In October 2012, Snapchat was struggling to attract users to its unique app. Evan Spiegel, the founder of Snapchat, created a whole new way to connect the world through social media. By taking a risk, Spiegel developed a completely new idea that did not aim to fit the needs of users, but instead create an entirely new need. Snapchat started off as a simple app consisting of a few features allowing a user to send a real time picture or video that would last ten seconds. After the ten seconds has finished, the picture or video would then disappear forever.
