Sir Francis Drake was born in Devonshire, England in the the year 1540. He had a very large family., Hhe was the eldest of twelve sons born to, and his parents were, Mary Myllwaye and Edmund Drake. In 1568 the Spanish attacked Drake’s ship while it was in port, Francis and Hawkins managed to escape but the rest of their crew were killed. This caused Drake to get permission from Queen Elizabeth to attack any Spanish ships or property in the year 1572. Soon he sailed to Panama to overtake the city Nombre de Dios which the Spanish military used to store all their gold and silver from Peru. With two ships and a crew of seventy three Drake easily captured the city. In 1577 Queen Elizabeth sent Francis to explore the Pacific coast of America well at least that is what he told everyone else. The Queen actually sent him over to America to attack the Spanish ships. Drake brought five ships on the voyage, one of his officers on his ship (Thomas Dougherty) Francis noticed Drake acting suspicious and Dougherty expected the Captain was planning something. Soon after Drake overheard Thomas talking about his plan to betray him, and once Drake’s fleet had dropped anchor within the coast of Argentina he had Thomas Dougherty arrested. The English victory over the Spanish Armada marked the beginning of the British naval dominance in the Atlantic. England and Spain had been enjoying a peaceful relationship throughout the early 15th century. However, the relations turned sour after the Spanish backstabbed an English fleet, led by a British sailor named Francis Drake at the Spanish port of San Juan de Ulua in 1568. Drake, privately encouraged by Queen Elizabeth of England, began pirating the Spanish riches for England from the Caribbean and all along the Spanish held coasts of Latin America. King Philip of Spain, already disgusted by the religious practices of England’s royalty, began scheming for a plan to invade Britain. He sent 130 large vessels, meant to carry soldiers, to the English Channel. The once thought “Invincible Armada” was annihilated by England’s smaller, more maneuverable and better armed crafts. While the surviving Spanish ships were retreating back home, a rare September storm devastated the already diminished fleet. John Winthrop and Benjamin Franklin were both leaders in their time. They had very different views on common issues, which is very apparent in the works used in the document provided for this paper. He served, as an apprentice in the Thames Coastal Trade after his father became a preacher at Chatham. He led several expeditions against the Spanish Main as well as an attack against the Spanish city of Cadiz. Drake was the first Englishman to circumnavigate the globe and he helped defeat the Spanish Armada in 1588. He was a successful privateer, a talented navigator and one of the most famous seamen in history.
Late in 1577, Francis Drake left England with five ships, ostensibly on a trading expedition to the Nile. On reaching Africa, the true destination was revealed to be the Pacific Ocean via the Strait of Magellan, to the dismay of some of the accompanying gentlemen and sailors. Still in the eastern Atlantic, a Portuguese merchant ship and its pilot - who was to stay with Drake for 15 months - was captured, and the fleet crossed the Atlantic, via the Cape Verde Islands, to a Brazilian landfall.
Sir Francis Drake is known for England's defeat of the Spanish Armada. He was a sea dog and he sailed around the world. Drake was actually the first one to sail around the world since Magellan died in his journey.

Throughout Drake’s musical career, the theme he raps about the most is the male/female relationship. As I referenced it before the relationship between men and women is one of the pillars of rap. His most commercially successful and loved songs are about the relationships he’s had with a woman.
