Socials media is used for social networking via Internet and mobile facilities by communicating and interacting virally. The main target for social networking and social medias are intended for businesses that market and advertise their products through customer involvement. Instead, society enjoys social media to feed on scandals, and cyber bullying. In which not all networks are safe to collect and give out information. As Andy Beal (2007) states “62% of social networking users are concerned about the security of their personally identifiable data. The fears run so high that 31% of social network users have already entered false information”. Another effect is that Knowledge is gained from false information written on platforms from people with no professions, though people trust what is given. Our generation is effected by this distraction and lack of productivity. Social media/internet effects society as we’ve become reluctant to the usage of communicating through technology for wrong reasons, in which causes cyber bullying, and blackmail. There are no limitation, security, for inappropriate fallacious content, or rumors. The virtue contributes to on-the-go news and feeds, along with free virtual meetings but consequences are false information and privacy transaction. Gordon Goble (2012) interprets the history of social media. It evolved for business communication purposes in the late 70’s. It started out with BBS, which was a platform, used to exchange files and comment on behalf of the download. Another platform was CompuServe, which was intended for sharing files as well as news communication access. As we spend all our time on technology we forget about what’s actually happening in the real world, and we actually lose our charisma as we communicated through words. Networking has become advanced throughout the years, which doesn’t only affect us, today, but our future generation. As children under the age of 10 already spend all their fun through technology and social media websites to play games. This has changed drastically comparing to the past, and its only getting worse. Our society should reduce and limit our usage of social media. We should make time for more important aspects in life aside from Internet based communication.
