Sketchers Advertising
Advertising is used to inform people about products for sale and to encourage people to buy them. It is a way of telling people about different products that companies are selling. Things are advertised differently depending on whether they are in the newspaper, on television, on the radio or in magazines. The purpose of advertising is to encourage people to buy that particular product rather than another product. There are different forms of advertising. These are: industry and commerce, to sell goods and services and to give information about a certain product. Organizer of event, this is to promote events such as the cinema, theatre, and charity events.
Political party, this is to win support on votes, to lobby government.
Educational establishments. Which are to advertise colleges and universities. There are also other forms of advertising such as: charity, media, government and private individual. There are also many pros and cons of advertising. The pros are that the advertisements bring the prices down because it encourages competition and increases sales. It gives people information about goods and services. The cons are that it persuades people to spend money on things they don’t really want or need, and they interrupt television programmes, and fill up page after page of magazines.
I have looked at the ‘sketchers’ footwear advertisement that I found in a J-17 magazine. The ‘Sketchers’ advertisement is on a plain blue background and takes up a whole double page spread. They have used
Britney Spears to advertise the footwear so that people are encouraged to buy them because they think that Britney wears them and they want to be like her. On the first half of the advert there are two pictures of Britney Spears, the ‘Sketchers’ logo, the website address and the words ‘Sketchers USA Footwear’. The website was put on the advert to make people go onto the site and look at more of their shoes. They include these pictures of Britney spears to make the trainers more appealing to the audience to make people try and buy their shoes. On the other half of the advertisement there are two more pictures of
Britney Spears.
The product is ‘Sketchers’ footwear, the brand name and company is
‘Sketchers’ and there is no slogan. The logo is the letter ‘S’ in a oval shape. The outline of the logo is white, the inside is red and the letter ‘S’ is white. The target audience is teenage girls and women up to the age of about thirty, possibly a bit older. The purpose of this advert is to encourage people to choose their product of
1. This advertisement features Taylor Swift, which is a celebrity spokesperson; she is supporting the company, “Diet Coke”. People that enjoy listening to Taylor Swift’s music will most likely buy this product, because they think that buying this product, diet coke will make them closer, and more like their favorite pop star Taylor Swift. This advertisement also features Pathos, an appeal to emotions, because Taylor Swift may be someone’s favourite musician or person in general. It also features ethos, an appeal to credibility, or character, because Taylor Swift is famous for her music, therefore she is well recognized throughout our society, and the music industry.
The creators of this Ked’s ad uses Pathos by having the little girl in her wonder woman costume making it humorous. As a matter of fact in the ad I see a connection with Taylor and her life experiences. At the age of fifteen Taylor moved to Nashville, Tennessee which is why maybe the ones who produced this ad did this on purpose. To explain the images in the collage that says “Meet …”can be referred to during the time this ad was created there was a competition going on whoever submitted the best and most inspiring video why they should meet Taylor would actually meet her. Lastly, it also highly employs the technique Ethos. It features a very highly famous celebrity who is Taylor Swift. Swift is a singer, actress, recorder producer, and also a stylist who is an idol for many teenage girls. For one thing, the producer used a celebrity like Taylor Swift so teenage girls who is their main focus attract them so they can buy more of their products. Personal beliefs can also tie into the advertisement because it seems like if you have a pair of Keds you will be happy. This can be said, because all of the girls who are in the ad have a smile on their face. Not to mention, in the text it also states “Be brave and you’ll have the time of your life” which is also attempting to persuade the audience if you buy Keds you will have the time of your life referring back to
Since Rihanna is one the most popular female singer in the world, people already know a lot about her. Her persona or her character would have a great impact on the sales of the product, since all her followers around the world be influenced by her. The purpose of the ad seem to be to sell her products but there is another hidden intention. That would be rising awareness among people that every colored women should feel confident and good about themselves. For instance, Rihanna used a model who’s also well know but also has certain skin tone like the model who has albinism. Albinism is when a person’s skin tone is extremely white. Not a lot of makeup lines make products for that skin tone, but Rihanna did and increased her audience and provided a clear intention of her makeup line.
There are several aspects to the layout of this advertisement. Women, regardless of age, tend to be drawn to the use of beautiful, younger women in an arrangement, which makes this design effective. Firstly, Taylor Swift (the young woman in the picture) has been properly dressed so that the lip-gloss she is using matc...
The target audience is both males and females in their late teens to mid twenties. This company gets the male side of the equation by getting their attention and interest drawn to the attractive woman on the right with bright colors drawing your attention there as well as the bottle of whiskey which is right in the middle of the page. Then what gets these peoples attention to stay there is the fact they have an incredibly good looking female who is posing in next to nothing. Then a way that they try and get the females to look at the advertisement and read it is by showing a very plain girl who seems to be very typical of girls during their younger years. Then beside they show the same girl who now has become a women who is very attractive and just seems so much more powerful and sure of herself. One way that you can achieve that is if you drink Evan Williams Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey.
Neo-formality components and its structures had a couple of characterizing attributes, for example, clean exquisite lines and an uncluttered presence. The perfect of neo-established structural engineering started as a response to the abundance of Baroque style and its deco. As the course and qualities of the neo-traditional moved to an effortlessness and calm qualification it came to be inclination. They both had a solid effect in today's planner plans. The impacts that they both had were diverse impacts in craft particularly in construction modeling. Symmetry rules this style with involved entryways.
The advert is for a new product called ‘WOMAN’ that they are adding to their line of fragrances. The first thing that is noticed about this advert is the colour. It is very contrasting with the black and white, and gives a big impact to the audience. The white usually signifies innocence but with the black background it’s suggesting hidden depths, like a wild side that you could have. The model’s look is very confident, like she can get
The models are thin and wearing nice, party dresses, which show a fair amount of skin. This showing of skin creates a fashionable and carefree image. The dresses that the two women wear are tasteful and complement each one individually, adding a sense of appeal to the men and women that are viewing the advertisement. The clothing, fitted to slimmer models, implies that Diet Coke does not cause weight gain. The dresses "promise" the consumer that they will look thinner and more radiant if they drink the product. Also, the Diet Coke advertisement uses thin models to portray that drinking this product is harmless to the body. The slim models compel the viewers to believe that they won 't gain weight if they drink this beverage. If young women see beautiful girls drinking Diet Coke, they 'll want to drink it too, so that they might look as attractive as the models. Meanwhile, the young men who see this advertisement will want to drink a Diet Coke so that they would have a common interest with girls similar to those presented. When an individual sees the image of the two models having a fun time, they associate it with the Coca Cola brand and will want to buy a Diet
...f any obstacles that they might face along the way. By showing that she can have the brains as well as the looks, she encourages young women to try harder to attend high class schools and to understand that with a little bit of extra work they can make it to the top of their area of work. Many women can see this as a trend that can help them achieve anything that they put their minds to. She can increase the amount of women applying for universities and jobs by inspiring them to do more than stay at home as housewives. And though the targeted audience knows that looks aren’t everything, they also know that the image they portray is extremely important in the work environment. Everyone knows that when you look good, you feel good, and having a positive state of mind is always helpful to better your chances of finding a healthy balance in all areas of your life.
Parental involvement as defined by Greene and Tichenor (2003) is participation “in the educational process by enhancing their parenting skills, developing positive communication skills between home and school, volunteering, providing learning opportunities at home, contribute to decisions that affect schooling, and collaborating with the community in support of the school” (p. 242).
“Parent involvement," a term researchers use to describe the interest family takes in a child 's education, is of special interest to educators who encourage parents to help kids at home with homework and projects. School districts also focus on methods to encourage parents to view the school as an important part of family life as children grow. Theories on parent involvement explore the links between family and school interaction and attempt to identify the reasons for high and low parent participation (Ryan, 2015).
The media favors one women's body type; the tall blonde with perfect, tan skin and long, beautiful hair. Because the images of women in advertisements are unattainable, it keeps them purchasing new products in their quest to be like the models they see (Moore). The actual women in these advertisements can't even match up to the
The topic of family involvement with children’s education has caught my attention since I have seen a lack of it throughout my own education. Parent involvement is generally low or not enough in certain urban districts. Many parents seem unaware of the importance of their participation and the large role they play on their children’s education. It is many concepts and factors that can potentially affect students’ academic performance. It is socio economic, family factors that can negatively affect a student’s learning engagement and participation in educational achievement. The question then is: How can Public schools promote family involvement?
Parental Involvement has become an increased concern for educators and researchers over the past decades. The most widely agreed upon definition of parental involvement has been the degree to which the parent commits to the role of being a parent and helping the child achieve optimal development (Kusterer, 2010). This can be achieved through communication, helping with school work at the home, becoming involved with school functions, and participating in learning tasks for the children. Parents who are involved in their child’s educational development participate in these aspects of the child’s learning environment. Previous research has shown that when parents maintain involvement in the child’s education during adolescence that it helps to facilitate the child’s...
