I picked up the large snow globe, admiring the precise detail of the miniature town inside. It showed the whole town just as it was today. Meyer’s, Target and Kohl's were all lined up as usual. Everything was the same. Except for one major detail. One, it wasn't filled with water and two, on the west side of town, instead of the store I was currently in, there was a golden gate. It had a tiny keyhole where you could unlock and open it. You could swing open the gate and take whatever was in the snow globe out. Compared to the gate’s small surroundings, it was huge. But to me, it was the size of a board eraser.
Now curious to why the golden gate was in the snow globe, I headed up to the store clerk. As I walked I scanned the shop, intrigued

My eyes flicked to his nametag. It read Phillip”
“Bob.” I continued.“The sign on the door states that everything in this shop is handmade. So you made this.” I held up the snow globe. “Do you mind if I ask why there is a gate in it. I know it's a stupid question, but i'm currently in college and I'm majoring in marketing. Why did you think the public would like this snow globe? What material did you use to make it look so old and appealing?”
“ Well,” He glanced at my name on the cover of my notebook.” Gwen, this snow globe is handmade. Just not made from my particular hand. The thing is ancient. Been in the store for years. 'Twas made back before even I was born. My great-great-great granddaddy found it back when he was a young un. Though I suspect it was made way longer back than even that. Now, you may be wondering why it shows the current town. The town is a recently new addition. See, you can open this little golden gate here with a key and take out whatever's inside. I've not any clue what was in it before that. The base is what's old. Made of some strange wood. Likely extinct now but that's just a

It’s Gwen.” I said.
“Gwen has a key.”
“ Well, this chit chat is all good, but I warn you,” Ernie said as he looked at his digital watch.” We’ve only got about four minutes left of freedom.”
Then it became chaos. We all rushed toward the gate in panic. Then I looked up and found that the keyhole to the gate was too far up for us to reach.
“ Go to Kohl's,” Plantes yelled. “ Grab all the books you can.”
After a bit, we all returned with armfulls of books. We stacked them up until it was at least ten feet taller than us.
“ Phew. Now unlock it.” Plantes said.
Then we realized. Nobody was on top of the books.
“ Two minutes.” Ernie said.“Why don’t we just get a ladder?”
Stacy hurried off and returned with a ladder. We set it up against the wall and I climbed up as fast as I could. Then Ernie began to count down.
“ Seven, six, five…”
I plunged the key into the hole and turned it. A deep rumbling came from inside the gate and it begun to swing open. While it was swinging open it pushed my ladder off and I fell to the ground. I stood up and brushed myself off. I ran, and just at the last second, scrambled out of the snowglobe. The stretching feeling came again and befor I knew it I was the right size. The people from the snowglobe were all crowded around me. I grabbed the snow globe from the shelf and smashed it to the
The speaker Lampman creates describes “rows of golden palaces” (4), and “horses springing by” (1) giving the impression that winter is heavenly. The speaker initially describes winter as being something similar to the traditional idea of heaven. The speaker gives a blissful and serene description of winter. Gold is a symbol brought up frequently throughout the poem; this adds to the heavenly description of winter, as gold is a symbol of wealth and purity. Gold is used in nearly every image at the start of the poem to really evoke the bliss in winter.
Joyce’s intentions of the snow will forever be open to interpretation, however it is reasonably evident that his intentions of the snow provide the reader with a symbol used to depict the unification and vulnerability of humanity. It is the snow that first showcases Gabriel’s dominant and superficial personality, and reciprocates itself as it serves as reasoning for the epiphany that illuminated his flawed humility.

On a tiny snowflake floating through the air, exists the town of Who-ville, home of the Whos. The town is joyously preparing for the coming of Christmas. The opening scene is full of noise and excitement with the townspeople hustling and bustling about shopping for gifts. Cheerful Christmas music plays in the background while the countdown until Christmas Day is announced over the town’s loudspeaker. Bright colors combined with unusual hairstyles are seen on the people of Who-ville. The town itself is covered with a multitude of lights, decorated trees, and wreaths.
When the lift doors opened at the sixth floor, a wave of dim light and buzzing voices greeted me. It was as if I'd taken the lift to a dark movie from the 70s. Facing me was the entrance to a supermarket selling all types of candy, weird foods, and random home items. Wondering what about the market attracted so many eyeballs and footfalls, I began walking around the floor, and then from floor to floor, observing the many stylistic and curious shops.
Happiness is shown to be achieved during childhood, so Kane’s yearning for his childhood contributes to the enduring value as all humans go through the human condition of aging. Orson Welles’ use of the motif of the snow globe appears several times throughout the film to symbolise Kane’s childhood that was cut short by Thatcher taking him away to his luxury mansion. The snow globe is

The snow globe was given to me before college, even before my final year in high school. It was a random day in the summer of 2002. That was the summer before my senior year of high school. It had been one stormy week of summer. I do not mean literally in the sense that the weather was like the end of the world type weather, but mentally and physically for me the past weeks have been nothing but thunder and lightening going off in my head. A gray storm cloud had been hanging around over my head, raining on me and only me. It was because during the last three weeks of summer vacation, I had spent hours upon hours in my high school looking at the concrete walls painted as though a rainbow had thrown up inside the school. My time had been spent on trying to fix my schedule of classes, so that I could have the perfect balance of classes to slack off in and ones that would impress colleges. The lazy counselor was taking her time and needed me to return almost everyday so that she could lecture me about her personal life. This information was important to the reason why she continued to have trouble with scheduling my classes to my liking.
...that where her parents were. She already knew that her parents were in the snow globe of the Detroit zoo but she told her that they were in the small door so she had time to get the snow globe.
Lucy emerges out the back of the wardrobe to find herself standing in a winter landscape at nighttime. It's snowing!
If it were raining, tough. Cold? Too bad! After asking repeatedly for the gate to be removed, I finally decided on a course of action. Late one night I filled the key hole with super glue. The stuff hardened and a key couldn't be put in.
We began to panic, picking up rocks and using them as hammers in an attempt to loosen the rocks around the opening.
