Roughly 40 percent of fuel utilization in huge urban areas is identified with transportation. A perceptible measure of fuel is squandered due movement clog in crest hours. So by diminishing activity clog fuel utilization likewise lessens in this manner expanding vitality proficiency.

The reaction and effectiveness of this poster might have been different in today’s society because Americans take full advantage of carpooling. The creation of Uber and Lyft are methods Americans use to carpool. This poster marked the beginning of a new tradition in American culture. Carpooling since 1945 has been a method to save gas and money. Overall during my analysis, I was able to put myself in the mindset of an American citizen during this time period. In today’s society, this poster would be effective to Americans including myself because we actually take advantage of carpooling in our daily
Since the birth of automobiles in 1866, the majority of mankind has relied heavily on this mode of transportation, especially in the United States. According to the California DMV there are 24,290,288 licensed drivers in California (DMV, 2013), which is approximately 63.3% of the population. Ever since the invention of automobiles, gas emission into the atmosphere has become one of the biggest issues for mankind. In Garret Hardin’s essay, The Tragedy of the Commons, Hardin defines a common as a resource that is accessible for everyone in society. Clean air became a modern commons in this sense. The quality of air is especially bad in California where there are 31,388,901 registered vehicles for a population of 37,826,160. In 2012, the quality of air hit a record low in California’s Central Valley. If we continue to dismiss the issue of air pollution, we will gravely endanger our health as current air pollution related health effects already include lung diseases and cancer. The solutions to the smog pollution problem are to develop cleaner emission engines, as part of a technical solution, as well as raise awareness among the residents of the Central Valley.
reports a composite national average cost of 56.1 cents per mile over 15,000 miles of driving
Automobiles play an essential role in American society. As if being the major means of transportation was not impressive enough, automotives can be seen on T.V., in movies, in magazines, and can sometimes be indicative of a person’s wealth and social status. On average, Americans drive nearly 40 miles and drive for just over 50 minutes driving per person per day (http://www.bts.gov). That means a person spends roughly one-sixteenth of a day driving. It would make sense, then, to make such an essential part of society as efficient, cost effective, and clean as possible. However, that is not the case. As the years have passed cars have actually begun to move away from efficiency. Hawken writes, “[The automobile] design process has made cars ever heavier, more complex, and usually costlier. These are all unmistakable signs that automaking has beco...
Pollution is a major problem for all of us. People need to recognize this situation so we can start making a difference to this problem. In order to start making a difference, the federal government should increase gasoline tax by one dollar a gallon. Fifty percent of this dollar will go towards public transportation, since passenger cars and trucks are a major contribution towards air pollution, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, E.P.A (10/4, http://www.epa.gov/autoemissions/emsns.html). Due to the expected increase after this is put forth, the remaining fifty percent of the dollar will go towards safety on these transits. When public transportation increases, air pollution will decrease, which will lessen the harmful health risks towards the environment.
Gas prices rise and lower at very fast rates every month. According to a 2012 report by The Huffington Post, the average human will spend two thousand dollars to fill up their tank every year. Electric cars will turn that statistic into zero dollars a year for certain people that have made the switch. According to Mary Kathryn Campbell, “The average cost of electricity in the US is 12 cents per kWh. Therefore, the average person driving an average EV 15,000 miles per year pays about $540.00 per year to charge it.”
This is one of the biggest benefits since as I mentioned earlier over 37,000 deaths a year are from car accidents. It has the potential to make the streets a lot safer by eliminating bad driving of people. It would save the pedestrians walking in the street because the vehicle lets them know it is safe to cross the street and also know they are there at night to avoid colliding with them. Another significant benefit would be the improved street traffic since the cars communicates to each other it eliminates the rush hour traffic because the cars know where each other are and they know what they need to do. It is a significant benefit because if the cars are autonomous they can get closer to each other allowing the ability for more cars to move at the same speed on highways reducing the stopped traffic they could maneuver safely around each other and automatically go at the same time with one another.
Today, people use their own personal vehicles to travel more than ever before. Personal transportation is no longer considered a luxury; it is now considered a necessity. The number of cars in the United States has been growing steadily since the 1970s. The number of miles traveled by cars has risen nearly 150 percent, yet the United States population has only grown roughly 40 percent during that time (hybridcars.com, Driving Trends). Although it may seem like we are advancing into the future, in reality, we are moving backwards from the effects these vehicles have on our bodies and the environment. The pollution produced by these vehicles has brought us to the day where we must find other modes of transportation that cause less harm to the world in which we live. Advances in technology have developed hybrid vehicles to try and slow down the amount of pollution. Driving a hybrid vehicle, instead of a conventional gas powered vehicle, can reduce the amount of pollution that affects our lives and the environment around us.
Another reason is a desire to lessen greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions‒which is attractive a requirement for doing production in some jurisdiction and is supported by federal and state tax incentive. It has been predictable that plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, which use an exciting motor with a gas engine as backup when the battery is depleted, can reduce GHG emissions by as much as 30% compared to a established vehicle over its lifetime (even when the emissions associated with power generation are taken into kindness).
By carpooling it helps to reduce number of cars on the road thus, reducing emission of harmful gases into the air. Based on the Air pollution and Death Due to Cardiovascular Diseases by Rashidi and his team, state that transportation causes 56% of air pollution. If the harmful gases are too concentrated, it may cause illnesses towards living things like human, animals and plants. Although plants use carbon dioxide for photosynthesis process but it can no longer stand if the CO2 gas or known as greenhouse gas exceeding the needs. When the greenhouse gases are too concentrated it may cause global warming to the Earth. This can be a serious problem because Earth is the place where we are living. We need more oxygento inhale and survive healthily. The traffic congestion can also be keeping to the minimum if cars numbers getting lesser and lesser. So, less time needed to reach destination
Both of the two auto vehicles are brought into the human industry as the use of benefit students’ lives become more convenient traveler. In commons, the two automobile created opportunities jobs in the economic companies’ nation. Plus, several students did not noticed that both cars and public transportation have one major similar concept where two of the transit vehicle produce environmental pollution, traffic congestion, and oil consumption problems. Encounter, the public transportation and cars can cause a huge impact to the environmental which it can lead human health problems. Mostly, both of the automobile still release noxious gases into the air, and over time the built up can change the environment global warming to like an unhealthy
The carbon dioxide produced by these running vehicles are one of the main contributors to the greenhouse effect. Landfills and dumps with garbage produce vast amounts of carbon dioxide among other gasses. Deforestation removes the trees that take in carbon dioxide and convert it to oxygen. Another cause of the greenhouse effect is the increased population. There are more people using fossil fuels to power machinery or buildings which has absolutely amplified the release of carbon gasses into the

Many people sharing one polluting vehicle is better than each driving their own. For many people this is becoming an important issue.
We all use vehicles for transportation. People usually go to their desired destination either by driving their own cars or traveling in public transportation. Actually, it might be tough to choose that which one is the best selection for people to travel. Many people choose one of them according to their comfort while traveling and both of them have advantages and disadvantages in different conditions. Public transportation and driving own car both shares differences and similarities in many aspects, such as facility, cost, and comfort as well as traffic jam and accident occurrence.
