As consumers’ thirst for living healthy, active lifestyle grows, Smoothie King is filling a nutritional void for people on the go with its new Killeen store at 2200 E. Central Texas Expressway, on the access road. The store opens for business by mid-week April 10 with the ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening Mon. Apr. 24 at 2 p.m.
“We think people in this area are looking for grab and go options that are healthier, and tastier, than fast food,” said Alexandra Myers, 35, president. As a Navy veteran, Myers' business concept is to put Smoothie Kings on, or near, military bases. “It's a great way to bring healthier food choices to everyone, and especially to military personnel, who are always on the go,” she said.
Smoothie King specializes in making fresh, healthy smoothies offering over 40 types, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free and dairy free. With many add-on items and flavors, the possibilities are almost endless. “We have something for everyone's fitness or nutritional goal,” Myers said, “whether it is for slimming down or bulk up or more protein, smoothies with a purpose is our slogan, and our purpose is your health.”
