I was very upset of seeing snow when I had to come to school early in the morning at 8:00 o’clock. Then I need to shovel the snow. In addition I got 45 likes and 6 comments on this post. I was pretty happy on this because I was able to share the weather condition and make everyone paying attention not to drive during that
The article “Social Media’s Small, Positive Role in Human Relationships” begins with Zeynep, the author, describing her thoughts and emotions when she saw robots that were designed to take care of children with autism. She tells the readers that she felt uncomfortable, but understands why people developed such technology. This leads into her introducing her thesis to the audience, which focuses on how technology is beneficial rather than harmful to our daily lives. Zeynep uses her responses to the article “Facebook is Making us Lonely,” by Stephen Marche to further her argument. Zeynep then talks about how technology exists to strengthen social ties with a combination of ethos through statistics and logos through reasoning. Zeynep gives reasons to why people rely so heavily on social networking cyber sites to
Currently, social media plays a significant role in our everyday lives and the way people in society interacts with one another. A few years ago, before its influence reached the point where it is now, the large platforms such as Facebook or Twitter which function was merely to keep family and friends connected no matter where they were or what they were doing, and the requirements were an internet connection and a smart phone or a computer. People would share pictures or posts to keep others “updated” on their lives and what they were thinking. Now social media platforms are far more complicated. In various of them, such as Instagram or Snapchat, it is not enough to only share a picture or video of your day, but it is almost a requirement and people are pushed to take an extra mile further away and make yourself appear interesting in the eyes of others. The “feed” requires to be eye catching, the captions should be memorable, the places one goes to ought to look way better than they actually are, you have to include friends in such posts to prove one have a social life outside of the phone. The importance of the number of followers, likes or viewers
Many people today may not realize how much the media, Internet, and Social Media impacts their lives because of how reliant we’ve become on them. In the first article I read by Derrick Speight, the main goal was to explain to the audience that reality TV is real, but in the scheme of the production, the writers and producers must transform the reality of it into a story line. In the next reading by Steven Pinker, the purpose of

The social media mask gives us the freedom to change what we communicate about ourselves to others.

However, the means and methods of reaching the public remained significantly limited until recently. Over the last decade, public relations has welcomed the use of varied tools, including new media, to further their reach and cultivate relationships with its publics. The term “new media” encompasses a variety of non-traditional methods including social media. Social media has become a significant catalyst in the communication sector of public relations.
