Soccer Informative Speech

INTRODUCTION

I. Now a days most of people like to watch and do sports, and there are a lot like football, basketball, or even baseball. However, for me there is one sport that I’m addicted to do or watch, it’s soccer.

II. My topic will be talking about the history of soccer.

III. And as someone who is addicted to play or watch soccer as me, which I’ve been playing it since I was 5 years old.

IV. I will talk to you about the history of soccer, when did it start to develop, and soccer as we know it today.

I. Soccer is the most popular sport around the world.

A. The first counter for people to see this game played was in 2nd or 3rd century in China.

1. People were dribbling and kicking the ball into a small net. Also the Romans and Greeks used to play soccer for fun.

After this brief of history of soccer, now I’ll talk about when it started to develop.

II. In early 1800s, a major changing happened for soccer in England which made it popular around the schools.

A. They separated the rugby rules form soccer, which they were allowing the use of hands also it was more violent.

B. Soccer became more popular around the world which made them establish FIFA association in 1904. In 1930s most of the countries started their own soccer leagues. And that’s when soccer became the most popular game.

After talking about the developing of soccer, now I’ll tell you about the soccer we know it today.

III. Soccer as we know it today is considered the number one sport around the world. And it attracts millions and millions of people from all the world especially for the world cup which is happen every 4 years.
