It was a warm and sunny July morning, and I was awakened by the sweet sound of birds chirping outside of my window. I was still half asleep when I got out of bed to go to the bathroom and wash my face. Then out of nowhere I hear my mom call out to me, “Are you almost ready? Chloe and Kristina are going to be here in ten minutes to pick you up.” Then all of a sudden the nerves hit me like a rock; I was wide awake now and thinking about the day to come. Today I was going to Six Flags: Great Adventure. For most people they would be jumping off the walls with excitement, but not me. Oh have I mentioned I have an extreme fear of heights? After I got myself ready and ate breakfast, I said goodbye to my mom and slumped in the car with Chloe and …show more content…
Screams could be heard coming off of that ride from every inch of the park. Even the smallest roller coaster in the park seemed intimidating to me. Kristina suggested, “How about we go on Kingda Ka first because the line gets pretty long throughout the day.” Chloe responded, “That’s a good idea, then Julia wont have to feel nervous the whole day.” I didn’t know how I felt about starting the day off with the tallest roller coaster in the world, but I wanted to get it out of the way. As we walked towards the ride I could smell the heated rubber from the tracks of the coaster. It was so strong that it made my eyes water a little bit. When we got to the ride there was a half hour wait, which wasn’t too bad for Six Flags. The closer we got to the ride the more regrets I started to have. What if I’m not strapped in all the way? What if I fall out? What if something comes loose and the ride collapses? I started to breathe heavily and rethink coming today. Chloe and Kristina saw that I was panicking and they started to comfort me. “Its okay we are all going on the roller coaster together, we will be fine” “Look at how happy those people are that just came off the ride. It’s going to be
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
The dank, humid air breezes past us as we zigzag through the fences to be the first ones on the ride. The steps greet us as we hustle all the way to the top. The seats anxiously await our arrival as our group makes our way to the line of dangling cars. I take my place on a seat in the middle car and wait.
Four years ago we went to Disney World just my family and me, we had so much fun that we decided we would go again in four years. We started planning the next trip almost immediately; we were all so excited to go back. It was not going to be just us this time; my aunt and uncle’s family would be coming with us this time. I remember waiting those four years, and they felt like forever. When it finally came time to start packing (three days in advance) we made sure to prepare for what we did not last time. We had been there before so we knew what we should bring. We packed a bunch of snacks and a bunch of waters. Everything there is so expensive so we tried to cut down on buying extra food. The meal plan that we had gotten with our trip was prepaid
during the ride my cousin was laughing so hard that his stomach hurt when he got off the ride because of my mom screaming. she was over exaggerating it like
Where to go and what to do? Spring break 2016 was awesome! My family and I decided to go to Florida. While we were heading down, we went through six states. Once we arrived, we had to decide what to do .One of the things we decided to do was going to Disney World for four days.
My internal organs thumped against my chest as I dragged my bag along the carpet floor and into the corridor. As I walked into the long hall, I glanced up and noticed the sign telling me I could get on. My entire body could barely hold itself together with the anticipation of the monumental, dream-come-true event about to take place. I said to myself, "I'll soon be in the air." I slowed my pace to further enjoy what was happening. Swarms of people walked around me as I treasured knowing that one of my lifetime goals was now inevitably going to occur. The excitement and adrenaline running through my veins could have killed a horse.
In my life I have had the opportunity to travel to seventeen states and thirteen foreign countries, each providing a new insight on the world and the people who inhabit it. It is a rare and precious opportunity to get a glimpse into the lives of so many different groups of people: every one having a different language, even if it is just a change in dialect, a unique history, a different appearance, a culture of their own, and the experience is invaluable. Aside from a short trip to Banff I can hardly remember, my first vacation was to Disney World. It was a gift from my grandparents that ultimately lasted around nine years. I have a hard time remembering exact details from the trip, I was only four years old, but I distinctly remember the magic that I felt walking through the parks.
Those rides look like to most fun rides here! Yeah, they look frightening, but I bet you they are fun. Come on, let’s go!” After that, I hastily ran to the line because of how thrilled I was to get on that roller coaster and feel the wind in my hair, put my hands up in the air, and just have some
My story started about a week ago. I was heading to bed early, because I was tired from a long day with plans to wake up a few hours before class to review for a test. As I closed my books for the evening and headed to bed around midnight, little did I know something was going on outside.
Darkness has set in. Main Street USA lit only by the small glow of the shop lights. My small 4 year old attention span is trained on the pavement in front of me. Sitting in the front of the stroller, which also holds my little brother, I turn my head to ask my father, for the gazillionth time, how much longer. Then it happens.
It all began when Erica was sitting criss-cross-applesauce around the enormous, beautiful Christmas tree with her family on Christmas morning. She had opened up all of her presents, except for one box, every year her family gave each of their kids a box to open last. They all opened them up, inside was Minnie mouse ears waiting to be plopped on their little heads. A little puzzled, she found out that her family was going to Florida! She also found out that they were going with their cousins!
One of the main reasons I was so nervous was because my dad’s friend had a terrible ski accident a month earlier. He ran into a tree because someone else hit him. I went with my dad to see his friend and the moment traumatized me. He had so many broken bones and the doctor said their was a chance he might never be able to walk again. However he was coming to this event and started to get the hang of walking again which was great.
BEEP BEEP BEEP! I reached over to smack my alarm clock wondering why it was going off when I realized that the it was the first day of school and that Leila and I were going to steal Laura’s parking spot. I quickly got out of bed and ran to the bathroom. I did my morning routine which consisted of washing my face, brushing my teeth, and then applying a little amount of makeup which was mascara and if I needed it some foundation and that was usually very rare. I then made my way back to my room trying to be extremely quiet
One day, with my family, we were in front of Disney Land ready to enter. As I walked through the entrance, millions of beautiful colors blinded my eyes. It was as colorful as a rainbow! Everything looks like a dream come true . Me and my family were greeted by cheerful welcoming workers!
It’s funny how time seems to speed up in the most unfortunate times, and slows down when you need it to the least. Then the coaster stops, and the passengers step off, most of them in a woozy, surreal state. I follow my mom onto the ride that seats two in a row. I pull the heavy straps down over my chest, and buckle it in. Now my worry has turned into full blown chaos, and my insides are flipping
