Social Activism by Canadian Artists There are various Canadian artists that have contributed greatly to film, literature, music, art and other fields. Some famous Canadian artists have also been outspoken social activists for social causes. They have been involved in various organizations and express their views through their music and art. Morisette has been present in speaking up about women’s rights and equality. She is also known for being involved in environmental causes, and has said that one of the best ways to encourage people to protect the environment is through activism. The concept was simple, just film yourself dumping a bucket of ice water over your head, challenge your friends to do the same, and donate ten dollars to the ALS Association.
