In the novel Maggot Moon by Sally Gardner the social setting develops the theme because, society treats Standish Treadwell the Protagonist, badly because he is dyslexic. The school Standish goes to makes him sit in the back his classmates and teacher beat him up. He believes he is not bright because his society has treated him like that.
