Social Psychology Research

The main focus of this research proposal is to address the study of social psychology and the role it plays in helping one understand human social behavior. In this proposal, one will attempt to explain how the field of social psychology will evolve within the next 10 years. Allport, (1985) maintains that social psychology is the scientific study that seeks to understand the nature of individual’s behavior and how they think, feel, and are influenced by others. To understand the framework of this proposal, one will focus on human social behavior as it relates to research in social psychology.
Social psychology is about understanding the behavior of individuals in a social environment. For many decades social psychologists have tried to understand the psychological perception that individuals have about themselves and others and how they affect one’s behavior. Many psychologists study human behavior to gain an understanding of how the human minds function. To test the theories of how the human minds function, psychologist’s study human behavior, also know as the raw data of psychology.
Studies have proven that no human being is born with knowledge or skills; however, every individual’s has a learned behavior that is either influenced or genetic inherited. Therefore, every individual born into a social and cultural environment are more likely to be effected by, family members, other social groups, religion, as well as languages. Most research psychologists study the genetic inheritance of an individual’s behavior while others focus on an individual’s development stage. However, during the process of psychological research, psychologists also focus on examining the influence that a community can have on one social behavior.

However, when conducting psychology research, psychologists are obligated to protect client confidentiality and privacy, maintain professional’s standards and follow inform consent rules.
In conclusion, one has prepared a research proposal in the field of social Psychology, in addition, one has explained five current research topics that relates to social behavior in the field of psychology research. The topic discussed include; interpersonal relationship, social influence, self and social identity, stereotype, violence and aggression. Each topic involves the study of human social behavior in psychology and is known as the raw data of psychology.
