Most of everything has been impacted by ancient cultures. One of the most noteable cultures is Greece. You can see parts of Greek mythology everywhere even on more popular brands, for instance Nike is the goddess of victory.
In mythology the Gods were always referred to as the best. That’s probably why they are used in sports so much. You can usually find Hermes winged sandal on track and field uniform because, Hermes was the messenger god and was very fast.
The Greeks have also impacted names. Almost all the planets names come from Greek mythology. If you did not know already the Greeks and Romans had the same gods but named them different things. Mars is the Roman name for Ares, and Jupiter

is also the Roman name for Zeus. Europa was a princess in a myth, and now one of Jupiter’s moons and the continent Europe where named after her.
The Greeks have also affected the entertainment industry, there have been remakes of the myths for centuries; And still even today there have been remakes and retellings of the story’s today, like Disney's Hercules.
Greek Mythology is popular because it usually has great power in it. So if you put Hermes winged sandal on shoes it. That is good advertising because Hermes was fast and so it’s almost like saying, “Hey! If you put these on you’ll run so much faster. Which Probably isn’t true. Concluding, if you use greater powers in advertising, like Greek mythology, it will attract people because they always want something better. That’s why associating things with god’s attract people.
