actually liked the class I became Mr. Hicks my teacher at the time personal assistant. I would water the plants when they needed to be when he couldn’t because he was busy or had to teach and I really enjoyed doing it, it was quiet and I didn’t have to work or talk with anybody which I hated talking to people or working with them because they were annoying or never did the work properly and horsed around and I can’t stand that.
