As captain of my high school’s soccer team, I encourage my team to do their best in every game, I discipline them, and I show them respect and teamwork. These are very important elements to the team because without discipline there's no team and if there is no discipline there's no respect. I learn a lot from my teammates also and their always there for me when I’m in trouble or I need something. A team is a group of people that share a special bond with each other. At first, We might have some difficulties along the road but in the end we are a family. I am no longer a captain but a team member to my family. I was really shy in my classes and In lunch i'll usually sit with the people that came with me from Macarthur. Then when I join cross country, everything change because I meet new people and I made new friends. I overcome this by opening myself more to this school. I join cross country, soccer, and track & field and when I was doing those sports I had made my new family. This didn’t really affect my academic achievement because It mostly motivated me more to do better in school because as a freshmen I was trying to get in at Segerstrom High School and to get in I always said to myself to do better than the rest. However, when I got accepted to Segerstrom as a sophomore, I went for a day and I honestly didn’t like it. I got to attach with my friends at Saddleback and I decided to return to Saddleback. I learn that everything happens for a reason and that’s what motivates me everyday because not knowing what’s going to happen today or tomorrow makes my life interesting and exciting because I want to live life to the fullest with no

At the beginning of my freshman year, I was ready for whatever was going to be thrown at me. I was excited for the new school and the new opportunities. I had barely made the golf team but for some reason that did not faze me. I had friends from my prior years of schools and I was happy. The classes were easier than I thought they were going to be which was my biggest worry going in. Little did I know that my friendships were the biggest issue.
The FIFA survey continues to prove that soccer, A.K.A. football, is the world’s #1 sport. There are about 240 million people in the world that play soccer from more than 200 countries. It is one of the most popular sports in the world that many people play now. It does take some time to learn the sport but, it shouldn’t be hard to learn it if you have the time and, put in a lot of effort.
I could have taken this change in my life as something terrible, tragic, and sad. Instead, I chose to make the most of it and accept it as a new challenge. I began to communicate with as many people as I could and I trained myself to become a more social person. I joined about every sport possible in middle school and made it a goal to become friends with everyone. By moving to Iowa, I evolved from a shy kid into a much more outgoing and adventurous adolescent.
Soccer has been around for a very long time. Many people around the world play soccer. An abundance of people love soccer, but just as many people hate soccer; they prefer hockey, baseball, or football. Football is just an Americanized version of soccer. Here are three interesting things about soccer.
In this chapter the author discusses the importance of inviting participation from the team. The author also encourages the reader to notice how others perceive them and to spend some time walking in their teammates shoes. I believe this motto involves the entire team, is a constant work in progress...
I was shy because I didn’t know anybody. Now I’ve gotten to know the people in my classes, and I’ve learned that they can help me just as I can help them. Because I was homeschooled, I was a little laid back on when to turn in assignments, I just turned them in when I felt like it. At college, I have changed the way I turn in assignments. I have learned that if I turn in my assignments early or on time I have a better chance of getting a higher grade. I have also changed in the way I manage my time, before I started college I would just get out of bed whenever I felt like it. Now I set alarms and different times on when I need to get something

When I was young I was very shy and did not have many friends. I had weaker social learning skills than the other kids in my classroom. As a result, I kept to myself more often. In middle school I wanted to be like all the other girls wearing makeup due to social influence. Also the boys and girls were always separate doing different things that are either masculine or feminine because of gender role socialization. I remembered in gym that it was all the males that were playing a sport, while most of the girls just ran back inside the gym locker to gossip. Although in school I was very timid, I made friends in my neighborhood. I felt like for the first time I could be myself around them and would not be judged for it. If it were not for them I would not have opened myself up to other people in

In a team-oriented setting, everyone contributes to how well the group succeeds overall. You work with fellow members of the group to complete the work that needs to be done. Having the right people in the correct roles is an important factor in measuring the success of a team, where you are united with the other members to complete the main goals. Every group is made up of definite strengths and weaknesses. Our team's 3-5 major strengths necessary to work accordingly consist of Informer, Summarizer, Orienter, Piggy-Backer, and Encourager. One of our strengths as a team is that we get input from everyone involved. Every member of our team is a leader in some way. Part of being a good leader is knowing how important it is to receive the best ideas from each member of their team. We attend group meetings where we discuss any challenges, issues, and problems. At these meetings, we often exchange ideas or brainstorm new ones with each other and come up with the best and most creative team solutions as potential answers to those perceived problems.
A team's weak cohesion will result in poor performance that may prevent the team from reaching its goals. Individual team members must forget their arrogance and take their roles and responsibilities seriously. Managers, trainers and leaders must make a significant contribution to making the team come together. First of all the leader has to choose the right
Interacting socially with other people were one of my weaknesses ,whether it was in classroom discussions, conversations with individuals, or meeting new people. I was the type of person who mindlessly followed my friends like lost sheep. I didn’t feel included, so I left that group. The next two years of my high school was sent venturing out of my comfort zone and meeting new people. It wasn’t till towards the end of my junior year that I began to change dramatically.
Introduction While competition and cooperation can be looked at as night-and-day mindsets, I believe through my experiences that an athlete can practice a healthy balance of both competition and cooperation with ones teammates and opponents. First and foremost, cooperation with teammates and coaching staff should be the concrete foundation to a team. Having strong relationships and understandings of one another can be a relationship that is developed around and strengthen with competition. I remember as a junior in high school, going on a visit to the University of Toledo for football. The coach at the time was Tim Beckman, what he preached was strength through competition.
In my adolescence I was placed in a team based setting by playing on various sports teams. Working through problems and striving towards a common goal were two skills I acquired through my athletics. I was able to work as a team on and off the field because a democratic leadership style utilizes an open and collaborative approach when decision-making by establishing team cohesion and creativity” (Awan & Mahmood, 2010). In my time on sports teams I have had first hand experience collaborating and decision making as a group. When I had the opportunity to become a team captain, I built upon my previous experiences in democratic leadership to lead as a democratic captain.
