Soccer is considered the most favored sport in the world. It is played in nearly every country and enjoyed by many. Soccer fans and players come together every four years to watch team members of a national team compete in an international soccer tournament called the FIFA (Fédéracion Internationale de Football Association) World Cup. The 2014 FIFA World Cup reached 3.4 billion viewers. That is 3.4 billion people worldwide that all love the sport of soccer. I remember the day I realized I love soccer. I was 6 years old and in about my second year of playing soccer. Soccer is a great way to exercise, you don't have to play it everyday in order to get in a good workout. By joining soccer you can improve your coordination, muscle strength, and cardiovascular health. Your coordination will improve because you will almost always be multitasking during a game. For example, you could be running, dribbling, and looking out for other players all in one single play. Doing these things will improve your coordination skills by getting you used to multitasking during a game. Your muscle strength will increase because you will constantly be using your muscles to kick, jump, shield, and do throw-ins. By continually using your muscles to perform these skills, you will increase your muscle strength. Finally, you will improve your cardiovascular health because soccer is a very active sport. You will constantly be moving on the field no matter what position you are playing. This may seem like a lot of work but you will not realize how much exercise you're getting because it will be masked behind all the fun you will be having. It is a great way to relieve mental stress because you can clear your mind of all worries while you're playing the game. Once you are on the field, you tend to forget about everything around you and focus on the game. This can allow you to relax and focus on the moment and not worry about anything else. I know that as soon as I step onto the field my thoughts clear up and all I’m focused on is having fun and making the next play. Hearing my teammates communicate with each other and dribbling the ball down the field has such a calming effect on me. It is such a great feeling to be able to leave my worries behind for one great game of soccer. Soccer is also a great way to relieve physical stress because the workout can improve your physical health. By improving your physical health you will reduce some of the stress you and your body is under. Soccer can help you reduce both mental and physical
